I really enjoyed the show. The finale didn’t really do it for me though. A lot of it was just fighting, which is fine, but I was enjoying the character stuff so much more. But the character stuff at the end, Sam’s speech and Bucky’s confession, were amazing
Pretty much every character in the show was incredible, but with two noteworthy exceptions.
Sharon Carter did a complete 180 in the final episode with very little setup. I kind of get it. She was abandoned by her country, family name tarnished, lost everyone, but it’s still a bit of a jump. Hopefully we see it fleshed out a little more
And the flagsmashers. They just didn’t work. At least we didn’t have mindless thugs and a leader like we normally do, the side characters were kind of fleshed out. But I didn’t hate them, nor did I sympathise with them. I think their best purpose was to serve as a dividing line between Walker and Sam in their ideologies
Of course, we had the removed pandemic plot, which might have saved them, but in their current state, they didn’t work unfortunately.
That said, Val was only in 2 scenes and blew it out the water, she was amazing. Walker was one of the most compelling characters we’ve had in the MCU. Bucky felt somewhat neglected but still had a good arc. Sam’s journey is some the best stuff in the entire MCU. They really did the work to explore and earn him the captain America title and what that really means. Isaiah Bradley was an excellent antithesis to Sam, but still got a satisfying ending
The Captain America suit is a bit cheesy but I still love it. The fight choreography with it in EP6 was top notch, and I loved all the callbacks.
So while it was a bit of a rushed and messy conclusion, I really enjoyed the show overall, and it did the same thing wandavision did. Made me care about characters that I was neutral towards before and got me deeply invested in their stories going forward
Not to mention all the beautiful Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers setup
Agree 100%.
The contrast between Sam and Walker, Sam and Isaiah, Sam and Karli...hard to come away from this show and not love Sam even more than I did before. It’s his star turn and it works.
Allegedly, Sharon was potentially not supposed to be the Broker—but cuts and timing caused the show to make that her arc. No confirmation, but I can see that as a possibility.
I also keep hearing there’s potentially a lot of Secret Invasion set up here, so who knows who might be a Skrull in the show. Could be a way to explain some of the things that didn’t feel quite right. Also tough to see the Raft and not start thinking about things like Thunderbolts, the possibility of the other Black Widow being there, who gets broken out and how.
Zemo, Bucky, Walker, La Contessa all come off well. The Wakandans play a nice role. CGI is light years beyond what I’m used to on TV. We get Madripoor...
Hard not to come away from this one and feel like a lot of plot lines are out there ripe for the taking.

This pretty much sums my feelings in a more positive intent. Dark Avengers and RAFT had me especially interested since the RAFT was where Sentry locked himself and he's pretty much the most important part of the Dark Avenegers.
I’m gonna he honest this was 1000 times better than Wandavision
Respectfully disagree but you do you.
Well, tbf Wandavision started with painfully cheesy dialogue (I know it was supposed to be like that for the “mystery”), and no semblance of anything actually exciting for the first few episodes. All the characters who were introduced were removed except for vision, and all the overhyping made the story sound a lot more exciting than it was. Looking back, I only enjoyed like 4 minutes of each episode until the finale. Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a good plot, a bunch of new characters that survived, and it had dialogue that wasn’t cheesy and surrounded by audience laughs. So yeah, FatWS ftw. I would not re-watch Wandavision if you paid me.

Tbf, the children looked like they would return in Multiverse of Madness or in the future atleast. Monica Rambeau will probably return with Kamala Khan's series and Cap Marvel 2. In terms of rewatchability, I can understand and see why people prefer FaWS, it has more in-line comedy that fans expect from MCU. In terms of a first-time experience, I prefered Wandavision. Felt more complete to me. Didn't have many messages to send but it did send one message about greif wonderfully.

Tbh I thought it tried too hard to sound deep and meaningful when the plot was actually really simple. Wandavision was very different, and I’m glad people liked it, but if I wanted to watch 70s sitcoms with bad jokes then I would’ve.

Completely agreed. This show really does a lot for the hard tee of Sam Wilson, but it very much feels like a beginning rather than an end, which is great.
That’s interesting on Sharon, I could definitely see that being the case. Although I suspect it’s more likely a lot of scenes were cut that fleshed that out more because they involved the pandemic, and there was just no way to work them in
I always forget secret invasion is coming but you’re right, on reflection there is a lot of setup for it.
It also wouldn’t surprise me if Sharon was the main antagonist of armour wars, even if that is indirectly. It wouldn’t surprise me if her and Val are linked somehow and they are responsible for the ‘running theme’ of Phase 4

Yes on that last point. There’s potential for her to be deeply involved.
This show also sets up the thunderbolts and the dark avengers. So we should be seeing both teams in the near future. Maybe the rumored 4th cap movie or a season 2.
