@DrZola laying down the truth! I’m gonna say it’s outdated for a lot of the end game users. It’s “free” so I can’t conplain, well everything I do on this game is my choice so I shouldn’t complain about any of it. But asking or making the suggestion for a tiered calendar above the weekly one is not wrong. It’s all in the presentation peeps!

Why can’t you complain? Do you enjoy getting the same appreciation rewards for 4 years? I don’t. I haven’t even been playing for that long either.
I go to the same store every week they dont offer me **** I have a choice I can go elsewhere. Sorry but your choice to play shouldnt be rewarded. That's ENTITLEMENT.

But your free stuff isnt good enough for you..

Seriously kabam end the calendars.
I already said I know I’m *Not* entitled to calendar rewards. Is that clear enough? Should I say it again? I’m not entitled to free rewards. One more time? I know they’re appreciation rewards. But those same appreciation rewards are given in hope to *encourage* people to continue to play, right?

What happens when people lose that encouragement? They lose interest! Uh oh.

If you’re a successful business who has goals of staying in business, you should increase rewards when you make things more costly in the game; gold, resources, rank up materials.

It’s to carry the encouragement over to the transfer of difficulty because a lot of people aren’t getting encouraged through calendar’s anymore as things become more costly.

So, please, drop the entitlement argument. It’s weak.
Ok they should increase the *rewards* when they make things more costly or harder.

Cool come back when they increase the cost or make it harder and ask for an increase

They just lowered aq map costs
Aw costs are the same
Arena no cost
Events no cost
Ranking champions same cost as before.

So then again when those costs go up tour complaint might become valid.
Our complaints do carry weight. Do you want the same outdated calendar for when Act 6 is coming around? We get about, what, 50k in Gold every month, maybe? It’s outdated.

1 t4b and 1 t4cc... It’s outdated..
I dont think we should have free stuff so it's not outdated.
It’s not free. The appreciation package is definitely outdated for what the game has scaled to. Your estimates are off..

Logging in and logging off isnt free? Fine it's worth 1 minute of your day
So what's the value of 1 minute? Pretty low. Seems fine to me
It takes a minute to log in. But it isn't "worth" a minute. You don't get to tell Kabam what your time is worth and demand compensation for your time any more than I can go to McDonalds and demand compensation for the time I spent driving there. You can try to argue that if I didn't spend that time then McDonalds can't make money so they should compensate me for that time, but the world doesn't work that way. If a client told me that, they would cease to be my client very fast.

What you get for the time you put into the game is a game. If the game is not worth your time, you shouldn't be playing the game.

Arguments like your’s are some of the main reasons why we don’t see improvements. It sounds like you’re contempt with the basic calendar appreciation package apparently.. Are you a free to play too? It sounds like it..

Unless it has changed, log-ins and sessions are part of the metrics used to evaluate apps (factored into “active users” among other things). So log-ins actually have some value for Kabam, meaning there’s quid pro quo.

And then there’s always the value of that finite resource known as “your time,” which many forums users apparently value at zero.

Dr. Zola

You can value your time in any way you want, but you don't get to tell anyone you spend it on that they owe you for it. Kabam, nor any other game operator, owes you something for the time you spend on their game, any more than you owe me anything for the time I spent reading your post.

Also, "logins" don't have value to Kabam in the sense you mean. Kabam doesn't report them, so they can't directly monetize them. It doesn't magically make the game more valuable. Kabam uses logins as an internal metric to measure the health of their game, but that has to do with what game operators call "engagement" not value. It is a tool used to retain players.

Most critically: the calendar isn't a reward for your time, or payment for your time. It is a game balance tool used to reduce the slope of the player population progression curve. It is wrapped up in loyalty reward wrapping paper, but that's just decoration, that's not its actual game design function. This relates to the fundamental difference between an incentive and a reward. Those two things might look similar, but they are completely different things.
I’m not sure I could disagree with you more.

Do you mean to suggest that app makers don’t value the time a user spends on their app? Perhaps you’ve spent enough time on the programming side that you take share of user time and attention for granted?

There’s a very good reason log in rewards exist, and it isn’t benevolence or a desire to boost lower gamers or help the progression curve, and I am perplexed that you would posit such a naive argument.

Also: the key difference between reading my post and logging in is I’m not looking to make money off your reading my post. More: I wasn’t suggesting there’s some reporting requirement for engagement, but if you think that data isn’t highly relevant internally, then there’s no point going further. And “retention”? That’s gamespeak for keeping people around and profitable.

It’s not help as much as it is shock that veteran players continue to view it this way.

The game exists to be profitable. Period. It’s not a benevolent society.

Every second I spend on the game is a second I may take an action that adds to that profitability. It’s also a second I don’t spend elsewhere.

Why would anyone think developers would make design decisions like the red numbers and the red stash/timer? Because someone liked red? Red denotes something that requires attention, and once I’ve logged in I am more inclined to check on the red alerts to see if I need to take action...action which could lead me to do something that may add to profitability.

Viewed in the same naive light, game lag is just an altruistic addition to the game meant to hone your skills, and unavoidable damage enables Summoners to appreciate more fully the benefits of potions.

Trust me I have an alt that logs in everyday im not sure it's done a fight this year.
Sorry but businesses dont owe you everytime you use an app.

I've been using google for 10 years. Guess how much free stuff I've gotten? Yup none kabam is way ahead
You really are either missing the concept or you’re a consistent troll; which is it?

I’ve noticed how you don’t use my words when I speak of appreciation package like the casinos do to heavier spenders. Why do you not respond to that but talk about entitlement again when I’ve already said I’m not entitled jus like they’re not entitled to our services.

Are you so stuck on proving entitlement that you’re actually missing the message? No one here is speaking of entitlement.

That’s why I’ve constantly labeled it an “appreciation package”. Your response to entitlement is becoming spam because it’s not even relevant to the flow of conversation. It’s consistent with what you see but like I said, it’s not consistent with the actual facts of conversation and arguments.

Are you a free to play Droopy?

Kabam doesn’t have a problem about having their users spend money so why not give an incentive to create more spenders by a better appreciation package? What’s so wrong with this? It doesn’t even have to be super amazing rewards like 8 t2as a month.. Jus make it more relevant with rank up costs and resources of end game rank ups and leveling up..

The gold they give in the basic appreciation package is unsatisfying to their goal of encouraging and appreciating their spenders.

Why are they missing this? Do they not see the value of it when Casinos do it to their spenders? Appreciate the money!

What are they doing to appreciate the money?

Appreciation is not found in what they buy, that’s not appreciation; that’s an offer.

Appreciation is when they do something *extra* to show appreciation of the money being spent on their offers; like casinos do with machines and gambling, they get into contact and give them a choice of a package to show their appreciation of the money being spent.

Offers are not appreciation. That’s an offer to get more revenue. If I gave you an opportunity to buy some shoes and you buy those shoes, am I automatically showing you appreciation by you buying the shoes? No. It’s jus an offer. If I wanted them to keep coming back and be a consistent spender I should give them an appreciation package to *encourage* them to come back and spend more.

It’s the second play off the deal. You shouldn’t jus leave the deal transaction when it’s made but create a constant flow of funds for future transactions to be made!

Appreciate the money! You’d get more!

Kabam is leaving the second play and they are coming short with their potential of funds.

Pretty low. Seems fine to me
It’s not 1 minute, it’s constant activity on their app. You may not think it’s difficult to get that minute but if you’re trying to get your business off the ground or to keep from tanking, those minutes add up among players. It’s not just me, so don’t act like it’s jus one minute
The reward is for logging in that takes 1 minute tops. You dont need to play to get it.
Trust me I have an alt that logs in everyday im not sure it's done a fight this year.

I appreciate the help, Zola!

I have an idea: create an extra appreciation package for people that spend money. Let the free to play be happy with their basic package.

They don’t like it? Buy something of a certain price.

People who spend should not be receiving the same appreciation package as a free to play. Update it and appreciate the money!

Casinos don’t give hotels, buffets, clothes, shows, to jus everyone; they scale their appreciation, accordingly.

Kabam should do the same

You get what you buy.
You want more? Lol
Theres that entitlement again.

It’s not entitlement to ask for more. Where do you get your definitions; urban dictionary?

It's not an appreciation package you renaming it to suit your agenda doesnt change what it is or how its acheived.

Casinos give you buffet and all that stuff to keep you there longer. Not really to come back the next day.

So more logical then fixing the calendar tou should be pitching for better 4 hr Crystal's that scale based on how long your online..

I just legit see no reason to give items away at all if the player is not going to appreciate it and whine about what it is.

I am currently f2p but spent my fair share in the past but frankly got tired of it and stopped spending
It is an appreciation package. If you don’t see the value of an appreciation package you are missing the point of my whole argument, which would make sense with why you would reinterate your entitlement argument.

“Not really to have them come back”!? Lol What? Lol

What business do you run where you don’t want the funds to come back? Lol you’re tripping lol that’s the main reason!

I am surprised about the lack of understanding to the concept in the grind of a business.

You saying “not really to have them come back”, says enough for me. You don’t understand that business concept then, or you’re trolling...

And I stand that you dont deserve it and I dont want it.
Oh yeah? You don’t think they feed them so that they gamble more tomorrow and have another meal?

If they enjoy gambling and being at the casino, it’s going to encourage them to come back because they fed them afterwards. It’s the appreciation package!

It’s not jus about the current, it’s about making that person happy and leaving with a better experience after a bad or good day. Taking the better experience into their own hands whether or not they had a bad or good day. They at least fed the man and appreciated him!

Telling us they appreciate us is not enough.

The same package Kabam is missing out on and similar funds as well.

I'm going to leave now to go earn things I want instead of asking for them to be handed to me for logging in
I never said I deserved them. I never said I earned them. I do spend though and it’d be nice if they appreciated the money by extending a special appreciation calendar for x amount

No, it’s not free stuff. We log in every day which makes them revenue. It’s not free. Time isn’t free.

Give us better rewards for being consistent and be thankful in more ways than jus one. Appreciate us!

A. If you're logging on for the Calendar, you're playing the game wrong.
B. We are not owed free merch for playing. That defeats the whole point of A.
C. Logging in is not a job, and is not entitlement to pay, nor does it acutally generate any revenue directly. It shows active Users which may appease financial contributors, partners, and sponsors, but I would bet Dollars to Seashells that's not the reason people are logging on.
D. What you're talking about is not appreciation. It's a stiple, and that's not what the Login Calendar is. It's a Bonus. You literally get Items which ALL have a value within the game, for the effort of opening the App, which you would be doing regardless to play it. So, yes. It is not something for nothing. It's alot of something for pressing a button once a day.

If you’re not logging in every day anyway, it’s highly unlikely that you’d give a damn what’s in the calendar.

The question by OP was simple,

“What would like to see added to the calendar?”

I would like to see 500 6* shards monthly

Those types of rewards should be in the appreciation package of spenders of x amount; causing the free to play to have an incentive to spend on more than jus their offers; resulting in the second play on the money of a deal.

We shouldn’t jus have one deal as a business, we should create the second play to have a foot invested in the growth of the funds.

Okay. I've tried the ginger approach. Since you're a hard sell, I'll offer the more direct response.
They don't owe us #### just for turning the game on. You earn Rewards, not demand them. Much less develop a sense of entitlement that has an inflation value.
Was that more on topic for you?

Really, it would be nice if instead of starting rewards over every month you could build up past that to reward truly consistent and loyal summoners.

For example, if you have logged in for one month, the following month you get 100 4* shards daily on top of the normal rewards. Log in two months in a row and receive 200 5* shards daily on top of normal rewards. Log in 3 months in a row without missing a day and receive 200 6* shards daily on top of normal rewards. This would reward true loyalty, and be a great way of retaining players as the penalty for not logging in would be substantial over time.

It doesn’t have to be the crystal shards, or those amounts, but any kind of ramp up rewards would make me truly feel appreciated. And let’s be honest, 1 6* every 50 days is not that game breaking a reward for the consistency it demands, and when there is a clear bottleneck of t5bc to rank them up.

So in your mind, you're calling it an Appreciation Package. Not at all what it is. Let's go with that logic. Appreciation is a way of saying "Thank you!". I believe giving anything for free accomplishes that. If you want to be paid to play the game, I suggest you explore a job in that field.
My points were well, on point. Unfortunately, your level of expectation is not congruent with the gravity of the situation. I'm sorry for that.
