Im sorry but i don’t see any other way to interpret this besides rating not counting. How else would a war not count towards the season???
Theres no oversight here. I feel you are just plain lying to us at this point. Please reset ratings/tiers from this war ASAP. Season 36 cannot start until this is fixed.
War Rating and Season Score are two completely different things, but I can see how they would be conflated. The Goal here was ONLY to mention the Season, and not War Rating, but that should have been explicit.
War rating impacts season score. If they relate to each other then they aren’t two completely different things. They aren’t mutually exclusive. Tell me otherwise and I’ll accept the outcome
How is it reasonable to adjust Wars for Alliances that weren't affected?
Every alliance who saw this message and said not to worry about the war results are affected. We just lost 52 war rating under this premise and will be stuck in a lower tier as a result

To the overall end, it isn't going to matter. Points from all Alliances are discounted. The end result is a tally based on all Points respective to each other.
Easiest solution is to just take a breath, stop the season until next Wednesday. Revert the rating changes and calmly look into the game crashes that are occurring in game.
We all know nothing happens on the weekend. Letting this go on for another few days will just cause more stress and needless drama especially since no one will be at Kabam to handle the issues if the game crashes persist or if the blacklist doesn’t work as well.

These are not two different things if until now they always came together when you had to cancel a war, and you never mentioned them separately before. I'm sure that many alliances would put more effort into this war if they would've know that it's going to affect War rating.

You’re wrong. The points available in War 2 will be lower because the Tier multiplier is lower. This war that “doesn’t count” has reduced the total available points in the season for this Alliance.
How could anyone who understands the game (or even math) make a case that they are not related? Tell this to an ally trying to get into tier 3 so they can get a 6x multiplier instead of 4.5. It is huge.

If an alliance drops from T1 to T2 they lose 190,000 points instantly from a win, or 160,000 with a loss. This can be the difference between a bracket at the end.
It’s disingenuous to say it’s not going to matter, because it quite literally is guaranteed to matter for some alliances. This is not my opinion, this is a fact.
Now, if your opinion is that it would cause more issues then that’s a fine opinion to have. But you have to deal with facts, it’s dishonest not to.
Can we just cancel this season already? With all these bugs happening, then start the next one when everything is working as intended with the updated rewards

Disagree. We were tier 3 at the end of last season and got pushed to tier 4 suddenly this season so winning was important for us to get back to tier 3. We now lost this war because we were told it didn’t matter and now we will likely have to win three more wars to get back to where we belong

I'm trying to genuinely wrap my head around this...
So Kabam is saying war rating, doesn't impact season score in any way?
Because the way the people on this thread are interpreting the game message, and I have to agree, is that that the drop in war rating DOES impact the season score, which impacts the season result, but it was said that the season would not be impacted, which can't be true if the war rating does impact the points.
As soon as people heard the war wouldn't count, they didn't bother to boost or even make an effort to explore or win because it should not have counted in any way.
Without being negatively critical, this is a terrible way to handle this. If a war doesn't count, it shouldn't impact ANYTHING. This clearly has a negative impact for those who lost this war - and a lot of these losses were due to the war bugs letting in banned fighters, the war fights crashing the game, and the email basically telling people it didn't count so need to make an effort to win it.

One War is not going to change the final outcome greatly. It has an effect, yes. In a technical sense. When the Season is over, it isn't going to change the outcome in any great sense. One War does not make a Season.
I think one look at the community’s reaction would tell you what you need to know. I think it’s in the best interest of everyone to move the war season back a week, work on fixing everything that needs to be fixed, and come back with the unchanged War ratings from pre-today

... U lose a multiplier for scoring...its NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND...
I'll give u an easier example.. Lose a streak in arenas.. u gotta win 5 sets of matches again to gain that 3x multiplier... Well dropped tier alliances now have to win 1 or 2 wars to get back to their tier and get the points at the right multiplier.. therefore... IT AFFECTS THE END

I’m not going to debate you on this, because we know how you are when you decide to die on a hill. But just know you’re very wrong, and not even about something that’s debatable. It’s a simple fact that this rating change will cause people to miss out on the bracket above.
Yes, and what does that Bracket do? Awards more Points. What are those Points useful for? Scoring amongst other Alliances. Effectively, the Season is a redo, with a War Rating starting where they left off after the issue. Yes, some Alliances moved because their War Rating dropped (a very small amount I might add), but they're going to recover presuming they win, and the Points relative to other Alliances moving forward will balance out. There's a difference between competitiveness and fanaticism.
Another thing that hasn't been mentioned is we have members that run suicides. In off-season, placing w/ suicides is allowed but when season is ON... It's not a viable option when contending for a Masters slot.
Taking off suicides for placing defense and putting back on for attack cost real units. It's not something that should be overlooked. This is a common practice amongst top alliances competing. I don't do this personally but players that do this should be well aware of when the war is going to count for the actual Season or not to not waste the hard earned units (whether grinded for or paid for).

Completely different things and yet they are still directly correlated!
People who don’t play in the top end of the game probably shouldn’t comment on end game issues. For most ally g1 or lower the latest screwup has modest impact. But I really hate it when someone who plays g2 or g3 war tries to explain how things impact a p1 or p2 ally. Seriously just stop. You aren’t right. Saying the same thing 72 times will not make you right. You just aren’t able to understand and look foolish.

Doesn’t even matter where they place if they are in t7 or below they don’t know what a locked war rating even is in the off-season, to them a war not counting is exactly how this was, for those of us in t6 and above we understand off-season=doesn’t count=war rating locked.
@GroundedWisdom@Kabam Miike so our alliance was tier 3 at the end of last war. We got pushed down to tier 4 at the start of the season for reasons we’re still unsure of. We wanted to move up to tier 3 again by winning the war but saw this war “didn’t count”. We’re now 52 alliance war rating lower and stuck in tier 4 gaining a 4.5x multiplier instead of a 6x multiplier. Even if we win we’re still going down in ranks and this war just brought us down further

I mean I’m finding it really hard to understand. Better yet, if it’s an ‘oversight’ why don’t you reverse the war rating.
And finally how can you possibly see this as fair given the +/- for alliances in a ‘non competitive war’
The truth would be greatly appreciated

Placement phase is beginning soon... At what time will the call be made whether this next war counts or not (and for what it will / won't count)?

With this and the "Dear Sister" synergy, Kabam has cut so many corners, it is now a circle.
