Why are 3 maps in one BG in defence? Do they affect the selection of the war opponent?
Since defenders now persist between wars (you don't re-place every war), there needs to be a way to account for the fact that you will move up and down tiers as you win and lose, and will be fighting on different maps. You're going to want to have different defenders set up on the challenger maps with defense tactics than the hard maps without defense tactics. Likewise, if you drop from intermediate to easy, you'll drop from the 9-lane maps to the 6-lane map and need to have different defense placements set up.
The three maps allow you to set defense for your current map difficulty, as well as one higher and one lower. This way if you move up/down a map after a victory/loss, you'll be able to have your defenders set for the new map.
I wanted to join , had 2 defenders and wanted to see who everyone else uploaded so I backed out... big mistake, now I've only got 2 defenders instead of 5. Ive always hated war and this sure isn't helping. This new system is a god awful mess. I feel like I shouldnt even bother, it's not worth the aggravation You took a dull and boring game mode and made it worse and more annoying than it's ever been.
@Kabam Jax we have the same issues with 2bgs. It shows 3 BGs for placement, but we only run 2, attack phase is on, but no one knew to start, or place defenders.
The guide in the game is completely useless and after who knows how many wars (I'm nearly 300 war MVPs, so I've done this a lot), I'm sitting here as an alliance leader, thinking this is too hard, to confusing and not at all worth it.
Is there a video guide??
Getting weird error messages, unable to change auto enlistment settings, unable to fix to 2 BGs, receiving odd prompts on the defender page set up saying they are not placed, when they are.
If an alliance member placed his pre-set defense, and then during the season he got banned. There is no way to tell if someone got ban or just missing (without that someone admitting it), but as long as he's still in the alliance will the system keep placing his defenders every war? or his defenders will remove from the map?
Officers in my alliance have to do twice the work now due to persistent placement because we rotate players in and out of war. I have to set up two maps each war now AND have to juggle people getting out and going in. The mods haven’t said a dang thing about all the valid criticisms and the season started with minimal time for us to get used to new system.
In addition to many other problems already pointed out, it must be noted that another consequence of this disastrous change to alliance war is that points are no longer being earned for placing defenders in to solo alliance war event.
For each defender placed, one should earn 600 pts, which equates to 3000 pts per match, maybe 15k to 21k by the end of the 28 day solo alliance war event.
We even tested swapping out defenders in our persistent defense to no avail.
Wondering if any other alliance has figured out how to earn points for posting defenders. All ears.
If our alliance can't get points for placing defenders for the solo event, we don't do war. War rewards are simply too trash to actually waste time on war. The solo event let us place and get some mediocre rewards for doing next to nothing. Why bother if that doesn't even work?
You can't get points on the AW solo event for placing defenders now,and that gave the most points.i doubt if we can reach the top milestone without getting 600 points x 5 for placing defenders each war
And it's probably already been said but I'm not reading 11 pages: Would it be that difficult to introduce a "disable persistent placement" setting for those that don't want to use it?

Thought above was just an observation now that new AW has started *after* we finally got this 28-day Solo AW Event to become available. (was waiting on this new war to see what was actually gonna happen)
But the Points Description actually has been changed now to remove those “Place Defender” points. Milestone point requirements stayed the same.
(that is where this reply was gonna end, but then I looked closer…)
—— **BUT, the “Defeat an Enemy” points has been tripled, from 300 to 900 points. (note, the now-removed Defenders used to be 600 each)
So, actually works out similar, if for example you defeat 5 enemies during a war, instead of getting points for placing 5 defenders. Defense 600 x 5, plus 300 x 5 fights won. == 900 x 5 fights won.
I have two concerns to the solo objective points "solution" above:
1) We've been matched with a couple of alliances that didn't place all 50 defenders. So then it's an internal race/fight as to who can get as many fights in as possible, or calculatin, coordinating, and sharing. Absolutely ridiculous.
2) Players within an alliance may be from different timezones and join/move at different times, be assigned lanes/sections, etc. So now it's an even bigger problem for officers as well as players to coordinate as well as ensuring everyone get their solo objective points. Again, absolutely ridiculous.
There may be other issues with this new solo objective points system, as clearly the team didn't think this through (been happening a lot lately).
Also, no in-game communication about the change. Another miss by the team. Disappointing.

Why do masteries lock at match found… sigh.

wish we could go back to how wars were.
A few good pts n alot bad pts.
Bring back old aw or u will c boycott wave.
Mastery switching is already a massive issue, officers can’t change up defenses with confidence.
