It is NOT a major improvement. In fact, the minor improvement to the AI in earlier matches is far outweighed by the craptasticness of the rest for noobs and vets alike.

I think Kabam has really messed up. I logged in this morning, ran my rank 2 six stars and my rank 5 five stars and got opponents weaker than my teams. As soon as I loaded a team of rank 1 six stars and rank 4 five stars, the 2x change kicked in and I got an opposing team with 2x PI and Thing and Doom. Stopped playing arena at that point.

The more relevant thing for Kabam is that I did not move to other game play. I have T4b and T1a in overflow that will expire in a few hours. Normally, I would use them to rank a five star to rank 3 or 4 for arena play even if the champ is not God tier. But it makes no sense to do that now because a ranked meme champ won’t hold up in the new arenas. So, one of my main reasons to play is gone now. I have time on my hands this morning. Maybe I’ll hunt for another game to play. Or maybe I’ll find other things to do IRL.

The point is, this game thrives because it is an addiction. But if players spend less time in the game, they may wean themselves from the addiction. Kabam needs to offer game play that is easy, fun and time consuming to keep us playing and keep us hooked. For many that was the arena. If the arena is no longer easy and time-consuming, then many of us may wean ourselves off of the game. And that won’t be good for the game.

Big mistake, Kabam.

I have lost my streak twice in the 4,5,6. every fight seems to be a death fight I have lost without getting hit. I'm about to use six stars for the second time the first was horrifying. If the intent was to make arenas more fun and get ppl to play Im about to stop going after the arenas. This is to much

So its very obvious that your 2X is still way too much, yes it helps when you are running R1 or R2 5*s... But its bad when running R4 5*. The fix to this to keep everyone happy and make areana fun would be MAX 1.2X your team. Its wouldn't be too easy but wouldn't be bad at all.

I will give Kabam props on the arena AI is spot on!! Love it now they are actually fighting! Well done there...

I would not run a full team of Rank 3's though, you'll face the same issues people in the 5 Star Featured do, 5/65 SS Tier Champs, tone it down to a Rank 3 with 2 Rank 1's, the Rank 1's may struggle but the opponents will generally be easier since most have even bad champions at Rank 3.

I already did, its really not that bad.. i seriously dont understand what the big fuzz is. Yeah sure 2.9k vs 6k pi... But they are not that hard of fights.. some of the screenshots mentioning death matches are not even death matches.

All the arena grinders always complain about bots and such.. but they became bots?...

The only reason my team's PI is somewhat keeping up is suicide masteries. But the last one is a clear mismatch of 3x 6r3 vs 3x 6r1. You don't need to be a professional game dev to realize that.

Is it because of my title? Will I get less of this **** if I changed it to Summoner Supreme?

On that screenshot u r literally fighting a 1.5x pi opponent.. how on earth is that a deathmatch?!

This is not a major improvement for experienced players. Every team I bring that isn’t 5* r5 or 6* r2 is facing nothing but fully maxed opponents. As a result, fights are taking much longer than they used to making arena grinding way more tedious. Start listening to what players are saying instead of just claiming that arenas are better than they used to be. I think 9 out of 10 players would disagree with you.

I don't understand why none of the mods are responding. Almost 9/10 of the community is upset with this change. So why don't you guys listen to the community and change arena back to how it was ? Cmon guys.

@Kabam Miike Well from my testing on 4s featured arena and basic
Featured - since 5s champ are alllowed its has much more impact than 4s basic arena
Untill match 21 the fights are decent (maybe harder before the update) after 21 match things going bad and you need at least 5s R4 champs or so since i got crazy champs like Fury, Dr Doom and so on with 15k PI
Since most of my 5s champs are r2 and only one is r3 i cant pass match 23
i guess its the same with 5s featured with 6s champs
On 4s basic the new members will suffer the most since they wont have much arsenal of.ranked up 4s champs

To all those who have given their opinion on this change and do not agree, in your next rounds try with only rank 1 of 5 stars and start making sand that way and no teams of death will come out

Will you see any BAD champions at 5/65, or 3/45? NO
This is why Arena is hard for many players.

An easy fix, instead of going up 2 Ranks at all three of these pain points, go up ONE rank, ESPECIALLY for 3)

They should at the very least be extremely embarrassed. There's nothing they can say that will get a positive response from the community outside of reversing the changes, which they probably aren't ready to do, so there's no real use to them responding to any of us. We can't let them convince themselves that our concerns will go away after we've tried it a little longer. Keep the feet on the gas.

I’d complain a lot less about the 2x constantly if I wasn’t facing the exact same team every single time. Seriously guys, I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve fought 30 times out of 39 against the same summoner with his R3 team of Cap, Doom, and Warlock. It’s insane

basically if you want to keep the streak in the 4 star featured arena you need to use 5s rank5 or 5s rank 4 or else you need to be lucky with being matched with favorable matches even though you're going against opponents with touble your pi. I believe this change sucks not just for veteran players but even more so for beginners. And it's already been mentioned before. Moreover, I need to be extremely focused to grind the arena, which is not what I want to do for hours in a day at this point. Like I said before, I'll drop the arena grinding and the game altogether if this doesn't get fixed. I don't find this enjoyable and I need the sustain from arenas to keep playing the other modes of gameplay. Including aw and story mode and variants etc. This month for the first time I purchased the sygil, I'm not a spender and I can't spend much at all!!!

At least Kabam should come out and admit the change have way too many negative impact and they are working on a solution. This would be acceptable.

These are all after streak 24 in feature 5* arena last night. All of my 6* R1 and 5* R4s were getting the same match up. How is this matching at a max of 2 times my PI?

I haven't read the entirety of the last 3 pages, so I'm not sure if this has been brought up.

These changes to arenas are essentially telling us to do one of two things with our 5*s: either take them to at least r4, or do not rank them at all, unless you do not ever want to use them in arena.

You keep missing the point my guy. It’s not the quality of the deathmatches, it’s the quantity. Simple as that. We are getting a death squad for almost everything right now; the complete opposite of what anyone wanted and what was stated in the announcements

Thank you for fixing the AI.

That’s all that needed to be corrected. Please keep the AI adjustment and revert the match-making algorithm since your “testing” obviously didn’t include anyone familiar with infinite streaks and breaking that was completely unnecessary.

Arena is now worse than ever.

Constantly matching teams of 6 star rank 3 champs consisting of Doom, Nick Fury, Domino, etc. Very painful fights with low rank 5 star trash champions.

Oh and good luck if you have to face 6* r3 Elsa Bloodstone with double edge without a mutant in your team.. you're dead from the degen alone

But thanks for the 3* I guess. No reason to spend $200+ for one anymore

What’s insulting is saying “working as intended”, I feel pretty confident the hardcore and even causal arena grinders are more in tune with how the streak meta is not the same as it was, you want to make harder match ups that’s reasonable but these deathmatch’s that are definitely happening more frequently don’t seem right. And there is no rhyme or reason to it except the matching algorithm is screwed up, I’m not saying there should be a secret formula for universal winning but when I’m running with r4 5* champs and I’m matched against 6* r3 ones that’s not a match, or maybe the term “match” shouldn’t be used

I'm not missing anything. There is a huge difference between fighting Domino, Black Widow Clare Voyant, Warlock, Void, or someone like Wolverine X-23, Captain Marvel Classic, Black Panther Classic.

99% of people would not complain if they didn't run into Meta characters at 6/3, or even 5/65 in the 4 Star Featured.

I think you're missing the big picture. I have over 125 wins in the 4 Star Featured and have not lost a series since this new Arena. I don't run 5 Star Featured because my roster is not developed enough.
