Also the fact the livestream was prerecorded just goes to show you didn’t want to face the community backlash.
I'm curious to know what difference it would make being live or pre-recorded. They don't have to answer things said in chat. It's not a Q & A. They've already "faced" the backlash. They've told you that the problem wasn't the crystals but more so that they overvalued the keys. They've made several posts, answered on discord etc.. what more do you want them to answer?
I want to know in what way crashed measures this as a success. I have not seen this much backlash in a long time. Like 99% of the community in agreement that it was horrible then the few like you and gw with a brown nose being the 1% minority always defending them. I would love to see crashed’s analytics that he shows in any way this event was a success. Words are words. Proof is in the evidence. Now go put your head back where it belongs.
He didn't say it was resounding success but it's more successful than how you're thinking of it.
like I said words are words. I would love to see the evidence to support it.
Weren't you pushing a boycott? What evidence would suffice for someone with that position?
The issue is he's talking about their goals from a data perspective, which is fair. That's what they base everything on. If their objectives were met through the data, then that shows the Event as a success. Unfortunately, the disparity is between the data and the feedback and I'm afraid no matter how much noise we make, if people put the numbers up, then that's going to reflect. Which is why there's nothing more they can add. They could say, "We see you're not happy.". That wouldn't help anything. It would just enflame the situation. None of the suggested solutions were feasible. Redoing the Crystal code...refunding people their Units....giving people twice the Crystals....all of that was unreasonable. Sorry to be the one to say it, but it was. So there's nothing much else they can say until they look at the results. This wasn't the type of Event that could be adjusted on the spot like that. They added some extras through the Milestones. That's the best we were going to get.
Its very fair on data perspective. Not sure how a tool for discord and forum would have analytic data... All it takes is 1 person to read the posts and see the community is heavily unhappy. Not sure how a tool is gonna weight in "upset" as data... Now the middle finger counter on discord could be analyzed...
There's lads at my work, they have more tools than they'll ever use and they're awful engineers, but they have them to look good and show they fit the part.. this reminds me of the saying, all the gear and no idea. Simplicity is king, and the old school method of just reading would be much more effective
I haven't said anything else because at this point I don't have anything else to say. I didn't think saying the same thing again was going to be helpful to anybody, but my thoughts have not changed since that post. It's probably not what you want to hear, but it's where I'm at right now.
I'm going to wait for the data report from our analytics team. If that report changes my mind about anything I will be sure to let people know.
Truly listening to the community, by ignoring us and only looking at the analytics 👍
@BringPopcorn you have a 21k unit budget. look at this list and tell me exactly what you would get in the exact quantities and we will compare it to the banquet. keep in mind you have to a spend a minimum amount before unlocking the next tier...
And we keep going over this nonsense compare it to last years CM dude, why are you comparing the banquet? The only way I would have told you that you are right is if both events prizes had been released at the same time. CM is CM, 4th is 4th, Banquet is Banquet. Wanna compare it to the Omega event? Or the count nefaria sale too?...Hell lets compare to the spring cleaning and dooblons event too might as well. Poolies too!
it's last MONTH'S banquet, to be precise.
you're avoiding this because you know 21k units in the banquet was much better spent than cyber. since you're not willing to have a good faith discussion i'm out.
Cool story and what is your point? Am I discussing the value of 21k Units? I am not, because I AM NOT COMPARING IT WITH CM. I am not willing to have a good faith discussion? Didn't you open a post saying people where whining or crying a lot? Is that good faith? Not having good faith because I am criticizing the banquet and you keep on comparing it to CM?.... I GIVE 2 F and half about CM, I was not paired with a bunch of TBs in CM was I? What part of it don't you get? I am not comparing the value of 21k Units between Banquet and CM. I am criticizing the Banquet as a STANDALONE EVENT.
like it or not you have to compare it to current market.
Well **** lets compare it to a 7* champion at 9.5k units then too.. for 21k you can get at least 2.. I guess every event is good then...
you compare it to current day prices, not the 1950s or the 1920s.
like it or not your units were better spent on banquet than on cyber monday and it's not even close. but feel free to keep being mad.
Once again who is comparing prices? You are to support your nonsense. I am criticizing an event regardless of units spent. Your whole argument is well banquet was better than CM... Who asked you to compare them? Are we going based on pure market value of units? Every event past, current and future is great then, because they are charging you 9.5k units for a single champion....
This is current, not 1950s or 1920s are we going to base the unit value based on every sale? Units are units right?
if you go to your favorite store and they're selling item X and 4 weeks later you get much more of it for the same price, do you complain?
Honestly if these banquet crystals was transferred to units that 9500 unit isn’t bad for champ you want lol
My 7* shards turned into Spiderman!
A garanteed champ that “you” want isn’t bad lol when compared to these superior banquet crystal and
The “sheer” amount of people opening these crystals in general. The 9500 isn’t bad.
Champs is considered is 7* omega red, prowler are the 2 champs I need awakened.
New 7* 2024 Champs in the Titan crystal And 2025 champ id want is ares hopefully he comes out soon who was leaked.
The only data you should pay attention to @Kabam Crashed is the video openings on YouTube see people “enjoy” the experience of opening Superior Banquet Crystals. Did the community open a whole lot of them? Yes! Did they enjoy doing it? NOPE!
SBCs alone were trash, but they were just a means to an end and they existed to get us the milestones. it's a shame most players don't look at it that way.
if kabam sold me a bag of chips for $1000 and threw in a car worth $40k for free, i wouldn't moan about overpriced chips i would see the total value of what i'm getting.
spinning crystals was supposed to be a big part of the fun, i get that, but maybe next year.
From what I have seen, most people are complaining about the crystals, not the milestones
Me personally, I was a fan of the milestones. I was NOT, however, a fan of the crystals. But if Kabam were to look at analytics, they wouldn’t see that. They would see that I spent all of my units on the Banquet event and therefore conclude that I was satisfied with it. I did NOT spend all of my units for the crystals. I spent all of my units for the milestones. That’s the #1 thing that I’m worried about when it comes to Kabam looking mainly at the analytics. The analytics have no way of separating which parts of the event players liked and didn’t like, since everything outside of the unit deals required players to buy Banquet Crystals to get any of the rewards.
I think the easiest way to convey my point would be a simple what-if scenario: what if the milestone rewards were purchasable through a separate rewards track OUTSIDE OF THE CRYSTALS, with the prices adjusted to account for the fact that players wouldn’t be getting both the crystal and milestone rewards at the same time. The analytics would, I imagine, show that most players dumped all of their units into the milestone rewards and almost none of them into the Banquet Crystals. Kabam would then look at those analytics, see that no one was buying the crystals, and then decide that the community was overall unhappy with the crystals specifically, and that they needed to be buffed moving forward.
I am not offering this separation of rewards as a solution, I am simply creating the scenario to illustrate the point that the main issue stems from the crystals. I don’t think anyone would even bother with the crystals if they could get the milestone rewards without having to go through them, which reinforces why they need to be better in the future
i agree with almost of this. the SBCs were poor value and i wouldn't touch them if they were separate from milestones.
the problem is players are benefiting from the milestones while complaining about the very thing that got them there. SBCs are the tools that got us to where we wanted and we can't condemn them after the fact.
i am sure kabam's data will show any problems that they will hopefully improve upon but i'm positive that they know us better than we know ourselves. actions are more important than words and how far we got in the milestones shows that we generally liked it.
Maybe it’s because it’s currently 2:40 AM for me and I’m fairly tired, but I really don’t understand your logic here. Are you saying that players shouldn’t be complaining about the crystals because they were forced to buy them to get the milestone rewards? Shouldn’t that be a reason for why they SHOULD be complaining?
The problem I have is that I’m being forced to buy something I don’t want, to get something I DO want. Wouldn’t it be better overall if everything was desirable? Maybe I’m acting like a kid who just wants more candy but the fact remains that it just doesn’t feel good to buy Banquet Crystals.
i don't agree with the the framing of this. nobody is forcing us to buy crystals or do anything in this game so let's not externalize the blame to kabam. we have agency, we can think for ourselves.
it's really simple...we look at the terms of an offer and decide if we want it.
we can't complain about terms that we already agreed to. it's like reading the fine print, signing a contract then moaning about it. we saw the milestones, saw the crummy drop rates in the crystals and bought it anyway because we wanted the milestones.
we can ask kabam to reorder the deal next time so it LOOKS and FEELS better, but no one objectively got ripped off or scammed. overall it was good value.
I wasn’t trying to imply that Kabam was literally forcing us to spend our units. I meant it more like, if I spend 200 units for a T3 basic catalyst and 2,000 7* shards, what’s the point of the T3 basic catalyst? Who’s actually buying that offer for the T3B? Why not just skip the filler and get to the part everyone wants? Would the price of the offer be lower if the filler wasn’t there? Clearly the T3 basic catalyst is SOMETHING, and therefore adds to the price of that offer. Removing it probably wouldn’t decrease the offer by that much, but I’d rather spend less for the only part of the offer I care about instead of spending more just because it’s bundled with a resource that most people would agree is not desirable
I agree that the OVERALL value of this banquet, when compared to EVERYTHING ELSE, is quite good. I would rather get several 7* champions and titan crystals for 6k units instead of spending 9.5k units for one singular 7* champion. However, in comparison to other banquet events, it’s quite lackluster. The event used to be more of a bargain for players, and the decrease in that discount recently has seemingly happened for no good reason. If there was a justifiable reason WHY the event has been less exciting than it has in the past, maybe I could get behind it. But as of right now, I just don’t see it, which is why I believe that it should be better
Additionally, since this is the second year in a row where this event missed, it sets a concerning precedent for the future. It is in the best interest of both the players and Kabam if this event goes well. I am concerned about the overall health and longevity of this game, and not just whether or not I get my candy. If Kabam begins to show an inability to improve with player feedback, players will inevitably leave, or at least stop spending altogether. Whether or not that’s justified is up for debate, but it WILL happen eventually. I don’t think the solution is to simply tell players to appreciate what they have when the overall quality of the event has noticeably declined as of late. I am personally happy with what I received (despite the large number of unnecessary resources) BECAUSE I compared it with what I receive normally, but that’s mainly because I’m a glass-half-full kind of person. Despite the silver linings I found, I still acknowledge that the event could have been much better, and that there are many areas that need to be worked on if Kabam wants to see satisfied players in the future
The only data you should pay attention to @Kabam Crashed is the video openings on YouTube see people “enjoy” the experience of opening Superior Banquet Crystals. Did the community open a whole lot of them? Yes! Did they enjoy doing it? NOPE!
Lagacy's most recent vid was him opening them, and he looked (unfortunately expectedly) miserable
I hope you guys analyse thoroughly not just the data from the event, but the huge backlash, it's been 8 years since i'm playing this game and i have never seen a banquet event being so criticized
We have pretty good analytics tools for the forums and Discord now, so yes that's part of what I'm waiting to see. I have some suspicions about what is going on but I don't know for sure until I can see the report.
Analytic tool for discord?... Last time I checked discord was basically an annex of global chat with the only difference being live moderators to silence or ban inappropriate behavior. I wonder what kind of results this tool will show about the 1200+ middle fingers given to the announcement...
"hey f u kabam but also here's my money" tells me the community's moans are mostly empty gestures, as they usually are.
they balanced the rewards between milestones and SBCs well enough that it didn't affect the economy and gave us the same good rewards overall. if they had done what we wanted and buffed SBCs we would be crying about the spending gap and why we're getting 8*s so fast.
Yeah cause a TB with now 2 or 3 r3s closes the gap to a whale with now 35+ r3s Sounds like a great idea. Didn't affect the economy? You have people that didn't finish act 6 with similar or same rewards as people who explored Necropolis how did that not affect the economy?...
we've got a brand new rank. this means:
-the whales pay a fortune to have first access -r3s lose value -kabam bumps up paragons and thronbreakers with more r3s -the rest of us non-whale valiants will be second in line for rank 4s (content, etc..)
we have a choice between spending a fortune for one or waiting, there's no other option. do you want kabam to give us scrubs cheap r4s??
Did I say that?... I want to be rewarded accordingly.... I want my effort to actually have some value as opposed to spending 365 days a year farming arenas, not doing content and receiving the same reward pool is that so hard to understand?
for now, temporarily at least, non-whale valiants and paragons/TBers are defacto in the same pool. we could have moved to the r4 pool but it would have cost five figures.
you're kind of implying that since you can't get a rank 4 at the same rate as a multi millionaire super whale, that we should gate-keep the rank that JUST GOT DOWNGRADED to second place (r3). that's not how the game works.
You are an assumption making machine...My rewards got limited because what would be suitable for me is too much for. TB account. It has nothing to do with me and whales getting R4s. Because they are in the same pool I got less 7* crystals and Titan crystals, that translates to awakenings and sig levels. I ended up with an overflow of t5cc and way too much t6b, t3a and t6cc included, which for a TB has a lot more value than players like me. Is that clear enough now? One of the highest milestones was an r1-2 Gem while I''m sitting on overflow of r2 mats if you can't see the problem is because you benefitted from this event.
brother, i'm sure you've played for a long time so you know how the game works.
kabam separates progression into different rooms. when a new rank comes out they create a new room, put the shiniest tastiest bait in there and entice superwhales to get it. me and you are free to try for it but since we're not trillionaire oil tycoons, we can't.
so what do we do? we wait patiently in our current rooms while kabam starts shuffling paragons and TB'ers into it. you might not like it but that's how it's always worked.
as we temporarily share the same space with paragons and TBers, in the next 6-8 months kabam will start giving non-whale valiants better access to r4s (content, objectives, special spring cleaning and july 4 offers) and we'll eventually join the oil sheiks and business owners in the fancy room and finally leave the gross yucky disgusting paragons and TBers to themselves. that's how the game works.
sidenote: if we got more 7* shards and sig stones, it would only accelerate the economy and bring about 8*s even faster and we would complain about that too!
Oh ffs I DONT CARE ABOUT THE R4s, stop telling me I am put in a group to separate me from whales. How the heck do you know wether I am a heavy spender or not to be magically separating me from the whales? Do you want to know why I didn't spend on this event? Because the crystals were terrible. Why were they terrible? Because they were limited to what it was suitable for TBs. Funny you think that more 7* shards and sigs would accelerate 8*s... Its more r4s what would accelerate it not sig levels... You like comparing this event to CM so much, tell me why CM which is about a month apart from Banquet was progression gated and Banquet wasn't. I mean you like comparing them so much...
you're asking why cyber monday had a valiant specific progression gate but not banquet? because r4 mats didn't exist yet. after creating the new chase in december they had to shift the game, downgrade r3s, and also let the earlier guys catch up (or the game is toast).
me and you are stuck in a situation where we can't afford a $50k r4 so we have to wait for a clearance sale (objectives, content, spring cleaning, july 4).
7* shards and sig stones DO accelerate the game. extra shards fast forward the champ chase and sig stones are basically shards since we get 20 sigs from crystal openings.
when we run out of both shards and sigs and start having champs at sig 200, we start demanding rank ups and if that goes too fast kabam might have to slow rank progression which makes us bored or has to speed it up which means getting 8*s faster.
1- I don't know if you and I are in the same situation which is why I DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS ON YOUR ACCOUNT UNLIKE YOU. 2- There is a huge difference between getting an R4 at a 50k price, and wanting more chances to dup some champions, increase their sigs. 3- The value of this rewards are not even close to the same between myself with 115 7*s and a TB getting 7*s. 4- Huge difference between getting 30% drop rate on T6CC which I can buy easily from BG store and Glory store, as opposed to TBs who every season cry over matchmaking in BGs, and difficulty and cost of Raids (raids being huge on rewards and Glory)
This event was not designed for Valiants, you want to put the R4 issue? Well what about last year?... Its not now or this event or wether it was better than CM or not. For an active progressed Valiant this event was trash. Was it good for you? Good for you congratulations, glad it worked out; but you and I don't have the same needs or benefit in the same way. The difference is that I don't criticize your position. I criticize the event.
i have 130+ 7s but i'm missing a few key dupes and would have liked a better chance there but the milestones more than made up for it. you keep ignoring the value in the milestones which is why this conversation isn't going anywhere.
the main point of the banquet was to introduce a new rank and by default downgrade the second rank and make it more accessible to everyone else.
excuse me if i'm wrong but i'm assuming you're not a multi-millionaire who could afford new r4s, so given where we are in the game (a brand new rank), valiants like me, you, and the other 99.99% literally don't have the space to grow, but we will in the next 6-8 months (and paragons and TB'ers won't enjoy that same growth).
some group will always complain that they didn't get enough. if it's not us, in 6 months it will be the guy below us. it's always been like that. there is literally nothing new kabam could have added to comfort non-whale valiants, so all we can do it wait. don't worry, those "scrub" TB'ers who are partying it up right now will feel the pain later too.
Its not about getting enough or getting more, its about getting adequate rewards based on progression. The crystals were loaded of stuff that I can easily get from BG store and AQ store. The contents and some of the Milestones were designed to be good for TB and completely inadequate to a Valiant.
you say it's not about getting more, but then you say it wasn't adequate.
name something that they could have added to the SBCs that would have made it adequate without accelerating TBer progression too much. acceleration is a domino effect, if they give too much to the lower tiers they have to release the next ranks even faster. you have to look at it holistically.
yes...we didn't move much, and very few superwhales did, and a lot of TBer's did too, but that will change for us soon. it's gonna be ok.
I hope you guys analyse thoroughly not just the data from the event, but the huge backlash, it's been 8 years since i'm playing this game and i have never seen a banquet event being so criticized

Nah,..your comment about SBC’s just proves the point that TB should not have been grouped in with Valiants. I also think it’s unrealistic to think having more R3 mats available to Valiants through the event would diminish the value of R3 champs considering there is over 250 different options in the game right now and a majority of Valiants with only 5-30. The whales would have the R4’s and minimal amounts of R4 mats could easily continue. Valiants would get fair progression value rewards and have still have lot’s of interesting R3 options, and to think that making this available would force Kabam to “flood” the game with R4 mats seems a bit of an overstatement.
As valid as this point is, I think it is just as valid for people to criticize a prerecorded LIVEstream, emphasis on live.
If all Kabam wanted to do was put out a video then they could have just done that on their website. But to do a prerecorded livestream comes off as disingenuous and phoned in.

As valid as this point is, I think it is just as valid for people to criticize a prerecorded LIVEstream, emphasis on live.

there have been a series of poor decisions from kabams side in last month and they are quite adamant about it cuz they dont yet see it in numbers , if this continues they are gonna lose pretty soon. community is enraged about a lot of things
I remember when buying an Odin could be a game changer, its the time I spent more units on the Event and probably is the year that less changed for me, even tho I dropped the game for most of this year.
The same amount of money/units is just like 10% worth of what was worth like 3 to 4 years ago, disgusting.

In fairness to Kabam is that really their fault? Players and spenders drive the value of things, the game team has to assess that drive and assign value.
I say this agreeing with most about this event being designed poorly and having poor value at the expense of moderate spending valiant players.

Not really, Kabam decides the amount of Units you have to spend to get whatever they release, and the amount of units we need to get the equivalent stuff is higher than it was before, so we get less than we used to get.
I guess its for the "Health" of the game, so it doesnt die, but I think this almost makes it less enjoyable if you have to drop even more money or play a couple of hundreds of hours more of Arena to get what you used to get.
Overall what you got from banquet depending on how many crystals you opened WAS good…. It’s just that it was demoralizing opening up so many trashy feeling crystals to get there.
Videos that get the most views are crystal openings on YouTube which is a good gauge on what excites players the most. In an event that’s heavily focused on opening crystals that were hyped as being awesome, when the crystals end up being lackluster to disappointing then that just makes the whole event little fun, and FUN is what we’re all really here from the start.
Going forward, if you make sure that FUN is first for criteria, followed by profit then the game events will be in a way better place.
More FUN please. FUN CRYSTALS…. FUN CRYSTALS!!!! Drop rates in crystals that ultimately make opening crystals FUN!
In summary…. The banquet wasn’t FUN, but it was profitable

i know exactly what you mean, but loading the value onto the milestones that we can only get once instead of onto SBCs (where spenders can open an infinite amount) preserved the economy and was better for us overall.
what do you think a better solution is? how do we protect game economy while making a crystal fun?
All there really needed to be was a higher drop rate for 7* shards and Titan shards (with increased amounts of both), and lower drop rate for t5 and t6cc and the crystals would have felt way better and lead to more people getting to open champ crystals. Who cares if whales open more crystals? They likely already have all the champs at high sig and rank.
you have to spend 5k units to unlock tier 2 and 15k to unlock 3. is this worth 21k units???
or is this better for 19.2k?
hopefully this convinces some people of the overall good value of banquet.
Dude… banging this drum over and over again isn’t going to make you any more right or any more wrong. We get that this is your perspective on the event.
Those who are upset aren’t upset about the value, but the structure of the event, the misleading messages regarding SBCs and how the rewards were distributed in a way that utterly devalued progression.
Saying your position louder, more often, and now with pictures isn’t making it anymore convincing as you are still talking past us.

Give it up, I tried for a while yesterday. Genius doesn't realize that we are not comparing events. Doesn't realize that if we say Banquet was bad, it means CM was bad as well. Just because sometiing is better than something else doesn't mean it's good. I just decided to ignore him, cause its the equivalent of talking to a wall.
preserving game health by giving almost guaranteed great milestones and making SBCs less of a factor is better than blowing out the economy
my main goal of opening this thread was that if you have to look at this event in singularity , its not absolute trash and only negative points are horrendous drop rates and unit inflation. but there is more to it - 1. we were told they would look forward to do better than last time 2. the actual less value of tickets which were out for months and people spent their cash on was not conveyed 3. we were not notified about rise in amount of units required for good rewards 4. realm event was supposed to be add on but they are now saying look at it holistically 5. they completely went silent and didnt communicate properly and from their outlook it was success but never took into account the actual sentiment of the player base 6. they tried to compensate only by asking us to spend more( 3 7 stars which were added in realm event) 7. they had seemingly no intention of addressing issue and went on holidays whle ruining the most anticipated event ever as it was banquet event of the 10th anniversary
as you can see with this post i never argued that this banquet didnt give better rewards than any other preceeding event. the main and most significant point of disdain is how misinfofrmed we were , if we were better notified and they conveyed the message correctly we would have never spend the amount of units and money as we did. This all played out like a scam for us as we were not notified about it timely, we were led to believe something which was untrue , there answers for most of the stuff flipped after the event , during event they didnt communicate and all...

Yeah… I saw. And you’re right. There’s some martyrdom complex going on here.
If that report changes my mind about anything I will be sure to let people know.
hmm, let me guess "Analytics team reported that people spent more money this year than last year so this means that the event was a total success". Ignoring the fact that people spend more money because of the shiny new item in the crystals and the miniscule amount of it encourages the whales to spend way more than before just to get a lot of it. not only that but spends more and more money to outwhale other whales to get the top ranked rewards. "Analytics Team" won't prove anything.
And that's only considering the whales, the nonwhales probably were inclined to spend more money/units just to get the milestones, doesn't mean they are happy about it.

If all Kabam wanted to do was put out a video then they could have just done that on their website. But to do a prerecorded livestream comes off as disingenuous and phoned in.
