We always said that Diversity was meant as a tie breaker, and that it should always be a trade off between getting the diversity points, or trying to limit your Opponent's progression with a better suited Defender for that Node. Attacker Bonus points were put in place as a measure of Skill, after Defender Kill points were removed. They were definitely meant to be valuable points, but not the determining factor.
