I have to say that I am disappointed, the grind for the units as a free to play TB player will still be significantly longer than before, some of the changes are great but the grind time still will need a dressing imo.
How is the grind longer? You can do the exact same thing as you did before and use 5 star champs in the basic and 6 star champs in the featured. The grind remains exactly the same. It is even lesser because you can simply use only 4 stars to get the milestones in the summoner trials.
Can we please get more 4* gems if we're going to forced into doing that arena. This change is the opposite of what I wanted but if could I could at least get more 4* ranked it would make it more palatable
What they have done is pretty simple. They have combined the unit value from 2,3 and 4 star basic arena. But they could not keep the milestone the same since 2.15 will be less effort. So, they have increased it to 4.4 mill. But, by doing this, they have removed 2 and 3 star from the arena entirely because getting to 4.4 mill using anything other than 4 star is a pain. It feels like the time factor will increase for getting those 270 units. We will just need to see by how much the time will increase once it goes live.

It depends on your goal though. It is the exact same strategy as the earlier arena. If you had the time then, you should have the time now if milestones were your only goal.

At a minimum if the 6* champs are getting the same points as a 5*, reduce their cooldown to be the same
This is only in the Basic Arena, which is an Arena they previously could not be used in.
And previously the five stars couldn't be used in the basic either. If you're going to nerf the points from six-stars, it would be better if you removed them from the arena entirely. What we get now is the downside of having 6-stars included without any of the benefits.

No way any “heavy arena grinders” signed off on this disaster. I didn’t complain about the arena changes before, but this is just ridiculous.
Basic arena - they removed the advantage of six stars (higher points) but retained the disadvantage (harder matches). So, six stars are now less valuable than five stars. Total slap to any player with a decent six star roster. Why not just remove six stars from the arena?
Featured arena - this arena will get flooded with players leaving the basic arena in order to get value when they run their six stars. That will affect cutoffs, probably negatively for everyone.
Milestone reward changes - the milestone rewards remain completely inadequate for the effort involved. The changes are insignificant.
Before this, I could just do a run when my six stars recharged every 11 hours and get enough points for 1-5% in the basic arena. So, two runs a day in the arena. Nice for QOL. But now that I am losing the six star points advantage, I will need to run my five stars as soon as they recharge in order to keep up. I will have to make three runs a day of five stars and two runs a day of six stars to keep up. Way too much time to invest for pitiful rewards.
Bottom line. I see no significant advantage for any player in these changes but see a serious disincentive to building a six star roster since they have completely destroyed the usefulness of six stars in the basic arena.

The game does force you to focus on which resources you want to acquire. This month having rifts of all difficulties accessible is huge because I can finally get some of the lower tier resources without giving up higher tier resources. We haven't had an event with multiple difficulties accessible for so long though.

It’s roughly 134 fights @ 30k points per fight. So it’s more then that in the end. 170+ fights for the 6* feature milestones.
Roughly 102 rounds for all milestones, 3 days 34-40 rounds a day.

Completely agree. It’s a change that wasn’t needed.
As and end game player I want to thank you ftp guys for all your feedback. I can easily finish both the featured and basic mile stone arena now with way less effort.

That's actually part of the same problem. People are blowing through Resources faster because they only focus on 5 and 6*s. There are those of us that haven't sworn off Ranking anything. It's just a matter of spreading it around.
