    At least, that's what Kabam are saying as to justify why they won't release him as a 5*.

    Wolverine just lacks the flexibility that is required in current meta, so I wouldn't even rank him up.

    He syncs with CapIW and Sabertooth -- both champs i have, therefore i would love a 5*Wolverine

    Voted top 20 because that's the lowest option available. Too many new champs are far superior as 4*. So same would be true as 5*. Low damage, regen easily countered..... he was awesome in 2015.... it's no longer 2015.

    He wouldn't be top 20. He'd be a top option for a handful of situations like thorns, degen/debuff nodes, and maybe a few AQ paths. He'd be close to useless in high tier war.

    Kabam has never explicitly stated why Wolverine wasn't added as a 5* champ. You're remembering other people guessing what Kabam's reason might be.

    Regen champs are tricky to judge, because of the mechanics of regen. Regen champs like Wolverine can trivialize content below a certain level, but they can also fall apart when facing content above a certain level, in a way that other champs don't or at least not to the same degree. So how valuable a high regen champ is depends in large part on how much damage you expect to take in the content you expect to use them in. The game is different now than it was when 5* champs were first introduced, in terms of how much damage we can face in the highest tier difficulty content. That changes the equation on how strong, or potentially game breaking, Wolverine might be as a 5* champs.

    Keeping mind mind newer players could pull him and use him in lower content (just like with other champs, but as mentioned high regen is different).

    With all the new OP champs that came in, he is easily outclassed. Nice for AQ, but all the other utility that other champs bring, you'd need to have a bit more than just a bit of regen.

    I don't think he'd be in the top 20 just because there are so many great champions in the game so far. He'd definitely still be a great 5 star though

    I’d take him to rank 4... with a 2015 mutant gem... otherwise I’d just leave him at rank 3
