I remember waiting for the energy to reach zero before asking for help. I didn't realize you can ask for energy help at anytime. What a clown I was.

Not really from when I started with the game, but it coincides with when I started being active on the forum so I hope this story counts:

Back then, I used to love Punisher 2099. I still think his ability to completely shut down his opponent's combat power rate is an insanely useful ability. However, as powerful as it is, it can also put you in very weird situations. I found that out when I took him against a Thing. As soon as Punisher 2099's Overdrive kicked in and Thing wasn't gaining any more power, his rock stacks became absolutely impossible to manage. He'd get to 15 but then there was no way for him to get enough power to throw a special, so he was just constantly at 15 rock stacks unless I hit him and activated his unstoppable. Then I'd get pummeled for a while, before I could land three more hits before he was up to 15 again.

One of the most frustrating fights I've ever had.

Except for maybe that time I took a champion without the ability to inflict shocks into a Thunderstruck fight against King Groot. He was just not taking any damage + healing constantly. It was probably the most infuriating fight I've ever had. For some reason, I was determined to get through it so I was in there for ages, just trying to whittle him down somehow. I think I eventually got through him but wooooo. *traumatic flashbacks*

My favorite Noob story is about the time I didn't play SQ for several months. Eventually, I submitted a support ticket because I thought the game was broken. I kept unknowingly hitting the auto-fight button, and I didn't understand why my champions would move on their own. The really embarrassing part is when they finally explained the issue to me, I just shrugged my shoulders, said "Oh," and moved on... LOL!

    I bought the 2000 unit 4* offer.

    Twice.

Now that one hurts, and unfortunately I can relate to it all too well.

Great story, and that absolutely counts.
I remember trying to fight The Champion (pre-nerf) with non nullify/stagger champs. I can’t even tell you, how long I was in that fight for- because I was determined to beat it.

Glad they got rid of the selling of champs. Had an alliance member quit because his girlfriend got mad at him and sold most of his champs. Think she left him with a couple low star champs. Ouch.

    That is just… unforgivable. Ouch.

there wasn't a thing called 'monthly eq' at the start of the game. iirc, ultron one was the first, a few months after the game launched

I remember when I first started, I actually thought I was playing other Players in the Arena.

dang same lol, also I did not know that we could change matchups in arenas, the amount of times I've had to face havok/torch with energy champs is insane lol, found out like 2 years after I started the game.

When I first started playing I sold all of my 1 & 2 star champs until I told an alliance mate and they freaked out 😆. I've had to purchase 1* Champs for 25 units at the store for content :/

That was me. I would set up my lineup to make sure I had class advantage if possible and click fight right away thinkng that would give my opponent less time to do it. I was like, I got one over my opponent again, "You're are too slow buddy". It took me awhile to figured it out that I wasn't playing against anther summoner.

I used Sunspot and Shuri against a Onslaught in War once.

It did not go well. Woops.

    1) Going into The Collector with 2.5k units for revives on my 3/4 stars, it still wasn't enough.
    2) Struggling to get past the Sabretooth boss in his event quest when he was introduced to the game.
    3) Using Nebula against Killmonger and granting him a full 3 bars of power in one second after parrying him and giving him 10+ shock debuffs. Always sticks with me.

Hilariously, the next person to comment under you has a DD profile pic 😂 he's haunting you!

When war first came out, Ultron was king of war bosses. You couldn't stun him to stop his regen. Willpower was much stronger and duplicate debuffs counted towards willpower regen. Strategy was to get him below his regen threshold and immediately quit so he wouldn't regen.

We had to use that strategy when he was Raid boss, nobody could get the timing right and he just healed for a couple million per tick 😂

I started the game Week 1…before Masteries. So I learned how to play the game just blocking attacks/taking chip damage and hopefully outlasting the opponent, which meant every single time 2-star/3-star Colossus or Iron Man gained an Armor Up in Story Mode or Arena, I wanted to scream.

Not ashamed to admit I had to watch Dork Lessons’ tutorials on Dexing and Intercepting multiple times to unlearn those habits, and while I have always been amazed at what the Content Creators have done to increase knowledge about this game and kits and how to fight bosses, there is nothing I can imagine that was more crucial that those Dork Lessons tutorials.

I couldn’t agree with you more, I’m also a fellow week one player- and I remember that also. I’m so glad they added the masteries, and I no longer had to just keep hitting a brick wall when a champion had an armor up.

Spent around 22 revives trying to complete Act 6 Cap IW with Crit me with your best shot about 3 years back with 5* R2 Killmonger. Ended up quitting out of the quest due to frustration.
