After 5 years of gameplay, I’m quite cautious for anything from Kabam especially those marked as “gift”. Yes they have already mentioned inside the in game email but I used to double check in the forum.
For those who got a coal, I hope it is a joke from Kabam and you can get something good on Christmas Day.
Kabam is diabolical, they could have given the gift on the 25th and thus avoid bad disappointments to curious summoners, regardless of the decision, it will not be a happy holiday if some receive better awards for a personal decision event.
The gift specifically states to hold on to 25th for better rewards ! I am not good at hoarding crystals etc but this one is pretty obvious, so if someone's personal decision is to open it now for coal (which might get converted to something else later) then its their blame?
If it is a gift, why not give it on the 25th, why today and why with conditions? This affects the gaming experience

Exactly, patience is one of the main aspects of Christmas presents. OP is lucky that they get anything at all on Christmas for ignoring the email it came in and opening it early.

Children need to learn that there are consequences to not doing what your asked to do by grown ups, even my 4 year old knows not to open his presents until Christmas!!
Last year (or was it the year before), we had the same thing.
It was a gift from Santa (or Deadpool, can’t rem), and those that opened it before xMas had about 20-30% of the rewards of those who didnt, and a title for being naughty.. iirc... lol

It’s not playing. The mail specifically says what to do. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a “hold onto this until we tell you” item. If you got your coal, it’s on you and only you, not Kabam.
