I think they added some particles to his sp2 to give a more cold effect to it.

Whose wrist (or whole model, actually) was he based on.
That has a wrist guard on, so you never saw an issue until they removed the guard for Hyperion.
Been so long now, I forgot. (Hercules, probably not, think it was an older one. Thor ?)

And, if you go look at that other champ now, is there any visible change to him as well ???

It was thor, which is holding an hammer on what it was a deformed hand
