@BitterSteel lol I actually dug up this thread today and bookmarked it coz I thought it had been a while since an update only to realise that it has been just short of a week
Overview of the week This week began pretty slowly, and ended up being a fairly productive week. You may remember I didn't really have much on my plan for next week, just incursions and act 2, but I realised that if I became uncollected, I would be able to rush the last week of UC event quest, get a bunch of 4, 5 and even some 6* shards. So my objective for this week became to push for the collector.
5.2 was pretty tough with only rank 4 4*, and my trusty rank 2 Hawkeye, but I managed. The first 5 quests went through mostly without a hitch, though bane is really tough when the opponent has that much health compared to you. A revive here or there but overall, it wasn't that bad. Soon, I found myself face to face with the collector. The team:
Archangel R4, Hawkeye R2, Doom R4, Vision Aarkus R4 and Prof X rank 4.
My plan was to use a couple team revives to see who worked the best, and then focus on one champion. I figured Archangel could be good without being able to reduce his AAR, but Doom had a high base attack and could occasionally power drain. The first 50% went nicely, with those two aforementioned bearing the brunt of the burden. Hawkeye worked pretty well for an outclassed champion in my team. After I hit the unblockable specials stage however, the annoyance and nightmares came rushing back from my own main account's collector days. I really forgot how annoying this fight was, and although Miike's Revenge had done well to nostalgically remind me of the pain, that didn't feel as high stakes because I had overflowing revives when I did that.
Overall, when the Collector breathed his last, irritating breath, I'd used 3 team revives and 5 singles on Doom (who I used to take the last quarter off, since Doom could stagger the unstoppable and regen), and it was done! Uncollected complete!
As my rewards I pulled Psycho-Man, which felt less than appropriate shall we say. I was however up to 7500 5* shards, and could almost smell the next 5* who would join hawkeye.
First, I rushed the last bit of XP to get to level 40 and unlock UC EQ by continuing act 2 exploration for units. Then I delved into UC EQ, if I completed it I would get my 5*. It was actually tougher than act 5 in places, Kitty Pryde was a horrific boss without a proper counter, I used a team revive and a few singles there I won't lie. Nimrod was a piece of cake with Vision Aarkus, or he would have been if I hadn't failed a special 1 dodge in the first 15 seconds, and stubbornly not wanting to use a revive, decided a 200 hit fight with Shang Chi 3* was a much better option than a single revive.
As for the rewards, they were... a mixed bag shall we say. I pulled a 4* Quake from the 4* shards, which felt good, but then I just don't really want to Quake my way through content, I'm playing this account for fun - and Quake and fun is pretty much an oxymoron. I also pulled Punisher 2099, which I'm interested in, potentially a rank up there. I'm almost tempted to just skip over the 5*, don't talk to me about it. I know I usually post pulls in a spoiler section...
but this one is going in a spoiler section, inside a spoiler section
Yep, at least he might get a buff, at least he is an ok champion at least he looks cool.
Moving on. Very fast.
The rest of the week kinda rubbed it in that my early 4* good luck was balancing out. I did some incursions zone 6 and got a nice chunk of shards, soon ruined by pulling Ms Marvel Carol Danvers, Dr Strange and Black Bolt. Though I did pull a science awakening gem from the Summ(on)er event, could be useful for Cap IW, Void, Torch or dare I say Mr Negative in the future?
Yesterday the new EQ dropped and I've been grinding completion for it, I must say Elsa destroys Anti-Venom, so many non damaging debuffs to eat up, bet Ronin wouldn't have handled that as well @Masterpuff eh?
Ending this week, I opened my last 4* crystal of the week about 2 hours ago and pulled Groot, so if you see me around the forums I'm in a bad mood k.
Notable Pulls Quake 4* Venom 4* (claimed from Venom vs Carnage) Punisher 2099 4* Don't make me say Nova
Notable Rank ups Elsa Rank 1-4
Content Completed Completion of 5.2 Exploration of Act 2 chapter 3 UC EQ completion September and October Zone 6 incursions

Quake might be your best bet yet for 5.4 Mephisto, and an easy solo on modok although I can completely understand not wanting to use her
I'm hoping by that time I'll have better options, but I suppose it's not bad to have her as a last resort. I feel like Archangel can definitely deal with MODOK, even Prof X to be honest.
It's a shame you can't bring 4*s into act 6, those two 5*s will have a hard time in there. Hopefully by that point you'll have a few more decent options.

Thank you! Yes, my act 6 team so far is not building up too well lol. Hawkeye and Nova taking on the world.
I do have 5k 5* shards right now, so I’m hopeful to opening another Crystal this next week. Fingers crossed it’ll be a useful champ for act 6. To be honest, just usable is what I’m aiming for. Poison immune or a debuff shrugger is something really important for Crossbones, or it could be a roadblock

Maybe it's worth going for a cosmic/tech dual for a better chance at a poison immune?
Unfortunately that crystal also has by far the most amount of misses out of the 3 dual types.

I’ve thought about it for sure, but right now it’s not the priority. I think when I get to 6.1 if I still don’t have an option then I’ll consider going for the dual tech/cosmic.
But another idea is to invest in willpower, then that means any champ can take him down just with low health.
Ok guys, I’m going through a little strategy for the side quest for my account. I have to decide which quest to focus on, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go for Crystal shards (but if someone wants to make a case for rank ups materials I’d be happy to hear it)
The two options are 250 6* shards per run, or 1500 5* shards per run. In total that is 7,000 6* shards for 28 days, or 42,000 5* shards for 28 days.
My thinking is this, 4 5* could be very helpful in the long run. Hopefully that’s a poison immune champ, or a shrug off champ for crossbones.
I currently have 3 5* champs (picked up the 5* nexus gold offer, which will be included in the Week 4 breakdown). So I feel like I need to pad out my 5* roster a bit, so while a 6* is obviously more powerful, it won’t do as much for my roster.
Also, that 1 6* could be an absolute dud, whereas my odds for getting a usable champion is much higher with four 5*s.
What would you go for in my position and why? Any thoughts at all are very appreciated!

Definitely the 4 5*s
Better chance for someone good + 5*s can take you all the way through act 6 no problem
4 5* or 1 4/55 5* is really the balance as this account, I would guess, is not going anywhere beyond TB?
So is it 4 5* vs a random class 5* and 7 t4cc plus 4 t2a?
So really, it depends how fast you think you'll get the t4cc and t2a.
Are you joining an alliance?
On the face of it, as a TB, with lots of spare t4cc and t2a, I'd go with the 4 5*. But then I don't know how tough t4cc acquisition is for a new player now. 3/4 years ago, it wasn't great.

Yes, once I get TB I won't really use this account again.
I feel like Champion's are going to be a much bigger bottleneck for progression than rank up materials personally. Overview of the Week(s) Last week didn't have an update as I didn't play the account a whole lot, as I was occupied with my main account 100%ing act 7.3. I have been back on the grind in the meantime and have a few updates to share with you. A lot of 5*'s!
My plan for this week was to originally just push for UC exploration, but as the week went on, the rewards from act 5 completion glared me in the eye and just seemed too good to pass up this early on.
I began the weeks with Deadpool's gold offers, and a 5* Nexus for a relatively small amount of Gold, I also picked up a 1-2 gem to save me some T1 Alphas, which I know will be a bottleneck when trying to rank up more 5*. My Nexus was pretty spicy:
I was drawn to Psylocke as I really enjoy her, and Massacre is a rank 3 6* on my other mini account, but for this account; Pyslocke didn't have enough damage without Apoc, and Massacre doesn't have enough utility so I went for Hulkbuster and his unreliable heavy. Power control, nice damage, armour up for tricky Havok's in act 6, yeah there's a lot I can do with Hulkbuster.
I then grinded some side quest to get the next 5* of this update, I've been going for the Red Goblin quest with Elsa Bloodstone and Dr Doom who both work extremely well, haven't had to use a single revive so far (touch wood). This 5* lead to a lovely addition to the roster
There was a brutally slow troll-over from MODOK to Wasp, and I truly thought I'd pulled that potato but Wasp is a game changer for me, fantastic champion for this account and I'd always wanted to use her a bit more.
I then set my sights on 5.3 completion, which went nice and smoothly if I'm honest! Almost every quest had a power reserve for me to cheese with Prof X, just throwing special after special. The completion got me a Sentinel 4*, literally one away from Mr Negative which would have made my day.
I then went to 5.4, things were getting tough now. Hulkbuster and Wasp had been levelled/ranked up so were helping out, I had a few hairy moments on bosses, and a revive here and there was required. I expected to use a hell of a lot on Ultron at 5.4, I didn't know how well Vision Aarkus would do, since you have to activate a lot of debuffs before you can armour break. Basically, I wanted to only apply debuffs when he had regen or armour on the Impart node, if he had power gain I was screwed if I didn't have armour shatter on him. Also, I kind of needed an L2 with 10 armour breaks if possible, since then there would be a long duration armour shatter, any fewer and I'd risk having to reapply armour breaks, which could lead to massive regen or power gain.
I went into the fight and regen popped up, that was great, as long as I stayed close I could keep proccing the regen and get my armour shatter on him. Hours, or perhaps seconds had passed, and I finally crawled up to my L2 with 9 armour breaks on him and threw my special, I had a nice armour shatter on him. It was a tough rest of the fight, but largely made easier by power locked, AAR reduced Ultron. My armour shatter lasted until the last few seconds of the fight and I finished with a big special 3. It really put Aarkus up in my estimations! Was very happy!
My Act 5 completion rewards were pretty nice, I was up to 4500 6* shards now, and @Masterpuff I apologise for taking the mick out of you saying Elsa was better now...
I probably won't rank X23, I feel like I will get better mutants as time goes on, but maybe the regen will be useful for no-retreat in 6.1. Ronin is interesting, but I'm not sure how much utility he would bring, some DAAR and a slight shrug off, I suppose it depends which other skill champs I pull.
Lastly this week, I finished off the side quest and pulled….
Iron Patriot 5*, I suppose every account needs their absolute dud.
Notable Pulls X23 5* Ronin 5* Iron Patriot 5* Wasp 5* Hulkbuster 5*
Notable Rank ups Hulkbuster to rank 2 Hulkbuster to rank 3
Plan for Next Week I think, I may just be able to get my Symba to rank 4 by the end of this next week, in which case I will probably make a run for the entire Cosmic Horror side quest, I'm sure revives will be used, but a full 6* is just too good to pass up, especially my first 6*. So that's the plan for this week, work on Klyntar Kats on the side quest.
I'm also going to 100% UC, I just have the knull quest to go! I'm close to another 5* so we will see who I get from there. I won't be delving into act 6 for a little while now, but I am two levels away from level 45! So variants are on the horizon, I'm looking good for Variant 8 (hero one), and possible the variant 4 (star level 1) if I can get through the first 2 quests. I'm also one 5* away from incursion 5*'s being available to me, so once I get my next new champ I can open another straight away, been saving my artefacts for this moment.
Wasp is an amazing pull. Have her at r3 and she slaps so damn hard. The low health and BP is sad but since you can chain heavies you essentially can perpetually bait specials without having to block or intercept.
were you able to use the summoned symbiote in act 5?
At the time I was doing act 5 he was still rank 1, I had to catch up with side quests to rank 2 and 3 him. I believe you could use him for act 5, and I would have if he was ranked up.
I’m really glad! Just for you, I’ll keep on doing them
Seriously though, I’m glad people are interested. Do you guys think they’re a good length? Am I going too in detail/is it boring lol. I want to make this enjoyable so feel free to give some feedback

Yeah I love her ability to never take a blocked hit, it’s actually really powerful but kind of a hidden ability, since it’s not written down. MLLL Heavy is usually enough to push them back into the corner and heavy spam, bait special repeat.
As I said, I’ve always wanted to play more with Wasp, and this is a perfect opportunity

The descriptions as of now are close to perfect. Not too abstract not too long.

Something else that is somewhat obscure even though it's pretty much in her kit is the higher attack against debuffed champs after shrinking. This would generally apply to her heavies but it also applies to her specials as well as when you attack after you evade from kit. Although that chance is rare, it does come into play occasionally and her damage fluctuates a lot. Also, she is the best kingpin counter. Took care of 6.2.4 KP in just 58 hits

Just right amount of description/length. It's interesting to see what someone can do who knows what they are doing and has plenty of story line content to do to reach a goal like this. Good luck to you!
Having just done Cosmic Horror on my main account with my rank 4 Symba, and being 5 days away from rank 4ing my symbioide on Mini-Steel, I’m starting to smell my first 6* of this Thronebreaker account…
This feels very, very doable. I’m really excited to get it done, maybe not in my next update on Thursday, but the one after that. I’m really hoping to be sharing some great 6* luck with you guys. Although really I just want someone who brings something to the table. Just someone who isn’t a dud if I’m honest.

Plan for Next Week
I think, I may just be able to get my Symba to rank 4 by the end of this next week, in which case I will probably make a run for the entire Cosmic Horror side quest, I'm sure revives will be used, but a full 6* is just too good to pass up, especially my first 6*.
Here is the roster after Week 5
And here is my first Act 6 Team! (Sorry Nova)
Seriously though, I’m glad people are interested. Do you guys think they’re a good length? Am I going too in detail/is it boring lol. I want to make this enjoyable so feel free to give some feedback
As I said, I’ve always wanted to play more with Wasp, and this is a perfect opportunity
This feels very, very doable. I’m really excited to get it done, maybe not in my next update on Thursday, but the one after that. I’m really hoping to be sharing some great 6* luck with you guys. Although really I just want someone who brings something to the table. Just someone who isn’t a dud if I’m honest.
