There are people in the community that don't like a content creator because he's not an elite player and gets info wrong? That's quite silly! I feel like that part of the post is kinda pointless! Saying some prayers for Prof because he's a super genuine man and I hope whatever is going on it becomes resolved!
I feel whether we like it or not, this game’s CC community and some of the fan base is very divided much like high school cliques. You have your “cool kids” club which is your Seatin, Brian Grant, KM, Lags, MSD, etc. Your loner types like KT1 and Nagase, and then those who might have fans of their own, but aren’t getting the hundreds of viewers per live stream and make an easier target for others such as Prof.
I have found value in most all of these people’s channels or content they’ve put out, but fan bases, especially ones that get a bit too parasocial, can be really weird or even downright cruel at times to others they don’t frequent.
I have been watching him pretty much daily for the past 2 years or so. After seeing this I honestly get the feeling that this is some sort of manic episode. Probably a month or so back he started changing up his content a bit. He had went home to see his family, and then on return he started doing less content. Then he announced that he was going to start a free to play account, started doing a livestream where he was raising money for his home town (and had his place broken into earlier that day). He was really happy with how it went and seems to have now shifted to that being this all encompassing goal. His Twitter is also a little out there as of recent. Between that, his recent engagement to his fiance Israel, he has a larger work load at the university, wondering if just all the stress got to him. That mixed with mental health struggles is really hard. Hope he is doing all right.
Luckily this isn’t happening in the middle of the semester when school’s in session. Don’t know how the university will take this with one of their faculty displaying this behavior on social media considering how fast things blow up nowadays. I personally found him entertaining no matter whether the information he was providing was correct or incorrect. So I’ll judge him on entertainment and that was the reason I viewed his contents. Hopes he’s able to sort out whatever matters he’s dealing with.

There are in fact people who cannot separate dislike for content with dislike for creator. I myself have had issues with some of Prof Hoff's content over the years, but I have also defended his right to produce it as well. I do not watch his channel religiously, but I hope he resolves whatever issues he's having recently.
Just want to pop in and say: I'm proud of you all. This is a delicate topic and you've all approached it with sympathy, concern and love. This thread is an example of the MCOC Community at it's best and you should all be proud.

We don’t have the full picture, it would be irresponsible to speculate on the situation. All we can and should do is pass along well wishes and respect his and his loved ones privacy. If Prof chooses to disclose information later, that’s his decision.

Regardless of his content, I’ve found him pretty entertaining. I’ve watched his videos when I was new to the game and he gave me plethora of information. Mental health is one delicate topic and is the essence of what drives us in our daily lives. I hope he finds help/gets help to understand his situation better.
Mental health is one of the worst struggles we can go through because it strikes at our very sense of self, isolating us from those around us. It is a cruel and manipulative trickster, twisting our very thoughts against us.
Whatever the nature is of Prof Hoff's difficulties, we don't need to know. But what we can do for anyone who is struggling mentally, for whatever reason, it to let them know that they aren't alone.
I've been watching Proff's vids ever since I first started playing the game. I always found his criticism and grading of the offers and bundles to be funny, since we were on the same page about a lot of them.
Got matched against him in BGs one day. We went all 3 rounds, but we both sucked at the fights and got a good laugh out of it.
Someone on his YouTube said he had been sleep deprived. As someone who suffered badly from sleep deprivation, I can tell you that it is no joke and can have some serious effects.
I hate to see him going through this, and hope that he gets the mental and physical rest he needs. 🙏🏽❤️
I watch his videos almost every day. I've always loved that he does videos on other player's crystal openings. He's showcased mine a couple of times. Having a busy life outside of this, a family, a full time job, and running a full time youtube channel is a hard thing to do. I would never want that. I give kudos to all the youtubers (that's how I found out about the game was through a random Prof video about 6 years ago) you guys "GO! GO! GO!" all the time to push this game so it stays alive. Prof, we care about you and look forward to seeing you return triumphantly! Warms my heart a little bit seeing the love/support in here.
