Overrated/underrated: Infamous Iron Man

Here we are with the next post on this series, and this is about Infamous Iron Man, otherwise known as Iron Doom or IDoom,

When he first came out, he had a lot of hype, which made sense, he is Victor Von Doom and we know how good Mystic Dr Doom is in mcoc. But after the hype passed, I realised that he isn't used that much anymore, like usually only as a Bishop counter (which he is incredible at doing).

So what do we think of him nowadays? Is he overrated, underrated or perfectly rated? Was he overhyped? To me he's good, not OP, probably around OG Iron Man level. I also wished he was nullify immune (because after all he is Victor Von Doom), but other than that he seems to be good.

Wow this poll is completely even so far...interesting. I love my r5 idoom, good dual threat in bgs since he takes awhile to take down and deals pretty good damage

Idoom I feel is very underrated he may not have the raw damage power but his utilities more than make up for it. And I use him to take down prowess heavy champs like Bishop.

He was extremely overrated when he was launched (People ranked him up over nimrod) but when FAM became mainstream, and Nimrod/lady D/Omega sentinel once again became Mutant hunters, Infamous ironman lost his game.

Infamous Ironman is a very interesting case. Initially he came as a counter to Bishop who was annoying at that time, and a great power control champ. But they don't want him to be busted like Doom so they locked all his abilities behind armor up buff. Nimrod can do everything irondoom can do in a better way. And for power control/tankiness/defensive power we got FAM who is way better than Irondoom.

But suddenly now everyone's sleeping on him. He is most ranked up tech champ when carina vol 3 gem was out. But nowadays I rarely see them in any deck. He would be a great 7* I bet.

Don't mind rate of champions.... play the champions that you have most enjoyable and fun ...this is a Game.

Every champs are perfect and usable. Of course some Champs are bit lower potential,but hope they will fix it. @EdisonLaw just play the game and champions which you like cool.... if they under or over rated, .....

Deals pretty good damage? His damage is horrendous, he has power control and is a slightly annoying defender and that's about it

@Toproller89 are you launching the sp2 when the opponent has over 2 bars of power and when you are in the aura?

I like him, i use him in AW. But i mostly beat Bishop with him

Haven't used him in a few months. He was good on release, but I just don't see any use for him these days.

I use him all the time. Heavy cancel into sp2 does TONS of damage and burns power too. He's top 5 tech IMO.

He also has a sweet synergy with Shuri, where you can tank 1 special per fight if you get clipped.

Also, at high sig, he heals up a ton when he hits 15%, once in every fight. Very good survivability for questing.

He is one of my goto tech champs for TB EQ.

Perfectly rated

I'd say he is perfectly rated. He does what he does well, doesn't do what he can't, and his armor is still a big weakness that even ironheart covers.

Not particularly good, not particularly bad. Niche champ, has its uses, such as VS Bishop in BG...but as a defender and attacker in general, nothing special about idoom.

I love when the community wakes and agrees on champs who I INITIALLY SAID were overrated upon release while EVERYONE were riding their coattails.
It happened with Idoom, it happened with omega sentinel. I wonder who the next overrated champion will be. Probably the "serpent counter" who is only good for serpent but they'll be called "best mystic" even tho they can't do anything else.

Omega sentinel wasn't hyped. She was always perfectly rated. She is a utility champ who has great synergies,and tough in defense without a counter. But she isn't a bg champ, You rarely see her in bgs ever since she was launched.

Idoom is special case. People ranked him over nimrod. Youtubers hyped him a lot. Bishop counters aren't many at that time. When Fam and shocker was introduced, idoom lost most of his value. When Og ironman was introduced, it's the final straw for idoom. Ironman does everything idoom does (prowess contorl and bishop counter), and has better abilities. Irondoom has power control nd that's it.

Shathra wouldn't really be "just serpent counter" cuz it's clear she counters other cosmics wayy better, like maestro and hulkling for example

Ohh I know very well what I'm saying. I was head omega sentinel hater back in 2022 after I got her and wondered what everyone was talking about. Sure she has good utility, everyone was over hyping her damage such in such and her as a champion in general even tho her debuffs are very hard to maintain. If you don't believe me go watch the omega sentinel videos in 2022 from legacy, vega, Nick, Karate mike etc. Even in tier lists she was neck in neck with nimrod and warlock. Nick even calling her Damage "INSANE". Everyone over hyped omega Sentinel because she was the runner up against Hercules and so she had a huge fan base already waiting for the champion to join the game so they were the MOST VOCAL about how "GREAT" they wanted her to be even if she wasn't as "GREAT" as people were making her out to be.

Same can be said about Idoom because we already had doctor doom fanboys expecting another doctor doom that they were ready to get anything and call it "TOP 10 TECH".

As for Shathra that serpent counter topic was not directed to her, I think she's quite a good champion and very easy. She's already underrated in my opinion.

EDIT- also I don't think BG'S was in the equation with sentinel.

Yeah omega sentinel was definitely not in nimrod level, but was more like nimrod substitute if you don't pull him. But she is definitely as good as warlock, if not better. Warlock don't have crazy damage anyways.

One thing you need to understand is tech class is massively behind compared to others so people are hyped with whatever little stuff they got
