Re: New to the game - help
That’s really helpful - thanks. Would you recommend 100% act 4 before starting on act 5? The level 5s I have aren’t really high ranks. My main heroes atm are a maxed 4* awakened nick fury, then a rank 2 5* lady deathstrike and a rank 2 5* tigra, I also have a rank 4 4* awakened Galan, and they kinda drop off after them. Didn’t know if that’s strong enough for act 5 or notMy general advice on progressing through content is for most players playing at a normal pace, you should aim for completion first and move upward as high as you comfortably can. If you can do the next map and it seems not to bad, do it. When you run into something actually hard, such that you don’t think you can progress without spending, don’t spend. Instead go back and start exploring the stuff you completed while you wait for your roster to get stronger and your skills to get better.
Higher, then wider is the best play most of the time. Don’t ask the forums *if* you should do it, try it first. Ask the forums *how* you should do it when you get stuck. Sometimes the correct answer might be “you’re not ready” but none of us knows how well you play or what content you can beat.
The flip side is: know when to walk away. Unless your name is MSD, you’re eventually going to run into content you can’t beat. Don’t presume you’re supposed to spend a ton to beat it. You might just not have a strong enough roster relative to your skill level to beat that content. Getting better at the game or getting a stronger roster or both will eventually get you passed that content. Spending to get past content is counterproductive, because the next piece of content is bound to be harder. If you have to spend to get past something, you might have to spend even more for the next thing, and then the next thing. It’s not like the game gets easier.
Every rule has an exception, but you’re at the point in the game where you don’t need to worry about those exceptions. For example, if you are stuck trying to get past a progression-significant piece of content, like the Collector fight in Act 5.2, and doing it gets you to the next level of the game, then spending might make sense, because you’re going to spend on that, but then go back to playing normally after.
This is a very deep, very wide game at this point. There’s lots of stuff to do, lots of game modes to play in, and lots of ways to play the game. Find the pace you like, and never feel like you have to do more than what you want to do. The game has been going along for ten years now. It will be waiting for you when you get here.

Re: What lead to quitting after 9 years
So you're saying that someone got into Apple's database and stole your MCOC account info. Didn't touch anything else like take over any other accounts? All they were interested in was taking your sweet, sweet MCOC account? It all came from my apple ID, its all connected cos easier for me to remember.Man, forum people can’t wait for confirmation before letting your nasty personalities out. Nice. What confirmation is needed? Read both posts and it's fairly easy to see that OP has left a great deal of info out.
We’ll see what the game team says about this tomorrow. Good luck OP
Ask yourself, how would a "hacker" know what email address OP has for the forums? How would they get the password to even login to the forums?
I hate to break it to you but real life isn't like the movies. There's no sophisticated "hacking program " one can use to get your forum login or mcoc login.
That's the hill you want to die on?
Re: It’s like you want us to play less
That wasn't a boycott. That was just the sheer amount of feedback they received.I remember the day Seatin released that video and the whole community when crazy, some changes were made because of thatJust so you all know the best way to get results is by working together and that best way is kinda like a strike of sorts. Take off the game a week or two see how they respond when they are getting zero income from the player base. Just saying unity is a powerful thing. I usually get banned from forums for my posts bc they know how much damage it can do. They obviously don't care about what you guys or gals say and nothing gets done so see how my method works (trust me on this)!!Never in the history of MCOC has any sort of boycott worked.
Re: It’s like you want us to play less
There has been one boycott that was successful. The "shut down the game and fix-it" boycott. They did end up shutting down the game for 3 days. They never shut the game down for 3 days.
After that, they have made sure we can't organize such a thing ever again. By adding more moderators and killing any thread that suggested it immediately they have prevented such a thing.
By having the shills attack the summoner who posted and then removing the thread they have kept the community under control.
Re: Something seems off about valiant Sunday deal
Even the crystal in the paragon deal is better. They both have a chance for a 7* but 1.25% chance out of three pulls rather than 2% for one.
The ISO is garbage. So it really is just the units and the half a cat6. It really doesn’t make any sense.

Man, forum people can’t wait for confirmation before letting your nasty personalities out. Nice. There’s really nothing to say in this case. As the ticket states, two different parties were able to give complete account verification information. When that happens, policy states the account should be considered compromised, and thus closed.
We’ll see what the game team says about this tomorrow. Good luck OP
Complete account verification is, as many people who have lost control of their account will attest to, not something a “hacker” can glean from the game account itself, because not even the account owner can retrieve that information from the game account itself. This is by design.. The questions that must be answered are (last i checked):
Date of account creation
Geographic location of the device at account creation
Original account in-game name
Kabam ID (if created and associated) or email associated with game account
First two purchases from in-game store, if any
If two different people possess all of this information, then by policy it is impossible for customer service to validate who the original owner is. They aren’t allowed to make up their own criteria, which is why they can’t negotiate with the dueling players to see who has more information. Things like screenshots or videos can be faked, and they can also be acquired (since people often post that stuff). Customer support cannot decide, on their own, that yes, only the account owner could have that screen shot of that war.
The only way for a “hacker” to somehow gain access to all of the account verification information is to hack the player’s email and Apple/Google accounts. And if a hacker did that to someone, they would not be spending tons of time here trying to regain access to the game account. Or at least they shouldn’t, because they have much bigger problems. Like full scale identity theft problems.
Also, as any security professional will tell you, there’s no such thing as stealing “a” password. When someone compromises the security of a system, if they get anyone’s passwords, they get everyone’s passwords. Stealing one guy’s password is Hollywood fiction. If someone has your password and no one else’s, you gave it to them.
Or literally everyone has super strong passwords and yours is the name of your cat and that’s the only one they’ve cracked so far.
