I think this has way more potential then "use a 4* or weaker" challenges. Take this particular fight with class disadvantage, or don't bring any cosmics in a V7 chapter 3 quest would work better.
There's also a super cool opportunity to have the challenges be classic Marvel fights. The one that immediately popped to mind is take the 6.2 champion with Thing. I know that Thing is a great option for this fight already, but Thing Vs Champion is an iconic Marvel fight, and it would be cool to encourage us to recreate those fights.
It absolutely has potential. When have they ever gotten this sort of thing right though? I'd be thrilled to be wrong here but I have zero faith in them executing this well.

For my part, I am looking forward to this. I’m a little hesitant because, as others have stated, what I’m really looking for is a place that I can use my 6* roster.
That being said, I’m absolutely coming at this with an open mind. I actually don’t mind the single 4* run of EQ objectives. Lately I’ve been doing my first pass with the 4*s so that I’m not just going back over content I’ve done a bunch when I’m doing it and it’s still fresh. But doing it more than once is a chore.
I’m really not sure what Kabam can throw at us here though. Abyss and Labyrinth have mechanics which punish you for using lower rarity champions. Act 6 and 7 have rarity gates preventing us from bringing in weaker versions. When I went through Act 5, 4* champs were the bulk of my roster, but doing it today with a 3* wouldn’t be too bad. I suppose the variants are viable for additional challenges, or maybe we’ll see something like “Solo 6.2.6 Champion with Kamala Khan.” In any event, I’m looking forward to it and I trust that they’ve thought of ways to keep it interesting.
Plus it's seemingly content objectives in content that likely has high energy costs in a month where we're getting a new story quest, a new EQ, and a side quest that also costs energy.
Depending on the objectives they could likely take quite a few runs to actually complete which will be pretty costly as far as energy. Everything about the description (albeit a minimal one so far admittedly) just seems like a bad idea to me.

If it's costly for energy, throwing an energy refill or two for completing the objective would be nice

We'll see how it's done, I just see far more potential reasons to end up completely ignoring them than I do for actually having any desire to do them.

Yeah absolutely fair enough, I’m a bit more optimistic for it, but fully get why some aren’t. I’m hopeful it will be fun, technically challenging, and worth the rewards. Haven’t had something like that since act 6 for me.
For me it depends on the rewards being worth it or not. I would also like to use mostly 6 stars. Also, I don't like the idea of wasting a ton of energy but there's ways around that if that is what Kabam wants.
Hopefully they have a side quest section to recreate the fight so we don't have to go through the chapter. They did it before when we had to re fight nameless Thanos and the Champion boss again in a side quest.

Yeah. The energy is my main worry. Hopefully they do this right.
My only issue with this is currently the game lacks a place for R3 6*s because they’re too much for the current meta and then I read “rarities”. Please, don’t make us use our 2/3/4*s while we’re investing on our 6*s.

While I agree with you, if turns out that Carina's Challenge is doing Act 6 with Four Stars, I will be excited about it. Not as excited, granted, but excited nonetheless
I would like this content to be challenges with lower rarity champs and to have no item use allowed.
The game sorely needs one game mode that can't be bought, and where a skilled f2p player has an advantage over an unskilled whale.
I'm not ignorant to the fact that spenders keep the game going for everyone, but there should be one little corner of the game where skill and practice reign supreme.

I'm sorry to inform you but the spenders, majority of them are better than f2p players from a skill perspective. I hate to break it to you.

Then they wouldn't have any problem with a no item rule for this content.

Oh I reread your quote. You said skilled f2p guy or unskilled whale. I don't know how I missed unskilled and only saw whale. We're in agreeance.

Don’t think that would work. As much as we want this game to reward skill we saw that happen with the champion boss and it pushed too many people out of the game. Now that was story content , and they have shifted from there , but games like this don’t survive unless things can be bought for an advantage or grinded for an advantage.
It would make more sense to cater to P2W players versus F2P because those people that keep the lights on is what matters.
I would expect they give content where it was some of the most challenging things in the battle realm and put them through a challenge of some sort.
Champion boss Grandmaster Bautistas challenge Mings challenge Unstoppable juggs LOL Green goblin AOL Agent venom LOL Ice Phoenix etc.
Ya after how poorly the champion boss was received i would bet we never see another true skill based fight that you can’t just revive through
I mean, I don't think that's a bad thing, as long as there continues to be skill based fights it doesn't really matter whether other people can revive through it or not.
You have to understand that some people prefer to play the game by stockpiling units and smashing their way through content stress-free. You don't have to play that way, but the door should be open for those that want to.

Right, and because of that we will never see another true skill based fight in mcoc. You’re just agreeing with me....
