I actually got banned for no apparent reason fr I downloaded through Google play store I don't have any background software that should get me flagged I just play the game and woke up next morning to a ban
Based on percentage of people cheating in marriage, I'm surprised so many people are acting so self-righteous here, like they never cheated/lied in the real world.
I'm very sure there are way more than 10K people cheating in this game, more or less, Kabam know they have to live with cheaters as long as those cheaters don't actually break the balance of the game, because Kabam want the game to live, all successful games have a lot of players breaking TOS.
Now the problem is, the big-beautiful anti-cheater system actually punished a lot of players that never cheated, at least they benefited nothing from breaking TOS and they might not even know they broke TOS.
Anyway, I'm not in the position of worrying about revenue of the game, I'm just being a a drama llama.

Now nothing can do. U can't play this game before ban period expired. I'm also inflicted 😂🤣.
Hi everyone. Obviously there is a lot of consternation and confusion right now over the recent bans. I just wanted to clarify a few things.
As the official post says, playing on a client distributed by anybody other than us or our official partners could get you flagged for a ban. Yes, this means if you sideloaded the game you were likely flagged. Our official partners are Apple, Google, Flexion and Steam. We distribute the game on PC through the downloader at https://playcontestofchampions.com/ Those are the only official channels to get the game, if you used any other means you were likely flagged.
We tested this algorithm against hundreds of known good accounts without any false positives. Having said that, in any action this big, there might be edge cases that couldn't be accounted for in advance. We are obviously taking these reports seriously and investigating these cases.
I changed my phone a few months ago and downloaded from the Google play store. Why am I banned? What do you mean by no false positives? Explain my case then? No additional information is there. I literally downloaded the game from Google play and I don't use VPN. Look through my account. I have never modded, never have anyone my account, nothing, nada. How am I banned?
I think there’s a high probability with people THINKING that they’re innocent when they aren’t, sometimes they can be blamed sometimes not I guess. But good to know you’re on it anyways 👍
Maybe the rules need to be clarified again? Maybe stupid question but it could prevent some of the genuine mistakes people made.
Tell me how am I banned when I installed the game from Google play. No VPN, no account sharing, nothing.

actual cheaters still playing 🤣😂, that's how kabam identify cheaters 😂
no one's being judgmental. it's actually a sad situation for a lot of players who aren't running cheats that give them an any competitive advantage but ARE using modified software that just let's them play the game just because they live in a country that makes it hard otherwise. so i get the anger...
false positives aside, the rules are clear: if you're using a modified version of the game or any other software that interacts with the game or say you have traces of bad software that is detectable on your phone or computer (emulation, whatever), then the system flags it.
it doesn't matter if you're not "cheating" and you've been using this for 10 years, it's always been against the TOS and now their new tech is catching it. what do you want them to do? let you use emulators, a modified mcoc app, or a modified OS on your device? why would they allow that?

They and their third party ****,no one is dumb enough to use the game by using any 3rd party app, unless the game is unavailable and it is the only way. I don't understand how exactly is using emulators or apk does any damage to the game. Yes if the apk is modded or they are using cheats on emulators then its a big deal and they need to banned asap, but people who live in country where the app doesn't exist ,what are they gonna do? The point is simple ,kabam is the shittiest company in mobile gaming history and they will do anything and everything instead of irradicating the real problem.

if they live in a place where the app doesn't exist and they have to modify things to get it to run they'll get banned. it sucks but it is what it is.
i don't know anything about anti-cheat systems but they're not all-knowing gods. all they can basically do is detect "known bad fingerprints", sketchy software that can interact with the game in ways that it shouldn't, and alteration of the official game. the latter is probably the most obvious no no. "modify our game in any way and you're banned" is common sense.
We tested this algorithm against hundreds of known good accounts without any false positives.
(emphasis by me) Oh my. I guess, I can't be too shocked, considering that I can't remember when a new release didn't contain new bugs. Of course then there's the on-going bugs that hasn't been fixed in months, if not years (e.g. champ filters, resource filters, having to restart the game after some number due to the unresponsiveness of the game). Suggestions for Kabam:
Hire an actuary to run the numbers before deployment.
You need more/new test engineers.
You need more/new integration engineers.
You need more/new quality assurance engineers.
You definitely need new project manager(s).
It's been how many years? 5? 10? The bug where the game starts to stutter after long play session still hasn't been resolved. Is there no application profiling tool for Android or iOS to debug the issue? Heck; if you REALLY can't duplicate the issue in house; there are methods and procedures to acquire phone(s) with the issue so that you can debug the issue.

What if i genuinly used only official installation sources? What's your take on that?

The "bug" where the stutters after a long playtime is called device issue. It's your phone stuttering due to thermals or limitations.
I've done super long sessions if the game and have not faced any issues in that front

Everyone's stance, from those that aren't banned to those that are banned, is that they are lying.
But unfortunately, when it comes to corporations, we're basically in a police state, where you're guilty until proven innocent. That's just how it works with corporation. eBay can ban you. PayPal can freeze your money. Roblox can ... well you get the idea.
I'm one of those that got the 7 day thing and have always used Google Play Store and nothing else except Moto Gametime. But there nothing that I can prove what I saying is true. Not to mention, Kabam won't show me proof so that I can refute their claim.
KABAM,I want to tell you that you must withstand the pressure. Don't be frightened by their remarks. You must turn a blind eye and turn a blind eye to this traditional virtue of making mistakes to the end. You must carry forward it. Otherwise, I really feel sorry for the great title of KABAM. Everyone is looking at you. Even if what they say is true, don't pay attention to them, because you are the boss. They can't do anything about you. You must give full play to your shameless potential. Believe me, you really have such potential.
9 out of 10 people who cheat will lie about it. If you been on the forums long enough you've seen it. They will come on here and swear on everything they didn't cheat only for kabam crashed to come with the data about some item less nerco run they did with herc. That being said I wonder how many people on here claiming innocent bought their account. We know it happens and even if you didn't cheat you have no idea what the previous owners did. I've played this game since 2015 I have played on multiple devices and travel for work. I have never received a warning but I have also never tried to cheat in any kind of way. So I'm pretty confident in kabam and their cheat detection system.

You said that out of ten people who claim to be innocent, nine are actually guilty. Forgive me for my curiosity, I am indeed a newcomer to the forum. I would like to ask, the forum often experiences large-scale account suspension incidents within one or two days, and many people also want to give feedback like this today. In the end, Kabm proved that these users were all wrong, so can you maintain confidence in Kabam like this?

I've been playing this game for over 7 years, never used any unofficial distibutions, only google play store + recently your pc launcher, yet I got banned. To write a ticket I had to check my payments and after realising how much money I have spent I came into conclusion that is enough. I WAS your legitimate client. I WAS spending money. I NEVER cheated. Yet you banned me for 7 days resulting in me missing on raid, aw, aq rewards. This influenced my ally because there was not a possibilty to clear the map. I got response to uninstall the game and reinstall from official distribution, well guess what, I HAD it from official distribution. I have lost all my trust in your company so I won't be returning to the game because I don't know when again You'll decide to wrongfully ban me. You lost a client, I know nobody cares about me(well apart from my allymates - I was still in the game for them, despite all the bugs, all unfair defenders, etc.)
Farewell fellow summoners...
Zwierzakol was not an impostor
This is how I feel, too, but I have probably spent less than you. I've never installed mcoc from anywhere but official device stores. 99% of my playing has been on android. 1% iOS. Latest mcoc update from Play store on an S23. To the people that think everyone suspended is a cheat or that Kabam should ignore us, I hope it happens to you next time.
Same here. Playing for many years. Never modded or cheated or shared an account. Made purchases regularly. Downloaded through play store. Now banned. I was already considering abandoning ship as the state of the game is abysmal. Now my decision was made easier. Goodbye mcoc; hello Rivals.
Here are some recurring issues I've seen mentioned which seem like very plausible "mistakes" the software could've made:
People getting banned for being out of compliance many years ago. The software doesn't seem to have limited itself to looking for recent infractions. If someone had the wrong software 9 years ago, but fixed it 8 years ago, they still seem to have been picked up as being a violator. I would think they should be let off the hook on a "statute of limitations" grounds in this case. This also raises the question of whether the software will continue to pick up people for violations who fix their client today, if it runs again in a month. What if they install the correct client an hour before the software runs again, but didn't get a chance to log in yet? Will logging in just one time under the correct client be enough to get a "pass" from the software every time going forward?
An offshoot to this is a "double jeopardy" situation. People said they did get banned for using the wrong software years ago, but fixed it then and have been playing correctly for years. The software not only flagged them again this week, but also gave them a second or third strike for the same thing they already had a first strike for. Some of them were pushed to a permanent ban because of this. If true, this is just not fair, and I'm sure was not what the software was intended to do.
Some people say they are running a very old OS, or maybe an unusual OS. It would be very hard for the makers of this software to know that it detects things correctly on EVERY old version of EVERY OS. We know that apps in the app store constantly say they will no longer work on older OSes as time goes on. It's very plausible to believe that this detection software might have problems getting correct results from older OSes.
A new piece of software was run against hundreds of thousands of accounts for the first time. No software developer would expect that to go off without a lot of errors or improper results occuring. This is why new software is often "rolled out" slowly in a company. First try it on 5% of the user base, then 10%, etc., and work out the bugs that arise along the way, before doing the big drop on the whole population.
At this point, I feel like a lot of manual investigation should occur. The users who were permanently banned should be looked at first, and reinstated if no cheating that would impact gameplay occured. The other ones may as well have their temporary bans lifted earlier, because the signal has already been sent, and they're going to be let back in anyway. But a clear message should be sent out in an in-game mail telling people that they have to install the app from these specific sources, so that everybody is clear on why they were banned.
It's amazing how many idiots think everyone is guilty, as if Kabam could write flawless code, but can't make the game flawless after 10 years. I hope it happens to them next scan.
Kabam should answer proper 10000 people why they receive a ban without any reason . I don't use mod or something else but still receive a ban
No, I objection their bans but not all banned users are innocent. Actual cheaters and modders included there.
But they should ban 1 by 1 at the time they are using mod.. don't ban 10000 people.. it's useless system
Some legit players suffering now. Kabam don't listen anyone. If they did than it's final. No proof allow 🤣😂. For me it's 7 days. Ok fine. I don't know if they compensate me or not. When 7 days expires I screen record again full process installation from Google play because I don't trust kabam anymore. They do again this ****.
If they don't fix it by end of Monday with compensation then I'm done.
Why would my main account get banned and not my alt account they are both played from the same phone that I used Google play to download?
My main was banned first then my alt the next day. I use a separate apple ipad for each account and only ever downloaded from the App Store. I’m not smart enough to mod or side load whatever that is.
I actually got banned for no apparent reason fr I downloaded through Google play store I don't have any background software that should get me flagged I just play the game and woke up next morning to a ban
Same! I wonder what will the excuse be how all this happened
And I wanna really know How an Android user, always been on Android, downloading all my apps and updating them via the play store ( where the verified logo is ), playing the game for 9 years and Now I get clocked as a cheater and Now the play store is suss? Child please
