I just want to share my thoughts on recent game direction
Hello all,
I have been playing the game for almost a decade (!!!!) now, I have been and seen almost all in the game.. since scarlet wich 12.0 Blade dominance, Blade trio and more and more developments.
I understand the game is there the make a profit and this is how it is supposed to be.. The game developpers have added recently this new top content that I really enjoyed inspite of the community's opinion and there are some moves that the Kabam did that were just too much for me to continue playing.
This new pay to win sysyem where the newst and strongest character is locked behind payment method was the final straw for me.. I understand the idea and I support new charachters behind big and juicy challanges (Stark Spidey for examlpe where you really struggle before having him) but it feels to me that the gap that Kabam has created is just too much.. way too much, its not possible that after a sale a player that has been playing for a year or two has such an advantege over someone who playes for almost a decade.. its just not ok in my maybe unpopular opinion..
The offers in the past used to be 15000 units for the final millestone and now its not even a half !! I cant keep up with that!
Red Gaurdien, Dark Pheonix, Human Torch and more and more!! the frustration just keeps pilling up.
you could say that not everyone is supposed to compete at the highest level and that is correct, I think Kabam took it too far and its like I feel completely not fun and yes, Ill even use the word betrayal of the free to play that grind (oh how much i used to grind) but the offers become 39k where it used to be 15k and 15k is doable in two hard grinding months of the game. (that just indicates how much I tried keeping up and how much I used to play (used to as up until 3 days ago)
I hope you all do well but from a personal prespective, Kabam broke my will.
Good luck all.

Re: How much monetization is too much?
Another part of the problem is non-trophy champs shouldn't be considered "rare" champs. There should be a reasonable plan in place to allow non-spenders non-guaranteed access to a champ without having to celebrate multiple birthdays in between.I whale out, got Dark Phoenix/RG/HT and would go again if another comes up. I like having the rare champs, especially if they’re good enough for BGs so I can show them off. Happy spending a lot of money on that, personally.Part of the problem is that even if you enjoy whaling out they hit you with a counter for that rare champ right away. Forcing you to whale outa again.
I don’t really know why it’s so easy for me to have R4s cos of this though. Rank up materials seem to widen the gap the fastest so perhaps we got too many this year. I can see why F2P players would be disillusioned by this.
I used to spend heavy and then decrease as I didn't like the direction of the game. Decreased even more when 200-300 a month or 500-800 on special events got you just midway. By midway I mean a bunch of shots at the RNG gods and hope for the best, and almost no sure thing

Re: How much monetization is too much?
Shoot, they are actively selling these mothballs right now…That is like 75% of the problem, the other 25% is how they gave them as reward all this time while knowing they would discontinue it.Well I am officially done spending a single cent, call me crazy but I like to spend on things that I enjoy. So I am going to play this thing F2P until I get bored and find something else I can spend on.The relic thing… introducing relics that are likely to have higher prestige at R1… I mean that feel like micro targeting of top AQ spenders to the nth degree… and an easy way to bypass hoarders… I completely understand how you feel.
People might think its funny; but the relic BS was the last straw for me along with what was mentioned on another thread about the constant defenser/counter sales.
Add in the relic deals during heat wave… just relentless
Now they are nothing but a useless source of ember.

Re: How much monetization is too much?
Totally different thing. It became too much when they straight up sold a champ for the first time in the webstore. It's only increasingly excessive and tone-deaf at this point. They were selling 5 and 6* straight up in game long before that though. Granted not for 500 bucks though.
These are champs that will be rare for a long time like weapon x, torch, red guardian etc. They are being apart of the holiday sales now too, instead of just being like the early release Count Nefaria they did for 7*. All in all it's to make people spend more units and buy if they don't have enough

Re: How expensive do you think 7* Magik will be?
It doesn't sit well with anyone. What kabams been doing has been extremely negative from the player pov*looks at human torch*Certainly can’t argue with that. The “What it costs” by Kabam has grown so exponentially and at such a rapid rate, as of late, that I’m finding my interest diminishing at an almost equal rate.
If you expected differently at this point i really dont know what to tell you man. Prepare to be let down by whatever they announce and thay way it'll only feel slightly bad when it turns out worse than that
The first champ I ever earned in arenas was a 3* (yes, you read that right. 3*) Magik. So after all this waiting for a 6* or 7* version of her; the news of “the cost” did not set well with me.

What about “the maker” release
what do you guys think about “ the maker “ being released right when jean grey has been in the titanpul for less than 3 weeks and he seems to be fully countering her with neuro and reversed control immunity... honestly i think kabam is releasing counters for certain champs way too fast so what's the point of ranking her then. at least they can let us enjoy our new champs for a while and benefit from them.
Bcus lot of people gonna buy the early deals for him

Re: How expensive do you think 7* Magik will be?
One might have to sell his house in order to buy one Magik piece. 😅
Re: How expensive do you think 7* Magik will be?
The purpose of including Magik in the store is to create a chase for players earning huge amounts of Radiance. Until we get more data I can't say how much it will cost (we still haven't had a non-borked Battlegrounds season). I'm confidence though that it will be a lot more than 250k, given players in top alliances earn way more than that every month. Won't be all at once though, players will gather pieces over time. When you created Radiance and planned out how it would be acquired, wouldn’t you extrapolate how much could be earned at multiple progression levels over an amount of time to determine the best amounts to reward per event to keep it under control? Given that premise, shouldn’t you already know how much an appropriate amount would be for a “chase” champ like Magik?
