R5 Hulkling or R2 Gorr?

PolygonPolygon Member Posts: 4,547 ★★★★★
Normally I’d do Hulkling since my focus is BGs but I’m torn because of the next progression title most likely being tied to 7 stars.

Luckily I do have a shuri that I’m targetting to r2 but if the next title requires more than one r2 , then I’m out of luck as my 7*’s arent the best. (Unless i do Gorr over Hulkling)

I have no r5’s either, Hulkling would be my first.

I have both Gorr (havnt pulled the trigger on Gorr, but i can r2 him right now.) and Hulkling at r5 is a must. I would easily take my 6*r5 Hulkling over 7* Gorr any day. He wrecks so much stuff.

Full discretion, im also not a fan of playing Gorr and someone in my war group already has a r2 on defense. So i really dont see the need to rank him right now 🤷‍♂️

@Bulmkt Care to explain? Hulkling is the best 6* to r5 for BGs. 2nd is probably Kingpin

Gorr is great, but I'm assuming your Hulkling is awakened, your Gorr is not. Also if you have no R5 or R2 you need to build your roster up and it is a lot cheaper to R5 a 6* than to R2 a 7*.

I kept hulkling unduped intentionally to prevent him from being banned , though now it probably won’t be an issue , but im assuming if i r5ed him it would be. I dont think the dupe makes much difference for BGs?

Dupe makes a pretty decent difference. It’s increased buff duration right?

Yeah. 3 extra seconds at sig 200. Id give him cosmic stones, but not generics (albeit that’s with me not knowing much about Adam Warlock)

What does that have to do with how good Hulkling is lmao. Hulkling is a better champ in battlegrounds on both offense and defense.

Hulkling. All day, everyday. Pierce, bulwark, aptitude, regen, fury, unblockable. Such a great and hassle free way to end fights. Pick your poison, I guess?

    @Feeney234 @OKAYGang @Ironman3000 @BeastDad

Thanks for the insight, i know the obvious choice is Hulkling. The only reason I was considering Gorr was because of the next progression title (to have more 7r2 besides Shuri). You can bet it’ll be tied to 7 stars

But also, i have a feeling r5 gems will be more common. Things like 8.3 exploration, or cyber monday unit deals etc. speaking of, i looked at the july 4 deals last year , and look how mediocre and easily obtainable the stuff in the odin are. Thats a t5cc thats covered.

Now im still going to do Hulkling, but If this trend continues, it may be potentially optimal to start focusing the use of t6cc on 7 stars.

Its the most relevant game mode though until they buff alliance content and even then it may not be on par with BGs.

Dupe on Hulkling and Gorr both make a huge difference on their damage output in all game modes and they both benefit from higher sig levels as well. With Hulking you make his furies and Peirce/armor penetration longer and more potent. With Gorr, you add unblockable, increase the length of his personal debuffs and the potency of the DoT debuffs he places on the opponent, unlock the real power behind his l2 and l3 specials, especially his l2.

Its bulwark not pierce for hulkling, I would’ve sigged him to 200 by now if it was pierce. Gorrs debuff duration and potency doesnt seem much for the sig 20
