I think that's one of the major issues at the moment, so it could be useful to know if there are any plans to fix it
And to add to that, if 6* champs are still available in this arena, you're still going to make it easy for people to run into death matches and be less capable of using more of their roster. So the grind isn't really all that reduced like it should have been. Decrease milestones but also decrease value if 6*. This change just makes it looks like you guys are going around in circles. And this isssue is only going to get much worse once 6* r4 champs are filling into the game. This arena will become a laughing stock. You'll be even more limited on what you can do in the basic arena especially with 6* champs being devalued. Actually, the more i think about it, the more it doesn't seem like this change is really any better than the original. Other than the changes you guys made to the lower arena. But the basic and featured arenas are just a mess.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to give it a go on June 10th and see how it is but I'm not going to lie, I'm not every optimistic, and I really wish i could be.
So basically you can not use your 6 stars in the basic. Which is the old 4 star featured arena.
This is great news for lower players that might have scored some 6 star champs early on when building their streak
Since they start at the r4 5* level in PI.
And basically EVERYONE can get a very nice amount of units.

The top milestone in Trials seems kinda high though. 3.2-3.5m would've been more reasonable.
Please also take into account the OCD of many players, who hate having weird number of units (ending in anything else than 0 or 5). So please keep the amount of units in each Trials milestone a multiple of 5.
For the basic this doesn`t matter since having the highest rarity champ does not matter. Since the 5 stars have the same points as the 6 stars. Thus it actually equals the playing field more. And again. a lot of us simply do not have the spirit to grind for a top champ. Only very few people can grind 600+ rounds in 3 days.
In the old 5star arenas you could safely assume that the "whales" i.e. folks that have large rosters of 6stars ranked up probably weren't going to ever really go hard trying to get the 5star basic hero because those champs had been around for a while and 5stars are so abundantly available that they most likely had them already, or that they'd have less utility amidst their rosters full of r3 6stars. Now with those 6stars available in the arenas, we've already seen arenas where cutoff for getting the 6star basic champ are higher than for the feature. It's no longer safe to assume that the "basic" arena will be viewed as less valuable/attractive than the "feature".
With these changes, folks that have prioritized taking more of their 5stars to r3 will have an advantage over those that have been taking 6stars to r3. And with shorter cooldowns on 5stars, they're actually now way more valuable than 6stars when it comes to trying to get the 6star basic hero. With this change, it's more likely that the number of rounds required to get the 6star basic heroes will increase relative to these last few of the new arenas, the reason being is that it's now more likely that you can 'brute force' your way into the basic champ by running more rounds of lower rarity champs vs previously you would not have attempted that since the 6star point advantage was in place.
Will be interesting to see, but I hypothesize that while these changes are better for folks just wanting to maximize units via milestones, for anyone going for champs or trying to get higher % rank rewards, the cutoffs in terms of average number of rounds required will increase for both feature and basic.
"The thing is, with the 6* point nerf, there's basically no change if you grind both milestones. According to my rough calculations, 6*s atm are currently worth around double the number of points compared to 5*s (6*r1 ~ 20k, 5*r4 ~ 10k). So essentially, if we disregard the changes to the milestones, if you had the roster to use only 6*s in both arenas previously, you would have to do double the work. When we plug this in with the milestone changes, we get something like this:
Featured arena (changed from 16 to 12 mil): 2 times the work * 12/16 amount of milestone grind = 24/16 = 1.5 times the work
Basic arena (changed from 16 to 4 mil): 2 times the work * 4/16 amount of milestone grind = 8/16 = 0.5 times the work
When we average the two values to determine the total grind, we get this: (0.5 times the work + 1.5 times the work)/(2 arena grinds) = 2/2 = 1 times the amount of work
Obviously, this math is far from perfect. But even so, it's worth considering. Not to mention, this seems exactly like something kabam would do.
Additional notes: if you didn't have the 6* roster to do both arenas, this will undoubtedly be better than it was before. However, this is still way more work than what anyone had to do prior to the introduction of the 6* arenas; I do not run suicides so the point examples I gave will probably be different compared to someone who does; if you just run the basic arena (which I highly recommend) these changes are absolutely amazing; these changes will even out the playing field if you do intend on grinding for the actual champs."
