Looking forward to the next summoner appreciation week that's going to have to come after this summoner appreciation week. Maybe call it dungeon appreciation week to mix it up.
The best part is them deleting comments from this thread who knows how many posts we have missed because of damage control same goes for the 19.1 discussion thread.
If this is just a summoner appreciation, it's fine and appreciated. 100%. Thank you.
If this is supposed to be a compensation package for the months of extreme issues, that would be very bad imo. It doesn't do enough to compensate for 19/overheating/frequent outages/bugs.
Agreed if this is just appreciation then by all means awesome! Based on what Mike said, however, I suspect this is part of the "compensation"
Yes, the Summoner Appreciation week and the included Summoner Appreciation Gift are what we've been referring to in discussions about compensation.
If the annual summoner appreciation is the entirety of the compensation, I'm done spending, if not playing entirely
Here's what I don't understand, In the Official post they called it a Summoner Appreciation Gift. Not compensation, a gift. That gift has somehow turned into compensation.
Just want to put some extra emphasis on "ANNUAL" summoner appreciation. That means its every year and this one is shabby in comparison to others.
Typically you would think that as the years go by things would get better... Not with Kabam though, they are trying out the new method of having things get worse as the years go by...

it was confirmed by a mod in this thread. about page 10 iirc
gift
NOUN: a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present.
com·pen·sa·tion
NOUN: something that counterbalances or makes up for an undesirable or unwelcome state of affairs.
Kabam is trying to say that the gift is actually compensation, which means that it was never a gift in the first place.
They are trying to kill two birds with one stone.
so a month of kabam not doing their job turns to kabam giving us an appreciation week? That makes no sense. We get that on a yearly base. It’s like putting a bow on a piece of ish and telling us this is for us messing up. And the cherry on top is the dungeons. Bruuhhh can y’all get one thing right? Some self reflection is really needed in those kabam offices.
Nope, but what hope have we got of reaching out to the decision makers when they disable content before its released. Can just see them right now with their heads in their hands
The topic includes game outages and discussion of compensation, so I would say for these ongoing issues it actually is pertinent. Also, didn’t you say you were leaving this discussion like 3 days ago? I mean really.
We can just add this to the laundry list of problems in the game over the last few months, starting with all the problems the FIRST iteration of this game mode caused. It didn’t get better from there, and it’s no coincidence there’s issues the very first day it’s launched again. Some people still are having issues with their devices overheating. And final point, since this is subject to forum rules and there’s comments being deleted, it’s actually up to the moderators to determine what is appropriate to the topic or not, and acting like a moderator or answering for them is breaking the forum rules. Something that should be very clear to anyone self determining what’s on topic here or not.
I understand there may be confusion here and want to clarify and confirm again for everyone. Lyra’s statement earlier in the thread is correct and the Summoner Appreciation Gift that is included in the Summoner Appreciation week is the compensation for issues in 19.0 previously discussed on the forums. I hope this is clear for you all now. As always, we welcome and thank you for your constructive feedback both about the gift and the event.
That's just disgusting. Over 3 weeks of unplayable game an you guys begging the community to help you beta test an this it, pure shameful.
You know, for all that I think Kabam has handled this situation poorly in general, and in most particulars, one thing I find inexplicable is players taking random swipes at the beta testing done on the client update. I've heard it characterized in lots of different ways, from "desperation" and "begging" for help, to a Youtuber actually calling it "shady" (which is bizarre on many levels).
However frustrated we might be over some of Kabam's actions and messaging, we're only hurting ourselves characterizing the one thing they did right in anything other than a positive way.
I don’t think the majority are questioning the beta process in itself - but talking about it in reference to this particular issue. It was already hard to swallow that they are a multi million dollar company who didn’t outsource this overheating issue to a competent company to run the beta, and instead asked the player base who actually was harmed or at potential harm to run the beta instead. Then it happened and even after, the issue is not completely fixed, as they have open threads still about it as an ongoing issue.
My biggest issue with it is that they haven’t actually come out and admitted fault or taken responsibility for this. They had to have the player base help them with it, at their own risk, and then after that period they came up with this horrible botched compensation package for the issue itself - while still showing that they didn’t have any intention of taking responsibility or compensating everyone adequately for how it affected those individual players and those in their groups.
Are you talking about the amount they Test, or the success of the Beta itself. You can't say the Program itself has been horrible.
Well it did allow people to exploit unit purchases and some got away with it for months so I guess you could say the Beta itself was horrible.
Okay, this is getting off-topic, so I'm not going to delve too much. I will say this. People are responsible for their own choices. They didn't "allow" people to exploit. That was a choice. A poor one at that. They volunteered to help with the overheating issue and they took advantage of that trust. It was also not months.

And to think of how long they’ve had to prepare
