Meanwhile the t5b price for Thronebreaker players has been updated once in 23 months, and 8.1 offered fewer t5b on paths than 7.4 did.
If we are being honest, there has never been a moment in time in this game where you could get more stuff for less time. But it has always been the case that people have been complaining about the good old days when things were better. I can't imagine what they were saying on launch day, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were already people saying how much better the game was back in the good old times of several hours ago.
Got it! 😉
As for the second part, there’s a progression wall that HAS to be burning out summoners. In this regard, maybe 7-stars are coming at the perfect time, even if many are dubious of their introduction.
I maxed out 50 5-stars. I have 45 6-stars at r2+. Only 9 of those overlap. In other words, I’ve got 86 different champs at 5r5 or better, including 36 at 6r3+. There’s only so much utility to be harvested from the game’s roster.
I think the nihilism of “wow, I guess I’m gonna burn 4 t5b and a t5cc to make my 40th best champ 18% better” makes people miss the days where 2 basics would get you a substantial boost in a 5-star and those rankups were more meaningful.
Hitting the progression wall is *precisely* what happens when the game's reward system has ratcheted upward to the point that many players can completely saturate the current limits of the reward trees. I mean, you say you disagree with me, but then you use as evidence the exact same thing I would use to support the statement that it has never been easier to earn rewards in the game. You'd be exhibit #1.
In fact, you spike the football when you say people remember when rank ups were more meaningful. They used to be more meaningful, because they were much harder to make, and thus each one had a substantial impact. What made them impactful was their rarity, not their commonality.
I need to use 7 t5b for the rankup of a new champ to be consequential. 23 months ago, I could regularly invest two t5b and have a viable champ. The price has changed once in the time.
