Evading After Block Since 17.2 [Under Investigation]

Play Style: Left thumb blocks only, right thumb swipes and attacks
Several multi-attack specials can be blocked initially and then allow you to evade the rest, examples:
There are many, many other examples, but the concept is always the same. Hold block with the left thumb, take the first hit or two, then swipe back to evade while still holding block.
This no longer works. You just keep blocking, you can't evade back and you take the full set of blocked hits until the special is over. This also removes the possibility of intercepting after a special you evaded mid-way through.
This is a serious bug which once again shifts the advantage to the AI and compromises the player. Please confirm that this is not by design and will be fixed ASAP.

It appears that the recovery time after blocking has been increased.
For example, if I block Crossbones's SP2, I can evade back after the second gunshot and evade the third, but I can't evade back after hits closer together which could previously be evaded in 17.1. Someone else has reported that Cable's SP1 can no longer be evaded mid-stream.
Though I've heard Howard the Duck might have this same issue.
You're right, I've removed WS from the list for the sake of accuracy, I can indeed evade mid-stream in ROL. I observed Agent Venom and Hulkbuster in arena, I noticed the issue with Venom in AQ and then came in here to make the post.
Block a combo and then the ai charges a heavy and i try and dex while still holding block and do not move..... this happened to me 3 time and ended up eating a heavy even though i swiped dex like 3 times.....

Thank God it was not only me.
You're right, that's exactly what it is.
They slightly increased block-lock, in that you cannot evade until x frames after your block has been struck.
If they're gonna change it, fine, whatever, but not telling us is an absolute foul on the developer's part.
Unless, of course...this is a bug?

I hope that's not what they've done.
But just so that there's no "wriggle room" to suggest that no changes have been made, and that all changes are listed in the patch notes, please see below a video demonstrating how Agent Venom's SP1 could be partially evaded prior to 17.2:

This is no longer possible, and the block recovery time increase is being felt in multiple areas of the game. Something significant has changed in Kabam's favour, without any announcement, and we've all noticed it - including seasoned legends like @mvinceable who has a tremendous amount of credibility.

Happened against a Magik in AQ (obviously not parry, but still my attack got blocked) and against a Scarlet Witch in AW (got parry-stunned and comboed “into oblivion”)

Yes! Noticed this in the last several weeks to a month. We used to be able to evade and take 2 or 3 blocked hits but not anymore. Seems that when we try to move back like we used to just get hit. Something's been done to recovery timings again.
Thanks for the information and thread on this. We're sharing this with the rest of the team and getting it looked into.
Even if the opponent ends a combo with a MEDIUM against your block, they can still recover (dexterity) or parry you.
Sir, it's obvious that recovery timings have been altered for us while being buffed for the AI. Why are you acting as though this is new information that should be sent to the team? There was a giant 25+ page thread about this very thing (recovery issues and timings) that was locked with a similar message, that the team is looking into it and that it might take a very long time to get back.
It's really obvious that there has been a slow but steady manipulation of recovery timings related to all combat mechanics starting in late summer last year at the earliest. Why can't we just be told that the game is getting harder? We're not naive, and our skill aren't suddenly suffering. Just make up something about the Grandmaster wanting a harder contest and continue on with your long term recovery nerf mission. But please don't treat us like we're stupid.
I'm gonna stop you right there. Nothing has been changed with Block Timing at all. We've already confirmed this with the team. Jumping to conspiracy theories like this is not okay, and is not constructive. We don't make changes without letting you guys know, as long as we are aware.
Ok..so here's the thing. I have played hundreds of thousands of matches over a long period of time. Doing arena day in and day out over this period, I can pick up the tiniest of changes. I can tell if something is behaving different. I can tell whether there is a change to the way I can do things and the way the AI can do things.
And so can everyone else.
There's been hundreds and thousands of posts on this board and on reddit since last year (since 12.0 really but espeically since the summer) speaking about the same issues.
We can tell when something changes.
Maybe I'm asking the wrong question, maybe it's not "recovery timings", maybe it's something else, BUT SOMETHING HAS CHANGED with this game to our detriment, slowly and incrementally, over a period of many months.
Maybe it's the AI, maybe it's recovery, maybe it's "control registration", or whatever system or combination of systems that "regulate" gameplay...you can call it what you like, but we can tell the difference, and honestly, it's just not fun anymore. And we'd like answers. I don't blame Kabam for making the game harder, but with so many game issues and glitches and bugs already around, and with so many things not working as they once used to, we feel as though we're being taken advantage of.
