It seems that Kabam has created a list of hurdles to ensure that players suffer to the fullest. One of these is the fact that we cannot do [removed by Moderator] without telling Kabam support the date of our account creation. If this was so important, shouldn't it have been a part of our in-game profile? Or shouldn't there have been a way to recover it? I don't have emails from 5 years ago when I created the account. I didn't log in using Google Play untill July 2020. How the [removed by Moderator] am I supposed to retrieve my information? A gaming platform with millions of users has no system to address this. This just means that I can never approach Kabam for help.

An easier way is look at the achievements of the game and see the earliest you got. Breathe a little and then reach out to support.

@GinjabredMonsta Where do i see my achievements? If you mean Google Play then i started using that in 2020. I created my account in 2017.

It should be in game when you click on settings under the login options. However if it didn't register achievements till you set up the Google play in 2017 then yeah that's an issue then. I do agree that their list of demands, while understandable, are not easily obtainable and should ne a shorter list or should allow you to choose three

@Zan0 Thanks for the suggestion. I bought my first android phone in May 2017 and have a screenshot of my profile from September 2017. So i know i have opened an account in June, July or August of 2017. Replied to Kabam but they don't even acknowledge that I am trying to be as precise as possible. Basically I can do nothing.

In a similar boat here. They’re asking a whole lot that many of us care less about when you download a new game. Your very first name, exact date the account was created, when you first spent, how much was it and so forth. It’s unreasonable imo. When you download a game for the first time, you can possible know the extent you’d be hooked on it and how much money you’d spend until after sometime, time enough for you to remember of loose some of these information the want. They need make this thing flexible and reasonable. Ever since I felt I’ve invested enough on this game I’ve been saving all my spending info and hiding it at the same time :* you know why no need for me to mention it lol

If you’re on IOS it would be under your profile in the App Store. Not sure how google does it

For andriod, Games cannot get access to google play profile until we allow it externally when game ask for.

Luckily i take screenshots now and then...i had dig up old emails look up old transactions of units amd i had rockets scrapyard item still in my inventory...so all that helped me. Finally they accepted my answers. Felt like piecing together a very old mystery when i think abt it now. But was sure as hell frustrating when i was trying to get some support from them. OMG!!!

I think i got rockets scrapyard item from a login calendar and as i was new to the game I never knew what to do with that. Well it helped years later...

I wish there was a better way to manage this, and it is something I've thought about a lot over the years and discussed with Kabam, but the bottom line is that if Kabam needs to verify your account ownership, it cannot use questions you can easily look up in-game, because if the questions can be answered by anyone who has the ability to log into your game account that would mean anyone who gets access to your game once can permanently hijack it away from you and there's nothing you would be able to do about it.

As someone who has played from almost the beginning, I too have gone through the ringer with support. I can get first purchases, email account the same since inception. The problem has been creation date since they changed the support a whole back. I didn't login with Google Play originally. I played with a kabam login for 6+ months. It was seven years ago, they seem like they want the exact day. I can at best give the season. Smh

@DNA3000 I'm not saying making every detail public, but at least come up with a solution that makes sense. We all use internet and mobile banking where information is sensitive. Yet, every bank has a verification system that is user-friendly and still secure. It isn't too much to expect from a gaming company.

You say that like someone that has never attempted to gain access to a financial account when you don't have the normal identifying information. I have had to do that. The user-friendly verification system only works when you still possess control of critical identifying information. You might have registered your mobile phone number with the institution, or you have given them sensitive personal identifying information they can use to verify your identity, such as SSN in the US or federal taxpayer id. Kabam has none of that information and in general isn't allowed to collect it either.

The analogous problem to Kabam trying to prevent account hijacking with verification questions is what people have to do when they are the victims of identity theft and have to reestablish control of all of their financial accounts, online and offline. No one who has ever been through it would call this process "user-friendly."

I agree with DNA on this. The system sucks because of the importance of cyber security, but even though it royally sucks, it is important our information stays safe. On another note, I'm pretty sure the Google play store has a way of telling you when you originally got an app. I don't remember how to see that anymore, but I remember seeing it once.

No need to make that details public or make it visible in-game, There must be some way to obtain that information like you can request that details on linked email. If kabam have my account creation date than why would i remember by heart, it does not make sense anyways (We don't live in 80's where we have to remember every small details by heart  ). If somebody's Email is hijacked then it's not kabam's fault anyways so it's safe to send crucial information via email when required (90% of the world sends information on emails now a days).

There is also last purchase or first purchase date as well. If i never purchased anything from games there is no way i can recover or modify any details of my account despite using my linked/Authorized Email. Kabam feels hostile against people who tries to change anything about their account. If somebody requesting some change from their linked email address then it's already verified account, what else needed to verify the account? not even in-game name is required if somebody uses linked Email. :expressionless:

Well, I am pretty sure Kabam does this to prevent people from selling accounts. Kabem dont want people to change the attached email adress to that of the buyer and there by giving the buyer security and 100 pct. control over the account.

A while ago you had to name your lasts two purchages (real money), so when selling an account, people just bought two Peter Parker's Wallets, and named these. Now you have to name the two FIRST EVER bought items, which most people cannot remember (or figure out), which is a big obstacle that prevent for account selling...

I agree with this but what if somebody is genuine and want to change account information, Kabam have overall bad design when it comes to support. 0% User-Friendly system.

Once we create our account in kabam with given credentials, stuck forever

Look at the above comment i made ton of white space
To Forum developer : Use trim or clear empty html tags from string before storing to avoid extra white space at the end.

What makes you believe that the software developer of the forum software is specifically reading this game’s forums?

Between your “bad design” comments and your random string formatting advice, I’m starting to get some very strong high school to year two collegiate CompSci vibes.

Also, in the general case parsing for html oddities like the one you decided to abuse is non-trivial. Aggressively deleting them would also not give posters the ability to easily correct typos. Instead, most forums have the ability to bar specific users from using markup when they cannot be trusted to use them properly.

Maybe but if forum mods sees then they can report the development team. I don't see any option to give feedback on this anywhere, If you know please let me know.

It is not non-trivial. For your kind information sir, I never said force deletion of tags, I said from very end and empty. What you calling non-trivial can cost a company where thousands of people commenting every minute, Every character consumes space in DB which costs extra space for no reason. Larger the DB grows, More resource required to Optimize, To increase performance, To perform I/O operations etc. Most forums put control over tags because of abuse of it as you said it is necessary. What i mentioned about extra space that unfortunately goes wrong way when it comes to long run. Assume Average 50-100 people in Hour make this kind of comment with lot of extra space(Intentionally or Unintentionally) then calculate the cost and how it affect the company economically.

I understand it can be frustrating to be asked for information which you're not entirely sure how to obtain. However, the ways in which our Support Team verifies account ownership are always being reviewed and updated to help make it as effortless as possible for players to confirm their ownership of an account while maintaining a suitable level of protection to prevent someone from making changes to an account which they didn't create.

As has already been mentioned in this thread, you can usually get an idea of your account creation date by checking your Game Centre or Google Play Achievements and finding the date of the oldest achievement for MCoC. Alternatively, you could try searching your email history to find the earliest message that you received from Kabam. If that doesn't help, I recommend reaching back out to our Support Team for further assistance.

Unfortunately, we don't have direct access to in-game accounts here in the Forums. We're unable to review or assist with Support tickets and are limited in the scope of help we're able to provide for the account verification process.

If you would like to share feedback about the account verification process or have any improvement suggestions, I recommend sharing them directly with our Support Team by clicking HERE.
