I know there has been a lot of talk about "silent nerfs" and changes going around today. While some of them are bugs, or performance related, this one is an intentional change that did not make it into the patch notes.. We missed including this in the patch notes, and while we do make every effort to ensure that we tell you about every change before it goes live, this one did slip through the cracks. Nevertheless, we are sorry about not getting you this information before it went live.
When we made the change to True Strike to make it more effective against Auto-Block, we also updated the way evasion worked so True Strike would work against it. This change created a problem with anyone that tried to copy the Buff. The solution that we came up with was to make it a Passive Buff so that it could not be copied.
While this change may make a few Champions less effective against another small group of Champions in specific ways, on a larger level this change is a buff to underused Champions such as Spider-Man (Symbiote), Spider-Gwen, and Howard the Duck.
We apologize to everyone for the unintended omission of this change from the patch notes, and appreciate everyone that pointed this out to us! We have already discussed internal process changes that we will be making to better ensure that we don't have oversights like this again.
It’s not a useful buff for the player though, it’s only useful for the AI. Let’s say it’s a match up between hood and Sym spidey. If the player is using Hood, they trigger stagger, but stagger no long prevents evade so Hood is at a disadvantage. The change only benefits the AI.
If the player is using sym spidey, you very rarely get hit and even if you do you can just wait out the stagger. Regardless, this change does not benefit the player at all. It’s the same with spidergwen too.
@Kabam Miike So why is Nightcrawler excluded from this? I can understand the logic behind it, but you left one character out of it. I'm trying to understand these changes. They aren't included in the change log even though they are disruptive to certain strategies. I would almost believe it was left out due to him being a Mutant and Karnak and Killmonger are disadvantaged which seems to be the design philosophy these days, but that leaves out Cable. Doesn't this still cause issues with True Strike?

Howard triggers eveade when he uses sp3 against science champions

No wonder no one knew that one. Who has used/fought howard against a science and let the sp3 fire?

It is so easy to say that you missed out this in your patch notes? What if it wasn't brought out by us? You can sweep a thousand things by saying that you forgot to write it in patch notes. And it took you so long time to come and write this in this thread? Were you just thinking as to what reason should you come up with? If it were so as you said then you knew it and you should have cleared it right when 1 of the guy posted here. Just own it that you do silent changes. Talk about transparency.

Constructive criticism : these slip up's happen a lot more often then they should and we would appreciate it more transparency. Also side note since you guys finally fixed beta testing please keep it going and keep it fixed

This isn't just a change to specific champs. It affects every mystic champ if you're running MD.

The benefit is in war my friend. This allows for a more challenging fight in war intended to garner some more KOs and consequently spend more items. You just have to look at it from their perspective. Of course this in no way benefits the player, really. It really doesn’t make sense to change active buffs that you have to manually trigger into passive. But whatever rakes in more money I guess.

Small group of champions? Really? Effect on MD? Impact on buff stealers? Interaction with nullify as an ability?
while I appreciate the explanation, this by definition is not a bug fix because it was always working as intended. but the game has moved in a direction that makes it so you need to make a change to a player that changes his ability.
I completely accept that you need to move in a different direction with sym spiderman, but is a nerf. regardless of whether or not he is under utilized now, it makes a nerf not to him but to any one using nullifiers like scarlet witch. it used to be that you could parry and chance nullify, now you cannot. this drastically changes the way we have to fight any sym spiderman.
also, I don't see a problem in replicating or stealing his ability. It was fun and interactive to do. there was strategy behind doing it. hits just keep coming.
They can literally sweep a thousand things saying that they forgot to mention in patch notes. Is this even a valid explanation? God knows how many more things are being swept away. And then talk about not doing things silently and maintaining transparency?
Will anyone who’s psyched their all time favorite character - Howard the godly Duck - finally got the appreciation he needed, please raise their hand and say ‘Hallelujah’ with me. Our God just got even better.
Also, boo Voodoo, Loki and Rogue. Just boo. You all should have ranked up the Godly Duck to begin with. Quack!
You think this makes me want to use those champions? Please you are gonna have to come up with a whole list of ability changes for those champs if you want people to take them seriously.

I’m sorry, but this media spin is absurd and only people who don’t understand the game would believe it.
First, what exactly was the “problem” that was created when someone tried to “copy” the buff? The only true strike champs I can think of are karnak, cable, killmonger, and proxima (who has true something, can’t remember he name). To my knowledge, none of them copies buffs. Furthermore, sym spidey and spider Gwen don’t copy buffs. So can you please give us more details on what you mean? Bc what you have written makes zero sense.
Second, to claim that this is a “buff,” Strains credulity. It is only a “buff,” to AI defenders. Nobody is going to use spider Gwen, sym spidey, or Howard as an attacker—and they certainly aren’t going to base that decision on whether their evade buff is passive or active. I would presume that nearly everyone would prefer their attackers to simply not passively evade (other than evading special attacks).
Third, this is yet another example of kabam trying to destroy the mystic class. This new beta testing for mystic dispersion will be the final nail in the coffin that blade didn’t completely close. It started with “diversity,” when that didn’t work, blade was introduced. Once so many people spent numerous resources to get blade and rank him up, time to nerf...er “fix”...mystic dispersion and to create “passive” buffs.
So please, don’t insult us with posts like these. However, I am curious to know more about what “problems” were being created. Would love an explanation @Kabam Miike
Really hoping you'll wise up and deal with these issues the way you should. My decision about getting that Deadpool and entering the arena hangs in the balance.

Uhh...if anyone is daft enough to spend a dime on MCoC until this week’s cluster gets repaired appropriately, then they deserve what’s coming to them.
I have a mutant 5* AG, cats and iso ready to roll. Thought I might take a stab at a slate of crystals for one of the cool new mutants being introduced.
Now I’m playing Fortnite and checking out Strike Force.
So I guess y’all missed the note that Drax will no longer hit Mordo after parry stun. Lol. Y’all are a freakin joke!! Keep digging that hole. Can’t wait till y’all lay in it!
