Though I often did the 1.5m in the 4* basic, 2 hr refresh made it pretty quick and easy. I would gather quick milestones with the rest of the roster when I could be bothered.
There is no way I will make the same units in the time spent because the refresh time for 5/6* is much longer so the point benefit of having them is offset by the time spent not having them.
I suppose its alright with a decent amount of them (I have quite a few 5* but stopped ranking junk champs due to cat shortages) but the milestones that equate the units I used to get are possibly more than I'm willing to commit.
I would need to have another go but at this stage, I feel like I am someone who got screwed by the changes to unit drops. I am certainly not someone that enjoys being in the arena but there is no other real unit source for FTP.
Just do the t1a and t4b arenas. Those are the only ones left worth doing - unless you are a whale.
If everyone stayed offline for 1 or 2 days Kabam would change it. Not hopeful. I will just do t4b and t1a. If they change those in a negative way I will for sure drop the game. I am 100% completed up to 6.2. I was going to start 6.3 in a bit but ... we will see what these guys do.

Bringing 4r4 or 5r2 into an arena with 6 stars allowed will cause death matches. It's sad but that's how it was with the 5 feature back then as well. Need 5r3 or 4r5. That's a reason why I liked the 4 feature arena, I was able to use my 5r2s and 4r4 cause no 6 stars in there.

That is simply because your champions are too low in PI. If you can keep them above 15000 together you should be save. It has always been this way in 5* featured aswell.
If 4* are actually usable here then you should have no issues using r4 and r3 4* but they are not. "This is how it has always been" does not make it right. They set out to improve arenas and I'm showing them areas that still need improvement.
They are technically usable but not with 3x 4*. If you pair a 4* with 2x r3 5* you should be good because you will be above 15k PI. If your masteries are atleast half decent. Not saying deathmatches should stay, but in the current system, this is not 'wrong'
Nope. The moment you attempt to pair 4* with 5* you get matched with 5* r5 running suicides or 6* r2. I have had it happen to me. Don't even think about pairing the with 6* r1. You get matched with r3 6*

The new arenas are 100% garbage. Nothing is worth while or attainable unless you spend $. If you're spending though, why grind arena? Just buy your champs. 1st time since I started playing years ago that I haven't entered arena, 1st time no one else in my alliance is entering arena, 1st time I've ever posted. I like the addition of the 6* arena, they just should have went about it differently. Most people enjoy new options in any aspect of their lives, when you deny them of existing ones they get sour. They should have learned this from the Hood buff.

Arena matchups have always been like that. Dip below a certain PI threshold and boom you’ll get a death squad.

Well somewhat yes. The ceiling raises based on the amount of highest Ranked Champs in the Arena. Because we have R3 Champs playing, the ceiling is higher. I wouldn't use anything lower than a 5* R3, and even then I'm cautious enough to throw a Boost on. This ceiling will raise again when R4s are introduced, but it always plateaus into a somewhat reliable number.

The bigger AI problem with the arenas at the moment is getting the same opponents over and over again. And, champions that take way too much time to beat (bc of regen or glancing), like Ant Man, Green Goblin, Angela or King Groot.
Not to mention how boring this is, and how much unpeeling makes the whole grinding process. Last night I had seven fights in a row, against the exact same trio: Green Goblin, Yellowjacket, Kingpin. I m playing to have a little fun, not having my nerves wrecked.
I think whats most concerning, is Kabam seems to be focused entirely only on whats to come instead the problems at hand. It feels like this issue isn't going to get any real attention from Kabam until everything else moving forward has been done. If that's the case, we won't be looking at any fixes or changes til like July or August. Next month and so on is going to be very busy with Grandmasters gauntlet, Summer of pain, changes to AQ, changes to AW, we just got Act 7.2.
All this has me concerned the arenas problem is just going to get placed on the back burner and be neglected for awhile. I hope I'm wrong but if not, I'm going to get seriously behind on completing content. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. There's tons of feedback already, they can't possibly need anymore.
I do find it concerning that there hasn’t been a response since Friday. I assume that means next arena cycle will be without updates or response.
I understand these things take time, but how much is the question. For me personally I am losing about 200 units a week from what I was previously able to achieve, so the impact will really start to add up.
The new arenas are horrible!!! Decreased rewards. Fights that are not fair. Heroes with powers that are new to the arena. Way too much work for any success or a run of victories.
2nd run of new arena and I think I got a whole 25 units this time. This is absurd. I used to get a whole lot more than that. As has been said countless times already the units per milestone need increased, they need to be front loaded into the earlier milestones and the milestone point thresholds need severely lowered.
One thing I hate is that i could get the first two or three milestones in every arena pretty fast. I would mainly do this to get the units for energy but now I won't get as much and have to grind for them. I quit grinding arena 2 years ago since it is just a whales game but I would at least get around 100 units every week just from doing that but now I get half of that. Just revert the arenas back to what they were because this sucks.

This doesn't really make sense. Some people grind both for shard rewards so the rewards would have to basically double in the arena you choose. Second, cutoffs for ranked rewards will be higher, if anything, and champion cut off will remain the same. Not a single person that can grind for a champ is grinding for both. That's far too much effort and just isn't being done. What can be done currently is someone grinds for a champion or high ranked rewards in one arena and puts up just more than the ranked rewards cut off in the other inflating the pool which is good for everyone. So your suggestion would not reduce the cut offs, would likely lower the pool of players per arena resulting in even less people getting ranked rewards, would lead to less choice in the community since you're limited to one set of milestones (can't get both a featured milestone with say the 4* and the basic milestone with the 4*).

I get they kept it for this round, because some 6* grinders were waiting for the second round to go for their target. And the same thing can be said for the next one since Ibom will be wanted as a 6* aswell. Eventhou 80%+ don`t like this change does not mean they should hurt the 20% that does. Just hope they find a middle ground soon so the unit grinders can get their units in in time. I for one am really glad I already had 16.5k units when this all started.

I agree there needs to be a middle ground with how it's set up but it can't be done in one day soooo for now this is what it is and all we can do is hold out.
After having a little more time with the arena, here are my thoughts on the new structure:
PROS: - Grandmaster shards are an improvement over the PHC shards - The 3&4* Champs are now in milestones in the 4-6* arenas - 4* and lower arena has been combined, making it cleaner and more manageable to obtain milestones
CONS: - Myself, like many other summoners, simply don't have the depth in their 6* and 5* roster to even start putting a dent in the bigger arenas (I never intend on going for top 100, just cant dedicate that kind of time to a grind even if I had the roster) - The grind for units has exponentially gone up in time, making the grind much longer - With small rosters, deathmatches cause me to lose my streak so I am in the habit of throwing my 10th round, I will bring one stronger character, and two weak ones, intentionally winning one to throw the round and start over. This is the only way I can manage to barely hit the minimum rank rewards
Potential Suggestions: 1. Lower the milestones and/or increase the units per milestone 2. Maybe make it so the 4* and lower arena has 70% of the earnable units, most of which are in the lower portion of the milestones, this allows casual summoners to grind for units, and the hardcore to push for rank rewards (similar to how you put most of the gold in the first few milestones instead of evenly spread-out) 3. maybe eliminate the Thanos teams from having 6* r5 teams when I'm using 2 6* r1 and a 4* r1 on streak 5 4. Introduce a toggle system option that will allow me to earn points in both the 4-6* arenas at once, spread evenly. I.E. if I earn 60k points in one round, if the option is toggled i will instead earn 30k between the two arenas. (better chance of retaining infinite streak for those of us with slim rosters) - this will allow for the more casual players to hit milestones that aren't trying to specifically hit high with rank rewards 5. If these arenas aren't going to change, maybe consider changing the T4B and T1A arena milestones much lower, or allow us to use our champs in there and put them on a separate cooldown timer 6. Just as an added bonus, maybe remove the gold cost associated for arenas.
