Hyperion isn't better than Voodoo ... on offense. He is way better on defense.
How high the cutoff is depends on a lot of factors, and how desirable a champion is would be just one of them. How many people push hard for a champion is another critical one. If 8000 people decide to score 10 million for a champ, the cut off can still be 5 million, because what matters is not what those highest 8000 do, but what the next three thousand do. If you run out of high rollers, you can get much lower cutoffs. Conversely, if the next three million are also high grinders also shooting for the same champion, cutoff scores can be much higher.
Hyperion is a hard one to guess accurately because he's unique: so far, he is the first non-repeat basic champion that is both very strong on offense and very strong on defense, potentially increasing the pool of people who will drive hard for him. I *think* he will probably go for between 6 and 6.5 million, but there's more uncertainty with Hyperion than with the past few.
Round two is where the real guessing happens. The pattern has been non-repeat high value basics scoring above 5 million in round one have a big drop off in round two. But with Hyperion being useful on both offense and defense, maybe that drop off doesn't happen, or maybe it is a lower drop off, or maybe it follows the pattern because being good on offense and defense isn't enough to expand the pool enough to matter. I *think* he will still drop off, but that's an even wilder guess than round one. I will be interested to see the round one scoring distribution to get a better idea.
Well, you would think so, but the number of Refills and Boosts are not enough to catapult the Results that high. Many will use them to have a good head start. Also, the cutoff is determined by a percentage based on the number of people who qualify, and every score between the highest and lowest qualifying. I don't predict it having much of an effect outside of a couple hundred thousand, max. All it will do is allow people to reach goal faster.
Don't underestimate. People in my alliance expected voodoo to be around 5m, but he ended up being 5.9m. Same thing here, you'd think he would be 6 or 6.5m, but heck you never know, and it could be up to 7.5m

Voodoo was also affected by the blackout. I predicted 5.2-5.4, but I changed it to predict higher afterwards. 7.5 may be a bit high. Would be a safe number to aim for, though. Of course, one never knows for sure.
The day Basics start goin for 7.5 mil is the day I take a break from the game. That's a bit too much grinding for me.
I'm thinking Hyperion will go for less than 6 mil....hopefully.

Lol don't worry, it's an exaggerated answer, but you get the point. :P
I got Voodoo the first round. Did milestones the second to help everyone else. The more people do milestones or
just into Rank Rewards, the lower the cut off gets since it's percentage of the players that compete in the arena...
A lot of guys are talking highly about Hyperion regarding Act 5, chapter 2. Maybe that will have some impact. Also there are almost no cosmics worth ranking up to r5, so I guess a lot of guys have some spare cosmic T4c. Me and my alliance teammate have 6 lol

Doubtful. Weekly Hero Announcement says The Punisher, and no other Announcement exists.
Punisher will still be featured. He just won't return down the road as a basic arena champ.
Can you stop? Just stop.
6/19 Feature Punisher w Hyperion Basic R2
6/22 Feature Punisher 2099 w CW or WS Basic R1
6/26 Feature Punisher 2099 w CW or WS Basic R2
6/29 Feature CW or WS w Howard Duck Basic R1
7/3 Feature CW or WS w Howard Duck Basic R2
My guess for the final 2 arenas of June for Round 1 so you decide who you think will be with Punisher 2099??
For Feature Arena with Howard or Basic with Punisher 2099 lol
