Energy Economy Suggestions
I think that the idea of fixing the energy economy is actually a good one. It has always felt unhealthy for energy refills to be expiring so frequently on my account and the need to use energy refills so much seems like a problem in resourcing in general. However, just reducing the amount of refills you can get while maintaining the cost of everything just feels inherently bad. Especially as they remove a form of currency that I’ve used to replace energy in battlegrounds.
Instead of just criticizing, I’d love to offer some possible solutions to make the energy ecosystem healthier in a way that would keep players around.
1) There is no real reason for the extremely high energy per tile cost in a lot of content right now. 5 energy per tile on monthly quests is just ridiculous as that means you’ll get to do about one fight an hour. The new daily quests taking two full rotations of energy also feels bad to the player as I can’t do any actual content now without feeling like I’m missing out. If Kabam lowered the cost of EQ to match the old lower difficulties (1, 2, 3 energy per chapter) and made dailies cheaper by one energy each, the lower refills could be a great fix.
2) If having inflated energy costs is needed for some reason, Kabam could also increase the energy cap to 100. 70 has always felt arbitrary and this would allow players to do more content at once without needing so many refills. It would also let players do some BGs and a quest per day, which is perfect for people with full time employment. Lastly, a higher energy cap would increase the value of 2 energy refills a week to about 3 refills a week while still encouraging spending on refills since 100 energy would leave an awkward amount left for a second quest.
3) Kabam could add energy boosts or refills to out of date content/weekly content to encourage players to play more of different modes. This could be every 5 zones of incursions, part of solo raids, arena milestones, or even the frequently underwhelming weekly events for monthlies like the current boss rush. It would be cool as a player to finish some harder content and be rewarded with energy, allowing you to effectively trade revives (40 units) into energy (30 units) which would still help Kabam make money.
I want to end off by saying I understand why everyone is so frustrated by all of this, especially ftp accounts. Changes like this can be scary and could hurt the game that’s already getting pretty glitchy these days. But I do think @KabamCrashed has been getting a little too much hate for somebody trying to communicate with the community about upcoming changes to try to help improve the game. I’d love to see more constructive criticism from creative players giving solutions that innovate on the mobile game genre to help us draw in and keep new players since this is a game many of us love.
Let me know your thoughts and please be kind to each other,
Toastmaster
Re: SP3 BLACK SCREEN... NO FEEDBACK!?
havent had this problem till now. it started with last update
Re: Is the game down?
Scheduled my irl, so I could finish Elders now before it resets tomorrow, but apparently Kabam doesnt want us to plan out our own time and decide when we want to play the game. They want to dictate it 🤷🏻♂️
Re: Act 9.3 in a nutshell
the funniest part is that I used less pots and revives to 100% 9.3 than I did the elder eq, what a clown show…
Re: Have the latest energy changes negatively affected your gameplay?
It has affected my 9.3 run. Usually I would've knocked it out in one day but now I'm only doing it bit by bit.
Otherwise nothing has changed because I still play arena. I guess no one in this thread plays arena though, ok.
BGs will be an issue I thought, but if it's 10 energy a match, I just remembered I only played an average of 2 matches a day last season and still ended in M2, so I think I'll be just fine.
But I can see it affecting the people who play hours of BG a day. Oh well, find another hobby I guess or prepare to pay units for your BG experience.
Re: Let’s talk crashed
At the end of the day, one thing I think everyone can agree on, regardless of how they're behaving, is that we're all here because we love this game and that we want it to succeed.
The definition of success shifts depending on where you are in the MCOC food chain. To the community, success is based on feel; to Kabam as a company, success is most likely based on metrics.
When something is announced like this, energy and elders' marks change, and the community goes, "This feels really bad, and we don't like this." Then you guys go, "Well, we can see the data, and this is for the best."
There's a real disconnect there, which creates a lot of tension between the two groups very frequently these days, and having the two main sides of the coin battling like that is not healthy for the game at all. I hope everyone can agree on that.
It's no denying that the amount of contact we have as a community with the game devs and teams is a privilege, especially compared to other games and companies; however, since we do have that privilege, it should be used to its best potential, and currently it really is not and to the community it constantly feels like everyone is butting heads with you guys, we say one thing and then you do the opposite, ex: the prestige and eq changes.
I think that in order for the game we all love to succeed, there should be some kind of middle ground between "we feel this way" and "well, I understand that, but this is how it is." I don't know what that would look like in the long or even short term, but having more points of transparency, feedback, and communication from both sides could help propel the game forward.
i'm rambling now so maybe someone can see what i'm trying to say and pick it up from there. We just all want the game to succeed, the community would love to work together with kabam in some capacity to help faciliate that but currently, no matter how much we hear from you guys, we feel ignored and unheard most of the time. That should change
Re: Arenas nerf incoming?
I think the core issue is tied directly to BGs. Too many players are pushing higher ranks and collecting Radiance without any cost, and that’s clearly not the outcome Kabam wants. By forcing BGs through energy, they want to create a restriction: either players grind less, or they spend units. In practice, that turns Radiance into a paywall.
The revive farming angle doesn’t hold up here -most endgame players already sit with revives in overflow. If that were the real concern, the solution would look very different.
This is about BG control. Kabam could’ve easily kept Elder Marks alongside energy refills, but they didn’t. That choice signals intent: they want the higher brackets occupied by players who are either spending or at least burning through units. With the Radiance store update coming, it feels less like game balance and more like a calculated move to regulate access to rewards.
Re: So can we get the T7 from the webstore or not ?
Correct, free points stopped at the original end date of the sale.
Re: ENERGY REFILLS & THE ENERGY
You have the courage to give a thumbs down. but not to comment. It's impressive how you can simply hide an opinion. or even formulate one. or worse, think everything's fine. There are thousands of threads complaining, and there was a response. and it was worse than expected. if players don't give their real opinions. I've seen several games die, and other game servers shut down. The last thing left is the sadness of not having listened to the players. without them, it's just a company. and a company without players doesn't work.
Re: Act 9.3 in a nutshell
The dupe bug with relics is just visual. I've been tracking it every time I open one.
