Day 8 Recap!
In one word : game-changing.
So we started off at 8.2.5 and have gone all the way to act 8 completion today so here we go:
8.2.5 (Sabretooth lane) 3 revives, the lane itself was fine but sersi did some bad things to me, just couldn’t get a grip of the fight
8.2.6 (Sentry lane) 0 revives, skill lane that fit cheelith perfectly
Then it was time for the Bahamet boss. Cheelith absolutely destroyed him. I didn’t expect to get a solo but wow the bleed damage in his wounded phase is insane.
Soooooo then I had 2 6 stars to open. One of the 6 stars landed on an ok champ I guess. If you watch the YouTube video, it almost rolled over and then didn’t. We have a 6 star Kate Bishop!!!!!!! Thankfully there wasn’t audio because I may have let out a yelp when it didn’t roll over.
So with the necropolis counter sorted, I jumped straight into 8.3:
8.3.1 (Nighthrasher lane) 1 revive, enhanced energy damage made Kate insane
8.3.2 (Superior iron man lane) 0 revives, another lane with 400% sp2 damage made Chavez destroy
8.3.3 (Dr Octopus lane) 1 team revive, I only had 3 champs with strikers so had to revive the whole team
8.3.4 (Gladiator Hulk lane) 0 revives, a lane that wanted bleed debuffs so cheelith was very good
8.3.5 (Sigil Witch lane) 0 revives, I managed to get 6 star Kate to r3 at this point, so started to steamroll lanes
8.3.6 (Spidey lane) 0 revives, coldsnap vulnerability means Kate did triple damage
Onto the Cerastes boss. I nearly soloed this guy with cheelith as well, sadly died at the final phase but then cleaned up with guardian. No revives needed.
8.3 rewards got me to my 1st 7 star, and I pulled a very good one in domino. Her damage can be absolutely crazy and hopefully I get a mutant gem from necropolis or act 8 exploration. Rest of the rewards was pretty meh.
Time for 8.4, this got rough in some areas I’ll be honest:
8.4.1 (Agent Venom lane) 1 team revive, Chavez boss was pretty tough for my roster
8.4.2 (cgr lane) 3 revives, some tough opponents on this lane, but at least it’s out the way for exploration
8.4.3 (Jane Foster lane) 2 revives, this is another tough lane, dragon man was being very annoying with his power gain
8.4.4 (Red Goblin lane) 1 revive, another weapon node that wasn’t too tough
8.4.5 (Daredevil lane) 1 team revive, this lane was annoying cause I only had 3 champs with a relic, and you essentially needed one for this lane
8.4.6 (Red Guardian lane) 1 team revive, another lane that wanted relics when I didn’t have them all.
Then it was time for Glykhan. I’ll be honest this fight scared me a lot, but pulling the domino from 8.3 made me a bit happier. It ended up costing me an additional 2 team revives, which wasn’t great but I was also ok with it because the other 2 times I will have a much stronger team.
And with that, Act 8 completion was done! The rewards from this are mostly guaranteed rewards like gems and ascension dust, but I did also get 2 7 stars. Gamora and stryfe was solid pulls, they will help during exploration of act 8 for class lanes.
Combining the mystic gem from 8.3 and the 2 generic gems for 8.4, I was able to take Chavez, Kate and guardian all to rank 4, and achieved Paragon in 8 days, beating my previous record of 9 days. I’m now one title away from Valiant 😃 (if only it was that simple).
I ploughed everything into Kate bishop, all the iso, the ascension dust, and eventually the 4-5 gem from completion to make her as strong as possible. She is gonna be my necropolis clearer, so at least that part is checked off for now.
Tomorrow I move back to University, so likely won’t do too much. Probably gonna grind iso from incursions, eq and side quest to take up Kate as much as possible, then put any extra iso into the other champs. I may also complete Road to the Labyrinth, as 3 energy refills gets you 360 units which is great value.
From day 10 onwards, it’s gonna be act 8 exploration, and necropolis will likely be the final showdown for Valiant.
