This may be the reason... and you may be right. They have updated something for showdown and messed up something else OR they knew that the update will mess it up and they did it nevertheless! TOO BAD!
Update: The ai has costed me my 6* Spidergwen and 6* venom in aq, and so far I’ve noticed it Everywhere in the game and it is making it significantly more difficult to do regular content. Are we going to get compensation for the ai problems?
AQ MAP6 AI is now like map5. Super annoying and uninspiring. Please fix it. This is not a no-child left behind type game. Some people will like map5 but please don't make it a cookie-cutter or dumbed-down version of a map.
So after yesterday's update, the AI has changed a bit. After I'm done with my combo instant of holding block or attacking back, The AI chooses to stay neutral. Just stands there, menacingly. Screwed me up a few times since I'd get caught off guard and get hit with a combo.
Was this change implemented into end game fights for a feeling of challenge for the good players or is this change an accident? It makes fights harder. Cannot imagine what AW might be like.
They can’t just say that this is the new ai because it affects other areas of the game, good luck trying to do lol now that the ai is so passive and wastes your time paired with the enrage timer. And when just doing ordinary questing because of the new ai just baiting out a single special attack sometimes makes me get pinned in the wall because of how passive the ai is. Some unblockable specials are to hard to dexterity because of how unpredictable the ai is with throwing their special attacks.
After updating, I immediately noticed that the AI (In this example, the defending champions were in Northern Expeditions chapter 4, the other was in Act 5.1.5) has radically altered its maneuvers and play style. It will “walk-up” as though idling forward, in much the same manner as the “easy” fights, (the first 15-30) in the beginning of an arena streak ramp-up. Then, roughly 85-90% of the time, it will require one or more hits into its block to force an attack, which drastically alters play at this level of the game. It may not even throw an attack, but when it does, it’s next to impossible to time a parry properly now, and equally as difficult to time an intercept, especially a close-range intercept. The opponent also is much less inclined to use Sp1/sp2, no matter how much baiting you do. I have not tested with a taunting champion.
I cannot stress enough that this AI needs to be hotfixed immediately. I was (trying) completing a path towards finishing chapter 4 of Northern Expo, and Marvel Now Magneto killed my 5/65 SL 3 times in a row because of this, and trust me when I say I am way too good at this game for that to happen. I’ve killed that specific Magneto In that quest path several times prior to this update, and this bugged AI is undeniably skewed/altered in favor of us spending much more on revives and potions. Not that I think the alteration is intentional, but it’s so game breaking that I will quit playing this game before I’m made to spend money on content that my champions and my skill level do not justify. This can’t wait for a month, it needs a hot fix immediately. I would like to play the uncollected difficulty of the new EQ Like always, and also the herald difficulty as well, and I don’t want to have to wait for days and days until this is fixed, and I will not spend a bunch of unnecessary money on cheap and cheesy AI!

Yea if it was intentional then that'd be stupid. The AI needs to be a good balance between passive and aggressive.
Start of the month I started doing LOL. It was easy enough, still a challenge but possible in a decent amount of units. However after the update I just needed to finish if the Mæstro. Two days before the update I managed to do Mæstro in 1 revive so i don’t think I’m the problem. However now he won’t play into my intercepts, it’s super difficult to special bait and half the time he just stands there. Three times he’s just been standing there, I hit into him, he block and then immediately throws his special and kills me. THREE TIMES.
Before the update the fight took me 40 units. Now I’ve lost count. It’s something like 200/240. Please sort it out.
I know you haven’t actively changed anything but it’s an AI. It is designed to adapt and sometimes change. Please reset it somehow, make difficult content possible.
Seems like you’ve just given the old Map 5 AI (that you specifically removed because we hated it) to the majority of the encounters in the game. And while it seems I can play around it by not doing a full 5 combo, it is incredibly irritating and should ideally be dealt with in a hot fix rather than making us wait a month or more.
It has completely changed for me. The CPU player spends half the fight moving towards me then stops, with no guard, and as soon as I do anything it either hits me or parry's me. Unless there is a new way to move whilst still holding block, it makes it impossible to do anything without getting beat up. It's like one day I was doing really well [1 quest away from Cav] then I update and it's like I'm playing for the first time.
According to @Kabam Miike you are lying and there was no changes made to the AI.
In that same thread I believe he also says that he said they didn't change anything, but doesn't mean that something weird isn't happening. He also asked for instances and evidence of this happening so they could further look into it.
Was trying to get past Rogue in variant 3, where you have to keep the heal block on. She became so passive just standing there, option was to hit into her, which drove her to sp3, instant death for me, or try bait her sp1 or 2, in which case sentinels heal block drops off and she regenerates. It effectively turned it into a unit drain as she would go from as low as 10% up to 80%. It is also in Arena, AQ and EQ
This new AI aka bug it's just stupid. It's impossible to finished any fight without taking some damage. Oh thanks for nerfing 6.2.6 boss but what was the point of that if all way to the boss it's much harder now? There is no difference where you will be using your potions and revives. If it's a bug better sorted it quick but if it's intentional change than I wanna know becouse the game is not fun anymore and I will be leaving. There is no point to play a game which only frustrate you.

And as for the Kabam response, intentional or not, this is a distinctive change since the update. This has completely ruined my style of play tbh.
