Kabam has not been silent on this. One of the mods or devs said here on the forums that they were exploring way to change matchmaking. They did not say it would happen for this season, and I hope they tread carefully before making any changes. What makes one group happier will likely anger another group of players.
I've been extremely vocal on my disgust for BG matchmaking since season 2 but I've had enough at this point. It took 3 seasons just to get a a mod to acknowledge the issue and now it's an indefinite maybe something will change at some time in the games lifespan.
I'm personally just hitting the objectives from this point on and not a match more until something changes. I encourage other higher developed rosters to do the same. As long as we keep feeding Into this, nothing is going to change.

You're not wrong about the comment they made, but it ignores the fact that that comment was made weeks ago....in the middle of season 5 of I'm not mistaken.
And again, you're right, they did not say anything would change in season 6. Conversely, they did not say there would NOT be changes to season 6.
All that said, with how popular of a topic matchmaking has been, regardless of what side of the aisle you're on, to drop a new season without even a single statement saying "We didn't change matchmaking" or "We made the following changes to matchmaking" is in fact, silence.

No, Miike commented the other day.
I must have missed that. Which thread was it in? Obviously not this one.

Are you referring to this one, where the subject of the post is kick starting based on where you finished the previous season?
Cause in my opinion, while that is a fundamental problem with battlegrounds, and warrants a change, it shouldn't be confused with matchmaking.
If I decide not to put any effort into this season, and they implement the kick start next season based on this season's ranks, myself, and probably plenty of others, will still only face each other in Bronze next season, because the fundamental matchmaking algorithm hasn't changed.
So no, he, nor anyone else, has made a comment related to matchmaking in weeks.
lol obviously the single derailer who doesnt really play BGs has to be responded to. Why doesnt everyone have him on mute? It is infuriating that any thread is filled with responses to someone who doesnt play the game.
@mgj0630 thats a pretty milquetoast, vanilla “we are looking at things” comment from Miike. They should anticipate further discontent if that’s all they have to offer, especially after last season’s bugs and leaderboard fiasco.
That's the same subject. They're working on implementing something for a number of issues, but no concrete timeline.
Well when you make such a compelling argument for them being the same, I guess I have no choice but to concede.
What you believe is entirely up to you, but I'm pretty sure they're part-and-parcel. Perhaps someone from Kabam can offer more information, but I'm going on what's available.

If this this is fundamental story of Kabams communication strategy. BG matchmaking is a massive issue and we get the typical generic response of “we’re looking into it”. The matchmaking issue is not a new phenomenon, they have plenty of time to “look into it”.
That doesn’t mean the resolution is an immediate fix, but if they are able to post the next 3 seasons of nodes for BG, we deserve a proper pinned thread that Kabam starts stating they recognise matchmaking is broken and tell us what the plan is. It’s no good treating this like masteries 2.0 and not providing us with us updates. I never understand why Kabam doesn’t want to be on the front foot with things like this and be ahead of any discontent.
Provide us with an update that signposts us to the changes we should expect over the next 3 - 5 season. It’s not like this is a new issue, they must surely hate a plan by now. If they don’t want to tell us then that’s fine. Then don’t be surprised if more and more people to give up on the mode.

I was already doing only objectives since last season (Paragon 3,9mil) but I can’t do even those now:
To be honest I’d rather not play BGs at all at this point. Waste of time and resources for veteran accounts. I’ll keep playing and enjoying the easy OP rewards on my ftp account though 😉 If Kabam wants Veteran accounts out of the mode, then be my guest 🙂 Also if Kabam thinks that I’ll keep spending over 1k € annually on my main account, to get my effort in game and my money disrespected (since they cater BGs to small ftp accounts) they are fooled big time 😠
Seriously considering just putting in a 3 star roster to end the play 3 matches objective as quickly as possible.
No interest in this mode with VT still a matchmaking a nightmare if you have any sort of an account. Nothing like burning daylight in bronze for no reason.

@kabam Plz make a comment on matchmaking system.
If you play it, expect problems that will cost you a win.
Think we can only assume there's no change for season 5.
It'll be another "minimum effort" (only enough to complete those 72 hour objectives) for me.
Hold my beer 🍺

Those four matches left me right where I was. So…there’s your answer.

I was sandbagged by multiple accounts that had 1, 2 or 3 r5 six stars.
