I am a lowly cav that does the 4* challenge itemless, nerfed act 6 champion i was doing 2 lanes in 1 go to save time itemless (bar refills not even a boost). It's a kick in the teeth seeing people that only ran through act 6 but bought all the cats available be further in progress than me. No biggie figure i could use this cyber weekend get some resources that help my act 6 push and more items that truly help my account to boot. I personally didn't ask for much just not a stupid r5 gem but the cats instead and swap that t5 random to a selector.
I'm at 50% of every single t5c 7 r2 6* 12 r5 5* (with 2 gems that meh I'll get around to) 19 r4 5*
31 6* in general 4 duped with rhulk at 60 dupe
And I can very easily have to decide (if I get t5c skill) if I want to r3 og dd for the title.

That's just it. Someone can make the argument that the Meta Champs are all that matter, Kabam shouldn't make garbage, no way in hell I'm taking an IP to R3, yadda, yadda, yadda. The fact is, that's a choice. The RNG argument only stretches as far as getting a Cat and having a Champ of that Class. It's still a choice not to Rank what we have.

3 now here's where the proverbial you know what hit the fan. When you came to the point where you were figuring out the offers for cavalier you did not take into consideration that these are the players that are trying to become thrown breaker and that cavalier players make up the majority of your player base. Meaning that most of the current players in the game are at the cavalier level. Instead of filling the offers with resources that would have aided players in acquiring the thronebreaker title y'all downgraded them (didn't improve them, I'm sorry but y'all dropped the ball) when compared to the offers we received on July 4th. Back in July the difference in the offers between uncollected and cavalier was drastic but most players were cavalier by that point so you were catering to the majority of your player base. That stopped this past Friday and everyone took notice except your marketing team 🤨
As was pointed out by one of the CCP members in a video, this whole thing isn't because the marketing team "forgot" anything, it was because they wanted to do a pure cash grab.
They already had the basic blueprints on what they offered from the 4th of July deals, and they fully knew what they were doing by creating these BF/Cyber weekend deals.
There was no logical reason NOT to offer different packages based on account status like they did on the 4th, if you want gems, go for that package, if you need rankup material pick this package, but, no, they wanted people to buy the offers instead of people using their units that they have been saving up.
You can see the Kabam response both before & during these sales. They stated that they will NOT change anything in the deals, before the deals landed. They stated that they will take this to the team for NEXT time when the deals were ongoing.
They aren't backing down at all, so, no this wasn't any type of mistake, it was just greed.

It wasn't about him specifically. I was displaying the difference between need versus want. What people need for the Title is one R3. What they want is an R3 that is on a very short list compared to what's out there. Which means they compound their own RNG issues.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kabam has the CCP.....they should run the offers by them. Lots are end game players that can give great feedback. Makes no sense not to involve them. This years offers were somewhat disappointing.
Make the thronebreaker deals so good. get the youtubers to whale out on it and showcase to the cavs how good, getting what they want. and in turn think that will make the cavs spend even more to get thronebreaker title faster for the next round of deals?

Nah I'm actually done with this stupid game and the company that runs it. These cyber weekend deals put me on the edge of leaving the game or staying. But after reading the gifting event announcement it's clear to me all Kabam wants is your wallet. Kabam, you say selectors should be a rare item yet you give a FULL t5cc selector to the top 30 people who can throw the most money at you in the span of 2 weeks. You also throw in a 10% selector every other week. So much for a rare item.

I'm a "low-tier" Cavalier player, with low spend level. The unpopular Cyber Weekend offers actually help me, and people in my demographic.
Most gains in this game (and life) are "relative": considered in relation to what other players gain. It's like one big race. You only need to outperform others to get better rewards. And it's only your results relative to others (including yourself in the past) that determine the quality of your rewards.
If you don't spend, then any cash offer the spenders don't buy helps you keep up with them. If you don't grind, they any unit offer the grinders don't buy helps you keep up with them. (unless it leads to issues that cause Kabam/others to reduce support for your gameplay: profit loss means cutting developer staff, community outcry means special rewards for other players not you, etc.)
I made Cav before July 4th, 2020. On July 4th, I got all the 5-Star Cav unit offers, and all the 3 lowest offers (which is much more than I normally spend). This gave me a stacked 5-Star Roster. Now all I need to do is get a R3 6-Star and finish Act 6. And I'm not that close. But with all the high-Cavalier players stuck at the R3 6-Star gate, I have the opening I need to catch up to them. And players behind me didn't have the same quality offers on Cyber Weekend that I got on July 4th, and I'm not stuck in progression, so they can't really catch up to me either.
The Cavalier drama issues are a "win" (in a PvP sense) for: 1) pay TB players (who can get ahead of all other players) 2) non-pay, non-grind Cav-and-below players (who can keep pace with pay and/or grind Cav-and-below players) 3) Cavalier players that (a) have stacked 5-Star rosters, but (b) aren't close to a R3 6-Star OR completing Act 6. (who can catchup to high-tier Cavalier players stuck at the R3 6-Star gate) (unless it leads Kabam/others to cut support for your gameplay)

Well, they already did. Miike said earlier that they are taking the feedback and learning from it for future deals. Beyond that, there really isn't anything left to say or do. They won't just change the deals now because that will cause a whole other sh*tstorm. If they change the deals, what about the people like myself who already bought them? Do we get new items as well and the people who buy the new deals only get the new stuff? Do the people who bought the deals already miss out on the new deals? Do they get to buy them again? There really isn't any good choice for Kabam, any way they do it, people will be mad. I for one would be pissed if the deals got changed now and I either didn't get the new stuff in my inbox or if they asked me to pay for the deals again since I bought the deals under the information that they would not change. If I would get sent the new stuff, people would be upset that I got to essentially double dip on some of the offers. The best thing to do is just leave it, unfortunately.

Did you even see the rewards for gifting event..just go look at the solo rank rewards.. Doesn't matter if I'm conqueror, UC, CV or TB.. If I spend money, I can get the best rewards in the game.. Even Hardest of the quests(Abyss 100%/Act6 100%) wont give me those rewards. Game balance and your statement "Spending is only one aspect. The amount alone means they'll be earning it, but stop and think. 120 people, versus how many would have jumped to TB this weekend. I can assure you the number would have been much higher. Game balance has nothing to do with allowing F2P to catch up to, or go head-to-head with, spenders. There is no F2P vs. P2P. You just can't keep up with them. Nor is there a race to compete with the people already at Thronebreaker. Anyone who is well into the Title and never even batted an eyelash when it came out is not competing with people struggling to get their first R3. I think people are overestimating their position. Game balance changes as the situation changes. It's not even a specific number tally so much as it is keeping an overall pace for growth. Even the whaliest of whales can't change the fact that there are limits on how much you can buy. The idea that game balance is a myth is just petulant.
