Yeah. Recovery is worth it for sorecerer. The difference in her regen is immense and honestly without it her block ability is not as op as it becomes after

Yeah for sure, I have an r3 sorcerer and the block regen is honestly insane. Especially when you can’t use block proficiency champs due to bubble shield and nodes like that.
Week 9 Overview I didn't do a ton of new stuff this week, as I spent a lot of time grinding the new act 3 to get some units and revives (don't worry, not to gift my main. These units are firmly remaining on Mini-Steel). However, I did venture back into Variant 7...
While scouting the paths, I kind of realised that I didn't have an option for Venom boss. My only hero science or cosmic options are really Aarkus and Wasp, but I did have a 2* Ronan, and I was just about to rank him up when I realised two things. Like a lightbulb above my head, I remembered I had a 4* Cosmic awakening gem, and I remembered where I could get a 4* Ronan. Realm of Legends.
I assembled my team, first off - Wolverine counter. I decided my 3* Torch was the best choice, heal reversal meant it would be at least one fast fight. The others would take a little longer... To be safe, I also brought Mr Fantastic to reverse even more health. In retrospect, it wouldn't really have made a difference, and maybe another champ to help on the paths, or a synergy may have been better.
For the rest of my team, I brought Professor X and Hulkbuster as main path clearers. HB was used for Juggernaut, Storm, Scarlet witch and Vision. Professor X doesn't do well against Juggernaut, since he is Psychically protected and your specials cost more against him. Same with Vision Classic, and I used HB for Storm because of class advantage. I used HB for Witch because the random power drain affects Prof's charges, and also each armour reduces the chance for a poison to apply, so it was a nice safety net there.
I ended up doing it reviveless which was nice! It didn't take as long as I thought either, although with a 4/40 prof X it wasn't the shortest either. Reminded me of the first time I did RoL, with a 4/40 Wolverine OG, and a 3/30 Dr Strange (back when he was a god). I used a fair few health potions, but I didn't get KOd once, so was really quite happy.
I immediately awakened and sigged Ronan up as my variant 7 venom counter, I knew it would be a long fight but it's my best option. I ranked him up to rank 2, just because I had some spare cats for him.
In 7.3.1 I went up the middle on the Psychic thorns/life transfer lane. I built a team around Aarkus since he was the only one I used. Since Aarkus has only Sp2 as a projectile, it was slightly a losing battle until I managed to get some armour breaks on the opponent to boost up my damage. But after the start of the fight I could easily stay topped up with life transfer. I managed to do this whole path itemless somehow, the healing was a massive boost to being able to do that - I mean one blocked hit was taking 20% of my health.
The boss was... long. It felt like if a @DNA3000 comment had been turned into a fight. I don't actually know how long it took, but I watched netflix during it and I got through at least 4 episodes of How I Met Your Mother. To put it into perspective, my ronan was doing 60 damage mediums. On a 400k opponent. It was very long.
I ended up putting on autoplay and just tapping the specials every so often to make sure Venom stayed stunned and just focussed on netflix. Let's just ignore the time that I was on 5% remaining and I got a call, and the lost connection screen jumped up. I swear, my head almost exploded. I had to have a break after that. I didn't try again until the next day.
Awh, Ronan looks so happy. How are you not tired my guy.
The last quest was... worse shall we say. It didn't go awfully, but Miles as the boss was very tough. As for the path, I decided to focus on Aarkus again and go for the buffed up path which gave me cosmic wrath (fury passive for all cosmic champs). Psycho man was tough but as the first fight I restarted until I soloed. I brought heimdall 3* with me (amazing pull I got), and actually managed to solo Stealth Spidey on the path at 1% health the whole time. I used a couple revives here.
The boss, as mentioned before, was worse. If you've forgotten his nodes, he has Hard Knock Life and Flux Dispersal, so you need to knock him down to remove the charges or you do 0 damage, but you can't parry or you'll get a disorient and take massive block damage. He also has strike back, and your sp1 does more damage but others do less. So it's a rough fight, plus with his buff, using a special makes him go invisible. I did bring wasp, but she just didn't do as much damage as I hoped, she was only rank 1 to be fair. I ended up using Aarkus, getting to Sp3 and timing it so strike back would take Miles to an sp2, then I'd heavy counter the Sp2 and do some damage. I must have used 7 or 8 revives? But to complete a variant it was definitely worth it.
I'll tell you what was less worth it though...
This bad boy. My first 5 star dupe. Something something true free to play experience. At least the buff program can get me hyped for him (RIP KillGrey).
As for the 4-5 rank up gem, I got Cosmic which isn't useful now (sorry Nova) but will be in the future. A class I could use now would obviously be better, but at least it's there when I need it. I was also then up to 4k 6* shards already!
I used the gold from the variant to R3 Rhulk, who will likely be my next R4 as well, since I need him a high rank for Crossbones. But I also genuinely do want to level up Moonknight for the Variant 8, hopefully I can pull some synergies for him, even thought he doesn't really have any good synergies..
Saying that however, Hawkeye's buff has got me extra hyped this month. Firstly, because I have him as a 5* and I'm so excited to test him out and see how good he will be. But secondly, Hawkeye is getting buffed around the time of his disney plus series, and who has just had a teaser dropped for their Disney Plus show? Moonknight! Who knows, that would be one hell of a buff for this account.
But that concludes this week's overview.

Most Wanted 5/6* Champions Same as last week, refer to previous update
Plan for Next Week I'm going to try and finish Act 3 exploration for the units and revives, that'll give me a strong base to test the waters of Variant 8 with levelled up Moonknight, if that seems ok I may push there. Or if not, I'll go a bit further into Act 6. I don't want to try and make Cav until Rhulk is at least rank 4, because the vigor on Crossbones may be a pain. Rank 4 may not even be enough, who knows.
I will make the decision on Rank 4 Rhulk/Storm X or level up Moonknight at a later date, I also want to do some of the side quest that dropped yesterday.
R4 might be enough for crossbones, I did it with r4 iceman in about 250 hits with horrible cold snap rng. He did have class advantage vs rhulks disadvantage and I boosted up. I personally don’t have rhulk as a 5/6* so I don’t know how great his damage is but I’m assuming it’s higher than iceman’s

Congrats on beating variant 7!
Who knows, if I find myself with energy when I get there I’ll probably give it a go. I’m just not too sure with an R4 and class disadvantage, plus a relatively weak mastery set up. Who knows, I’ll test it out.
The good thing is Rhulk doesn’t rely on debuffs, so he’s got that going for him.
Not sure how I missed this! Eggcellent little trip down memory lane, I did something similar a couple of years ago for cavalier but my F2P experience was very different. I started over Christmas, got a 5* Kang, Hyperion, Wasp and then my first 6* was Ghost so needless to say I won the game.
This does tempt me into making another foray though.

Found this yesterday, read thru it all. Love new account challanges. That makes you play and rank up characters you wouldent look twice at on your main account. I can for sure say that you are really good at this game. I am stil Cavalier, but I think I got the champs to become thronebreaker a long time ago. But I kind a sucks.
I will fallow this thread with my full attention. Hope I can learn some and become tb thanks to you.

I love the way you have to make do on a new account, no using Ghost or Quake just because you can (even if I pulled Quake I don't think I'd rank her up). You play the cards you're dealt, and often find out new champions that you love, that like you said you wouldn't look twice at!
I really hope this thread helps you maybe find a strategy or two that you hadn't considered! I'm glad you found the thread and if I can ever help in any capacity please ask questions, advice, or anything! I love helping others, so I'll always do what I can Best of luck pushing to TB, hopefully we'll make it there around the same time!
Yeah, and it fun to get hyped over a 4* again. And when you get the first 5* its huge for a new account. And You get someone like Karnage and to be forced to learn him and he´s synergies.
I hope you are right, but I think you will get ther way before me.
Week 10 Overview Phew, big week coming up, hope everyone is seat-belted in!
I began by taking Rhulk to R4, as mentioned in the previous week. Levelling up champions is getting painful now with how little ISO you can get compared to how much you need as a non-arena grinding player. Even now as writing this, I only managed to get him to level 55 a day or two ago!
Next I finished exploration of Act 3, giving myself a nice chunk of revives, units and ISO. I tell you, that revive farm in Act 3.2.6 is going to be mighty useful for this challenge, it's gonna save so many units!
I then moved onto the new week of the side quest, and I 100%ed the Epic difficulty, which allowed me to complete the objective and get a 5* awakening gem crystal! I opened it and it was a cosmic, which on one hand isn't much use to me now - but after the variant completion last week gave me a Cosmic 4-5 gem, I'm starting to think the game is hyping me up for Hercules a great Cosmic champ.
My eyes then wandered to 6.1, I felt like it was time to push for Cav. Rhulk was R4 and most of the way levelled up, I had plans for each of the bosses and quests, and I had some new revives burning a hole in my inventory. Sabretooth was already down from a previous week, so I had 5 bosses standing in my way to Cavalier.
First off, the Ultron quest. So I had storm X as a shock resistant champ, but I wasn't sure if Spite and class disadvantage would be too much for her, so I needed a backup. Morningstar with 5 souls was the obvious choice, but it was hard to ramp her up in that quest. One of the nodes is special delivery, meaning I had to use a special every 15 hits. I basically ended up getting to 14 hits and parrying a ton to get enough power, sometimes I'd take a few hits. I'll tell you what, Hela with her unstoppable every time she gets a fury + feats of power giving her a fury when she gets a bar of power is not fun.
The boss himself went down eventually, Storm didn't do very well so I ended up using MS as expected. I could get about 20% off on a good run.
Moving onto Ghost, this quest is pretty easy compared to the others. Long Distance relationship can be annoying, but using parry-heavy with Morningstar solved most problems. Pretty straightforward quest, moving onto Loki with close encounters quest, and again, there wasn't really much to worry about here, just stay close to the opponent.
Then we come to Crossbones, the big bad of the challenge so far. The one I'd been hoping for a counter for. I had my Rhulk as my only poison immune champ, Morningstar could have been perfect if it had been reasonable to ramp her up, but alas, power struggle dashed those hopes.
But Rhulk could work, I was sure of it. He didn't rely on debuffs, he had decent damage, didn't need to use any specials other than Sp1, and was poison immune. The main issue was arc overload, could Rhulk outdamage it? Class disadvantage and the regen could make it a long, if not impossible fight.
Here I had one of my brain waves, I decided to leave the bane node up just to get some extra damage in. Yes, it could KO me over a fight, but Crossbones has short specials, I'm gonna be knocking him down a lot so his AI is going to be more likely to throw a special, and I felt it was better to use a few revives than be completely roadblocked in a fight. So bane stayed up.
The path was easy enough, and I felt good as I portalled over to Xbones. I was fully boosted (or as fully as you can get on a newer account with 2 boosts), and ready to get through him.
I took Rhulk in, and the regen immediately threw me a bit. He was gaining over 1k a tick, which felt like it was 4 times my DPS. However, as I got a few more Sp1s off, my damage ramped up and I started making a dent. I found I could get a nice chunk off of his health in between regens, and while the regen went on I would do a little less damage than he regenned back. Progress was slow, but it was progress. My first fight was 200 hits long, and I think i got him down to 50-60%. Getting KOs meant I'd need to face the regen again unramped, so that lost progress, but once ramped up I took him down further.
I finished Crossbones in 3 revives, 4 tries each with 100-200 hits. It was a good feeling to see him hit the ground at the end..
After Crossbones you always feel like you have got Cav, then remember there's a sentinel too. So I grudgingly moved onto the next, and final, quest. Sentinel was always going to be a long fight, that crit resistance is bad. Not being able to use specials is worse. Hurt locker plus being power drained means it's hard to use more than 1 Sp1 in the fight, without power gain or a very helpful AI. My best bet was Rhulk, decent damage even without crits - the secondary burst damage clearly saved me here from a very long fight. But that's not to say it wasn't long regardless. After a few shaky tries, I got into a rhythm and took him down about 50% in 300 hits. It was gruelling, I had to have a break in the middle. But eventually, he was down..
Action shot, amiright?
Now that I'm cavalier can I start complaining about being screwed over?
From the rewards, I pulled
A 5* She Hulk, interesting but I'm not sure she'll be getting ranked any time soon. I have slow champs and I have poison immune. I also pulled a cosmic 2-3 gem, the game is definitely hyping me for a Hercules great Cosmic champ. I was also up to 7400 6* shards, so I felt excited for the next crystal.
Next, I wanted that next 6* champion to join my Moonknight and Morningstar. So I thought the best place for that would be a variant, 2 chapters and then 600 from somewhere else would do it, but which variant? I didn't have many villains ranked up, but I did have a strong mystic roster, plus the Symbioid, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try Variant 5.
The first quest's easiest path seemed to be the energise, unblockable sp1 path. I didn't have a bishop/havok counter for the strike back path, and debuff immune/bane speaks for itself.
There was the one problem of Mojo, Mysterio and Magneto in section 2 but that was a problem for when I get there. I brought Morningstar, Sorcerer and Doom, along with synergies for MS. The path went really well actually, I soloed all but Mojo, who I needed one revive for with my 4* Rank 4 Doom, so I'd call that a success. The boss was very long, debuff immune, mighty charge, nullify 95% resistance, 90% armour Cap Marvel. I went with Sorcerer and just used my armour phase Sp3 to eat up the block damage, I wouldn't have been able to do it without her.
Second quest was similarly smooth, there's a breakthrough path who's biggest problem was Rhino, but Morningstar crushed it all the way through. Reviveless, same with the boss. Gamora, stun immune, oscillate, power shield. Morningstar's Sp1 ripped through her.
Chapter 2 was pretty uneventful except for the Scarlet Witch boss, who is a bit of a pain. I ramped up MS for her, as I had no poison immune champ. I psyched myself up, we all know how often poison feels like it triggers against Switch. But I told myself not to let it get in my head, if it triggers - it triggers.
It triggered. A lot. And on the first crit of the first fight, which was the first hit of the first fight. And it killed me.
After Switch was down using [redacted] revives, I moved onto the Storm quest, and Symba made his debut for the variant, with bleed vulnerability, he ripped through her and seemed super happy while doing it. Lil bloodthirsty guy, just wanted to help out!!
Now, I was on 9400 6* shards, and the first two chapters had gone a lot more smoothly than expected, so I still had a lot of revives and units, so I figured chapter 3 was on the cards, and a 6*, and 5* and a 4-5 gem. The first quest was Sym Spidey boss, a life transfer/psychic thorns definitely helped me get there with only one revive. (Hint: don't try and hit G2099 with life transfer and Psychic thorns if she has a spectre debuff on you. This is not based off experience. I swear)
Sorcerer soloed Symbiote Spidey spectacularly (alliteration), and I moved onto the Venom standing between me and my next 6*. I knew Morningstar was a good option for this fight, since she does a ton of damage on her Sp2 for each buff on the opponent, but you can't nullify them, so you can just do it over and over again!
There was a pretty simple outlast path up the middle, with an annoying Invisible woman that I had to use MS for. A few revives were burned there..
But the boss went down pretty easily, a couple revives from when he wouldn't use a special, but overall decently. And Variant 5 was complete! 2 variants down, 6 to go!
Onto the rewards, I pulled a mystic 4-5 gem which is guaranteed to go into sorcerer once I get enough ISO for her!
The 5* Crystal...
And now for the main event, a 6* Crystal. Right now I was just hoping I didn't get Iron Patriot. But ideally someone useful.
The reel began to slow, it hopped over Hawkeye, it jumped to Groot, and thankfully jumped another to Doc Oc. And you know when you can kinda tell if the reel is going to jump over one more? I felt that on this one, the reel felt too fast to stop as it hovered on Doc Oc and I just knew it was going to hop over to the Black Panther Civil War who had just popped his head around the corner. But it just... stopped.
It felt way too early to have just stopped, and I didn't believe it until the Doc twiddled his fingers on my screen. But there it was, my 3rd 6* is a banger like Doc Oc, someone I've always wanted to test out a bit more but never had the chance! It was a genuinely perfect pull. And a TB candidate to boot! I now have Tech and Mystic sorted!
I then did an incursion run, I'm now in the second from top tier, so I can do sector 7. I'd say the 5* I pulled from it was pretty decent...
The question now is do I awaken and sig him up, he doesn't necessarily fill a gap but I think he could definitely be useful as an all-rounder. I could get him to about sig 90 now, but that's a decision for later. I'll see who I pull over the next few weeks.
Another question is that I nearly have enough Artefacts for a 27k crystal, and I'm drawn to this one
All but 2 of these champions are a win in my eyes. Angela could be insane for DOT nodes in future, and I would definitely awaken and sig her up. Plus I have the cosmic items to do so.. BPCW is a dud. IP would such but at least it's ISO which could be great to get Doc Oc levelled up. Sup. IM is a dud. War Machine is awesome, G2099 is awesome and HTD is great with the sound off. CGR, I don't think I need to say anything about him. Heimdall would be amazing for Act 6, plus Mr Sinister if I did pull Angela or Hela at some point. Hulkbuster dupe would be really nice, plus ISO. I feel like a 70% rate for a useful champ, and 10% for ISO, 20% for a dud - is pretty good odds. What do you guys think? 5k extra artefacts?
To close out this week, I completed chapter 1 of Cav EQ. I won't go further due to that pesky terrax, I won't be able to get past him I'm sure. Hopefully next month I can make it further. I then 100%ed all of the side quest (except legendary, for which I did a completion run on each weeks). That allowed me to open a last 5* of the week.
It was Mr Sinister I forgot to take a screenshot
Pretend there’s a pic here
A buff could be in order I suppose...
And that concludes this hefty week! A lot of progress made, a lot of spicy pulls, and a lot to think about for the coming weeks!
Notable Pulls She Hulk 5* Luke Cage 5* Omega Red 5* Mr Sinister 5* Dr Octopus 6*
Most Wanted 5/6* Champions Now that Xbones is down, it's switched up a little. My sights are set on 6.2, so counters for there are needed. Remember, these aren't necessarily the best of the best champions, of course I want Herc, CGR, Archangel etc. These are specific champs I could use for fights I need counters for, or just a champ I really wanna use a bit more.
Skill: Crossbones - I have the Mangog synergy for him already, and I could really do with a shrug off champ, that's kinda missing from my roster right now
Science: Yellowjacket - A heal and power reverse champ would be super helpful too. Yellowjacket has great utility regardless; energy/physical resistance, slow, power sting, heal/power reverse, unblockable specials tank etc
Mystic: Mephisto - He has a non-nullify way to deal with buffs, poison and incinerate immunity (not technically immune to poison, but you know what I mean), a great synergy with Morningstar and a lot of nice uses.
Cosmic: Angela - Angela could be a great option for the 6.2 Sinister, not to mention Icarus (the node, not the champ) and other DOT. I would also put Hela and Heimdall at a close number 2, also great options for that fight.
Tech: G2099 - such an MVP all over, she would be probably the only option I'd consider to take down 6.2 Sinister without a fury buff. With the trend of taking on content before I'm probably ready, it's nice to have champs who ramp up damage as they can handle longer fights well
Mutant: White Magneto - Honestly, I don't even have this guy on my main account. He would come in so incredibly handy during Act 6, it's so useful to get around debuff immune/shrug off champs.
Plan for Next Week I'm not sure there's a ton I can do for next week. I will probably spend it trying to stock up on revives, also ISO hunting to try and level up Doc. I'm likely going to work on upgrading my villain roster in order to tackle the variant.
Great read, those long fights looked a bit painful tho. Id go for that incursions crystal, seems to fit ur roster pretty well.
she hulk might be worth ranking for 6.2.2 sinister, 6.2.5 mordo and 6.2.6 champion (though ig u have sorc)
thats HB would pair nicely with a ultron
Thank you!
Yeah I’m pretty set on the incursions Crystal I feel. There’s only a week or so left, it’s only 5k extra artefacts and a basic Crystal would be nice but I’ve had and can get plenty of those!
6.2 sinister sounds awful with just she hulk lol, though I guess no worse than G2099. She’s got potential, but I do want to rank wasp and I’ve just ranked Rhulk. Don’t want to overload my science roster. I’ll see how it goes and who else I pull! Right now my plan for Mordo is Rhulk, Doc Oc and Sorcerer. Champion will be simple with sorcerer and Morningstar. He’s not that tough
Ultron would be really cool tbf, definitely a champ I want to get some playtime with!
Really enjoyed reading all of this right now. Wish you would make it into a YouTube series!
I’m really glad you’re enjoying it! I’m enjoying writing and doing it
I had considered a YouTube series and I’m sure it would get a bit more attention, but I just don’t really have the time to edit everything together if I’m honest. I also don’t put my voice on my YouTube vids, so would be hard to explain all the context. I’m much more of a writer, so this challenge lives on the forum for now!

Plan for Next Week
I'm going to try and finish Act 3 exploration for the units and revives, that'll give me a strong base to test the waters of Variant 8 with levelled up Moonknight, if that seems ok I may push there.
Here's the roster at the end of Week 9
Okay, maybe exactly like that.
Congrats on beating variant 7!
The good thing is Rhulk doesn’t rely on debuffs, so he’s got that going for him.
Thank you!
This does tempt me into making another foray though.
That sounds like something of an ideal start…
he is worthythey are worthyI will fallow this thread with my full attention. Hope I can learn some and become tb thanks to you.
And You get someone like Karnage and to be forced to learn him and he´s synergies.
I hope you are right, but I think you will get ther way before me.
Overview
Phew, big week coming up, hope everyone is seat-belted in!
I opened it and it was a cosmic, which on one hand isn't much use to me now - but after the variant completion last week gave me a Cosmic 4-5 gem, I'm starting to think the game is hyping me up for
Herculesa great Cosmic champ.
I also pulled a cosmic 2-3 gem, the game is definitely hyping me for a
Herculesgreat Cosmic champ. I was also up to 7400 6* shards, so I felt excited for the next crystal.Next, I wanted that next 6* champion to join my Moonknight and Morningstar.
Pretend there’s a pic here
A buff could be in order I suppose...
And that concludes this hefty week! A lot of progress made, a lot of spicy pulls, and a lot to think about for the coming weeks!

Most Wanted 5/6* Champions
Now that Xbones is down, it's switched up a little.
Plan for Next Week
I'm not sure there's a ton I can do for next week. I will probably spend it trying to stock up on revives, also ISO hunting to try and level up Doc. I'm likely going to work on upgrading my villain roster in order to tackle the variant.
Here's the roster at the end of Week 10
Who knows, if there’s an insane offer I may try and grind out some units. I have a fair few energy refills, and I could do some arena
