Why no Father’s Day event?

If you can do a pride event why not do a Father’s Day event? If you wanna include everybody include everybody.

Not to nitpick, but Pride has always included those who are Allies. Now, the definition of an Ally has always been a subject of contention. Some people feel it's only those heterosexuals who march and take a political stand. I'm not as fundamentalist in my ideals. For me, an Ally is anyone who accepts us and supports the cause.
The spirit of Pride, however misconstrued, has always been about acceptance and inclusion. It saddens me to see that rejection can even take place in my community the same way racism can lead to racism on the other side, but humans be humin'.

Maybe one like Descendants Day, that should include everyone. Oxygen User Day or Carbon Based Organism Day can also work. I am a father and feel like everyday is a great day to be a father already (but I like free stuff too).

Okay and what happens then with those that aren't allies? Cause I never said anything about allies I said "not everyone celebrates Pride" which is true, homophobes obviously don't celebrate Pride.
The idea that "not everyone is this or that therefore celebrating it or not celebrating it doesn't matter" is just wrong. Different people will celebrate different things and that's fine, diversity and cultural differences are fine. I'm not a Taoist or a Buddhist does that mean I have the right to say not everyone is Taoist or Buddhist therefore we shouldn't have a Lunar New Year event?

I just want to jump in and explain that Pride isn’t a holiday in the way that Mother’s or Father’s Day is, and that the difference there may be the explanation you’re looking for.

As a general rule, parenthood is celebrated. It’s universally recognized as important for keeping the species going. With some extremely rare exceptions, nobody experiences prejudice or societal punishments from becoming a parent. As such, these holidays are meant to be a celebration of parents, thanking them for doing what they do.

Pride is different. The point of Pride isn’t to celebrate that which is already universally recognized as a good thing. It is to make sure that people from the LQBTQ+ community know that they are still people, still worthy of love and respect the same as anybody else. And it’s important to have that recognition, loudly and publicly, because there are many places in which a member of that community could live their whole life and not receive that kind of acceptance.

Mother’s/Father’s Day is a celebration of that which society has deemed laudable. Pride is standing up against the elements of society who would spread hate against a group who has done nothing to harm them or anybody else.

Both of these things are important. I’m not trying to argue that one is better than the other. But they are different from each other, and so it is not really an apt comparison to ask why Pride gets recognized but Father’s Day doesn’t.

Stop with this whataboutism. Every day of the year has some meaning attached to it, that doesn't mean they have to celebrate everything. Kabam will celebrate only those days which are profitable and which they feel important.

Pride is important, pride is profitable - Father's day isn't.

And nothing boils my blood than "Men's mental health awareness month". Apparently the ones who yap about this month is probably the reason for the depression of gay men, trans men, Atheist men, men from minority races and religions, men who are skinny and fat, and disabled men. SMH. Hypocrisy has a limit.

If y'all really want father's day and men's mental health month to be celebrated, First celebrate it yourself and popularize it. Y'all bring these days only when pride month and women's day are mentioned, Y'all don't love fathers and men, y'all just hate gays and women. Atleast admit it.

As was pointed out when the same question was asked about Mother's Day last month..

(ok, not the SAME question, I think then just asked about Mother's Day itself, and didn’t tie it in with showing that they don’t like the phenomenon of sunlight reflecting off of the back of water droplets in the atmosphere at different angles for different frequencies of light that makes up the sun's rays. And btw, if anyone is curious about double, triple, or even more, reflections of the rays within the water droplets before exiting back out, resulting in further angular displacements for each successive reflection, it is an interesting read)

Mother's + Father's Days in the U.S. are not necessarily the same day as elsewhere around the world (it is probably different all over the place).

Father’s Day in the US and UK (and most other places on the planet) was yesterday 16 June.
In Australia Father’s Day is 1 Sept .
The difference is seasonal. In Australia 1 Sept is the first day of Spring. If Australians celebrated Father’s Day like the northern hemisphere does it would be in the middle of our winter.

Nevertheless it’s a valid celebration but this game for whatever reason doesn’t celebrate it.

Well said, I signed up to the forums thinking we were all here to discuss the game. A very sharp contrast to how recently everyone likes to discuss their views and beliefs and mob on each other, considering this is like the 5th thread I've seen of this sort of debacle since the pride event came out.

I'd love a father's day event. I think it shows a lot of appreciation for dads and everything they do, especially the single ones, raising kids all by themselves. But I also do think that most of the dad characters we do have are not exactly worth celebrating *looking at you, Odin*

I don't know how old you are, but if you are not old enough yet, or it has not dawned on you yet, after about the age of 21, no one really cares about a man anymore 😉

But I completely agree, if we can celebrate Pride and Women's Day, why not Father's Day? June is "Men's Mental Health Awareness Month"...how much have you heard about it this month in the media? Not much, if anything at all…because no one really cares about men.

I don’t usually acknowledge disagrees, except to make fun of them, but this would be one of those times that warrants an exception.

If you’re one of those people who just doesn’t like me, I don’t really care. But as Slashdot used to reference, if you’re one of the Anonymous Cowards who has a problem with this topic, and I’m specifically an easy target to vent that disagreement towards, then congratulations: you’re why Kabam goes out of their way to publicize International Women’s Day and Pride month.

It’s easy to find and ban the overt bigots. It’s the much larger numbear of less obvious bigotry that can’t really be dealt with on any direct level. We can only reach out to everyone else and continue to emphasize the degree of the problems and the need for continued vigilance.

We can’t tell one Anonymous Coward from another. We simply have to assume that there are still people reflexively biased against addressing representational problems past and present, and so long as those people exist, the need to continue highlighting events like this will also continue to exist.

Continue to make yourselves known, so we know we still have more work to do. And if you are one of those people who just doesn’t like me, but has no issue with representation events, then try to separate yourselves from the bottom feeders. Maybe lol my posts instead just this once.
