I’m not sure how much value people place in Venom, but he has been my MVP for a lot of Variant difficulties and he kills those pesky evading spiders so easily, so Venom also might deserve a spot on the underrated list, I just don’t know how others value him.
1) hood- incredibly reliable buff control, nice block mitigation on projectile and some great animations- as well as decent bleed and shock that can be constantly refreshed 2)mephisto- triple immunity, cheat death and great buff control, also lots of good synergies and his powergain is quite good when you get the auras up 3)killmonger- doesn`t hit great but fun counter to stun immune and really tanky with indestructible charges, builds up to huge bleed on sp3 and synergies can be quite cheesy in right scenario (check out void synergy on icarus if your curious) 4)glad hulk-reliable heal block, mitigate a lot of clown fiesta through face me + stupid regen akin to mr sinister in the right circumstances, great for magik/mojo/mephisto 5)star lord-even at low combo of 50-100 hits still deals decent damage, no combo shield so high skill cap, and massive potential damage at 300+ hits, no massive utility but hits like a truck 4* max out vs ROL wolverine 360 hit combo got a second hit 100k sp2 crit
I know that you've seen a bunch of these underrated posts but I wanted to take my own spin on it. In my opinion, my top 5 most underrated champions are as followed:
1. Korg - Karatemike helped open my eyes with his recent Korg video and now that I've looked at his kit... he seems like a beast! I'm really inclined to upgrade my awakened 5* Korg now! Bleed/Shock immune, rock stack shield, unstoppable/unblockable, etc... 2. Psylocke - I've always liked Psylocke's amazing power control and very decent aar... but with Apocalypse, she becomes an entirely new heavy hitter! Her specials can hit extremely hard, her crit rate is insane, and her heavy attack with enough charges can end fights. I like her sp2 ability that kinda mimics Magik's sp2 as well. 3. Dormammu - Dormammu has always had an amazing kit... but his damage has usually been seen as lackluster. I think that Immortal Hulk really fixes that by giving him 75% increased attack at max dark energy. After a sp3 he can constantly be at max dark energy, and even regenerate health! Another thing I'm curious about is his synergy with Mephisto... since Surfer has 35% energy resistance at 1.1k rating, would 80% energy resistance give Dorm 2.5k rating? If so, that's higher than Havok so please could someone maybe test this? Double immunity and top tier power control too on top of that! 4.Mephisto - Mephisto is a champion that's always getting new synergies with mystics but not given enough attention. This guy has three immunities and can regenerate health with a cheat death mechanic! That in itself is freaking amazing! His incinerates can tick quite hard when paired with a team of mystics too. (SS and GR) I personally don't like Champion but he does benefit from that synergy too. Immortal Hulk and Hela's synergies sound pretty interesting for refreshing his passive buff prevention. 5. Hela - I see a lot of hate for Hela that she's all numbers and no utility, but I think that's unfair because damage is what she's best at if you think about it. She has the potential to have the hardest hitting attacks in the game if used properly. She could end fights before utility becomes a problem, especially if she's the last one alive on the team. Hela does need a bit of skill and ramp up time but if you time her heavies right she can be a beast! (Also she synergies well with 3 of the above which is pretty cool)
Honorable Mentions: 1. Immortal Hulk - Fun to play but needs mastery to use for maximum damage output and ability to start the next fight at full health 2. Rogue - So good... horseman and professor x barely affect her. Power control, debuff shrugging, life/buff stealing queen! 3. King Groot - Synergies have really made this guy so good for questing! Seriously impressed having ranked up my 6* king groot.
I just pulled a six star KG who makes him good?
Mainly the Immortal Abom and Sasquatch synergies but the Man Thing synergy is a nice bonus as well. What they do is give him a 20% chance per attack from any champion whether it be on block or not to gain a fury buff once out of cooldown on top of the 3 fury buffs you get from the Sasquatch synergy when exiting cooldown. Man Thing will give him another 2
1. White Magneto- While his role as Pre-Fight support is valuable, his synergies are equally (if not more) useful in making affected champs more practical, like Guardian. On top of that, his damage slaps; I've hit 30k sp2s with my r4 4star. Sure, he doesn't hit harder than Red Magneto, but he still hits hard as hell.
2. Taskmaster- Reliable AA reduction throughout the fight, his ideal combo is a good Mix Master counter (MLH) after the first exploited weakness, and he looks cool. Kabam needs to update/fix his Photographic Reflexes, though, and his ideal combo requires aggressive AI (though it isn't necessary if you can reliably stun the opponent). An tweak with just 3 or 4 changes to him would be enough to make him far better than he is now.
3. Annihilus- very straightforward rotation- zerg the opponent and hope your Stifle RNG works out on sp2- yet it's been a ton of fun for me, especially on Cav Buffed Up. Sheer amount of debuffs synergizes well with Despair, and immunity to incinerate, Coldsnap, and Power control with his Control Rod active. Also stun immune 60% of the time he's attacking. Highly dependent on his Control Rod though, and anything which can remove any buff removes it. (You could go for the full 12 stifles on sp1 then rush for sp2, but the gray timer disappeared so it's hard to time, and honestly isn't worth the trouble anymore until Kabam re-implements it).
4. Green Goblin- Safety net in Madness, Offensive utility and damage in his Cunning, and access to a variety of useful effects. Paired with the Red Goblin synergy, all he needs is a way to increase debuff potency and increased power rate and he could be an absolute machine.
5. Crossbones- Cascading damage and Ability Accuracy reduction, one of the few champs who can reduce AA through buffs (other examples of this feature include Cull's Rout and Civil Warrior). Needs a natural way to refresh his furies/increase crit rating to be truly good, though (yeah, he has a Taskmaster synergy which refreshes his furies, but Overrun sucks and takes too long to enter).
Tried to give props to champs others didn't mention, so this list does look pretty strange.
1 - Proxima. This gal seems to get ignored because there’s damage caps in LoL and AOL but she puts in some serious work if you can get her missions down. Sure it’s a relatively long ramp up to get her stupid 500k sp3 but you don’t even need all 4 missions for her specials to do some dirty damage. She can also parry korg all day long. 2 - Sentinel always seems to be left in Ghost, Warlock and G2099’s shadow because he’s not as flashy. 3 - Blade now sucks apparently.
