If you build a game based on monetising micro transactions and rng, loot box mechanics, then you have to make sure you keep the spenders spending.
And pray that regulators don't follow the Dutch model and ban it...
In the meantime, tread that fine line between incentivising spend putting in content that's just too hard.
The challenge here is, that the spenders keeping the lights on are in the main, end game players, like Seatin. Creating content that makes people like him want to spend, required creativity.
It seems they have run out of creative spark... Huge health pools and attack values, does not interesting content make.
If he wasn’t getting YouTube income for the game I’m pretty sure that video would be a quitting video rather than leaving his alliance, I reckon he will only upload the amount of videos he needs to get enough money to get by
he's not quitting yet but it wouldn't surprise me if he slowly eases out of it. The game is just getting harder which is understandable but its not fun. It feels like a drag doing a quest and the rewards are getting sloppy. The fact we have to have specific champs for specific fights is bs.
Let’s hope that this is the kick that Kabam needs. If one the game’s biggest advocates is on the edge - as I dare say many of us are - then something really needs to change.
I’m in a similar boat tbh, if further down the completion list.
I’ve completed 6.4, all Variants, I have 100+ 5*, 20+ 6*, and I play in P1 AW.
I have no real interest in Map6+ because I don’t want to be obliged to log in every 3 hours and I do not wish to grind 2-3 hours of arena every week to make donation money and then not actually be able to rank anything up.
At the start of the month I set myself the goal of grinding 5k units for my first AoL run and I made it to 3m points in 5* feature before I decided it just wasn’t worth the effort and after watching the Act 7 beta of quest 2 I think I made the right decision - it looks like a total BS fiesta. No thank you
I recently finished my completion of act 6, and I have no intention of exploring it... There was not 1 single point I enjoyed in act 6. everything felt like complete and utter bs. Completely burnt me out, and on top of that over the past 25/30 crystals (5/6*) I've not gotten one single champ I'd take past R3, and I'm over spilling with rank up mats, it's discouraging and just un motivating.
Act 7, book 2 whatever, needs a massive revamp. That sabertooth mini boss is just straight up moronic, like really?.
Kabams gone down hill massively since the release of 6.2 and it just keeps getting worse and worse & they're clearly not listening to their player base.
Act 7 needs to be along the lines of v4 2-3*s since it's the new beginning.
And we need something where we can choose a champ, someone mentioned something like they have in there transformer game, gather enough duped shards & you can pick the actual champ you want.
But for now I'm completely burnt out, and unless kabam make a massive u-turn on there constant BS I won't be spending.
I never thought that seatin will feel burnt oit from mcoc, he always looks really into mcoc. But im sure almost player who already play in long time will find moment that they need to rest. Even sometimes after 1-2 season aw in one alliance,im gonna left and play solo for awhile coz im easily feeling burnt out. Then join new one when im ready to play hard again.
Alliance tend to time consuming, morever when you play in higher tier = more grinding
i watch him often .. he has one incredible point. the rewards are just NOT worth it for the effort you put and time you invest especially AQ and AW. i have no idea why Kabam is stingy with the rewards especially for end game players, Cavalier players etc. i understand the grind mechanic but at some point when the rewards continue to be so minimal, you'll see things like this. it becomes a bore and a chore more than it does fun.
It's really bored to play this game with some super duper dumb champions......Act6 is really horrible they want to.spend us money on the upcoming quests and events....
So sad. I feel like Kabam has been under to much pressure recently and that they have some sort of issues with resources, like being understaffed. New content feels stressed.
I think this content (act 7) came out a lot sooner than what everyone expected - even if only a beta. I think if being understaffed was an issue they easily could have pushed it a few months and no one would have cared.
I’m more curious about how the new game will effect things in a broader sense once it is released.
I assumed it would be close to 6 months before they even did more than tease it to be honest. 90% of players probably haven’t got completion, of the 10% who do, maybe 10-20% have explored it. We don’t need Act 7 yet, those who are in that very small elite who have the skill/roster/wallets to 100% the game need to be kept interested by Alliance based content and one shots like the Maze as they’re the ones who keep the game free for the rest of us.
—— I’ve never come across a game company who’ve actively induced stressful, or *insert word of choice* content on such a regular basis and just expect the player base to eat it or spend their way through it, it’s truly baffling.
Well along with the problem with the rewards is there are alot of champions that are not in the 6* pull that are great. I mean with there now being r3 6* champions of some really great champs, we still dont even have a 5* wolverine or scarlet witch, who could both definitely be added to the game at this point.
What even is this Thread? Is it an ode to Seatin, or a mass vent?
Could it not be both? A major figure in the game's history is on the verge of leaving, bringing up some really good points about what's wrong with the game right now.

A major figure of the game's history? No offense to Seatin, but that's a bit fanboyish. He's not even in the CC anymore. He's had his good points and his bad just like anyone else.
It's sad to see, he has a great channel with great information so seeing him take a step back is sad. Kabam tends to ignore the player base and take a we know better attitude which really turns off a lot of players. Never really understood that stance. We love the game, we want the game to be better, we don't mind spending. They always talk about the game economy but it just takes too long to do stuff. It gets boring, 2% of a T5C crystal in Plat 4 once an AW season.....WHAT? Like just stop it you are better off skipping War seasons and buying an offer if you really want that reward. AW has broken most people. Flow is mega broken and instead of taking player feedback and adjusting it to lower the power gain or lower the stacks they change it to be on parry only. They have the data on non-stun immune nodes showing that this node is still a money trap. I've spent a lot of money on this game, have a huge account and to be honest I'm feeling the same way. Whats the point? It's just not that fun anymore.
The point is, whether it's Seatin or someone we don't know, threatening to quit to get our own way is an old and worn-out tactic. There are discussions going on about all of the issues presented and you can only pull on that rope long enough before it snaps and doesn't haul anything.

So we should just accept that the game is going to remain in this state and not bring these issues up at all? Because Kabam will fix it and make it all better? That hasn’t worked in the past and it most definitely will not work now if Kabam are even making and theorising such unreasonable content like Act 7.

I'm not trying to be fanboyish, I'm trying to be realistic. Regardless of what you feel about his content, he's the most subscribed MCOC YouTuber, any of the other MCOC content creators aren't even close in terms of subscribers (no offense to them, all of them are great). The closest is BG and there's still a gap of 150k people.
Almost all the new players come across him when they start MCOC, he's the first thing that shows up when you search up MCOC on YouTube. Like it or not, even without being a part of CCP, his opinion holds up big time, both for the community and for how the game progresses.
Now, is this technically a good thing? I don't know, but it is what it is.
Kabaam messed up with Act 6 excluding GM fight and are taking the same direction to act7. Kabaam will create a content where by out of 170 champs in the game just 2-5 champs will be useful for that content as whole. Now opening crystal is not even fun anymore because most of the time you are getting crappy champs. If you look at the ratio of good-bad champs in this game is so unbalanced and kabaam are releasing more trash to add to the pull. Sometimes when you think of grinding and you remember there is no point in grinding cause you might end up with a useless champ or a gem you don't want most of the time. Even the Nexus crystals could not save this game from RNG. kabaam should implement a method of getting a desired champion no matter how long the grind will take and Rework act7 the money will come when the drive is there you can't spend on something that keeps annoying on a daily basis. This is my opinion

Same can be said about kicking a dying horse...but at some point you must realise nothing lasts forever
It's honorable you trying to stick up for Kabam always..sincerely hope you're on their paysheet, santa's nice list or something

He’s a major figure in that many players know who he is, just like Dave with his dork lessons channel. Don’t have to be in the CC programme to qualify for that.
In a way you could be considered a ‘major figure’ considering everyone that visits the forums knows of you. Many also know of Trucos, or Otriux as well. ‘Major figure’ is just well known people in the community, don’t have to be good or bad to be well known.
@GroundedWisdom i started a thread articulating all the issues I have with act 6 clearly. Go give it a read. You can’t comment on something you haven’t even started exploring, so we’ll take everything you say with less than a grain of salt
Its funny coz i left my ally yesterday(stopped playing the game altogether) and when i opened Youtube i saw Seatin's vid. The game is becoming too tedious and that's a fact. Feels like a grind most of the times. Too much time consumption as well.
I think people are forgetting or not recognizing how much revenue Seatin creates for MCOC through his channel. So whether you care or don't care, agree, or don't agree, let him speak for you, or not; if he is in fact quitting or just stepping back, that will reduce a major revenue stream for Netmarble/Kabam/MCOC moving forward. I will say that I'm unsure what changed seemingly overnight for him because many of his points are valid, sure. But ultimately this game hasn't really changed. AW has always been a cash grab and a pita. AQ has always been monotonous. If you whale that hard then you should expect that the game will get boring, especially if you're whaling just as hard on another new game that's the shiny new toy. Get some sun Seatin! Quarantine is driving you to quit!!
Or don’t let him speak if you’re one of the individuals who won’t let anybody here someone else’s opinion other then your own
