I think if you could somehow get the go ahead to do so, Stan Lee would be very funny to play as. The game only has ONE joke character so far, if you consider Howard, and joke characters are great in figting games! You could make him super over-powered as well and he could have synergies with his favorites!
So, I know some characters can't be added to the game for ownership reasons. i.e. fantastic four. Not sure what else is on that list but I'll try and list some that aren't.
Mutants have recently been getting added so I'm assuming they're allowed, so:
Apocalypse
Mutant Class
Not sure why he wasn't added during the terrigenocide event, as many others were added, including characters from the apocalypse movie.
Quicksilver (x-men)
Mutant class
Same with apocalypse. I think this quicksilver would be a much better addition than the avengers quicksilver.
With the infinity war movie coming out:
Adam Warlock
Mystic (cosmic?) class
I know he most likely will not be in the movie, but he was in the infinity war comic, and it would be amazing to have him playable.

Now, I know he's part of the fantastic four, but again he was in the infinity wars comic, so if it's possible to slide him in

She's basically the reason the infinity war even happened. I know I'm going off the comics a lot but the movie isn't out yet so it's really all I can go off of.
With the new deadpool movie coming out (not sure if this is on the fantastic 4 list or not)

Now, I'm not sure about this as this may just be the x-force deadpool we have, but if not it'd be great to have a new deadpool skin. X-force deadpool is underwhelming and the original deadpool is exclusive to an arena that requires far too much grinding for anyone outside of the top few hundred players to ever wish to play for. He's such a great character but is so absent in the game, fighting-wise. About as exclusive as kang.

oh and if you pick this character for an event quest if you complete normal mode 100% you get a 3* hyperion

I would definitely have Dr. Doom and the Fantastic Four at the top of my list, and I love the idea of having Omega Red in the game. Two that I didn't see on many list that I would personally like to see in the game are Red Skull and High Evolutionary.
Signature Ability - Darkforce Dimension - Blackheart teleports himself and his opponent to the Darkforce Dimension where he is omnipotent and omnipresent.
