I am not a grinder of the arena however when I heard about changes coming to it I was intrigued to see what Kabam has in store to change my mind. Sadly I am still deterred. Nonetheless, this is what I think about the new arena structure.
1) While it is nice to have an official fixed amount of points to obtain the 3 and 4 star variations of the champs, the points needed to get there should not be more than what it once was.
2) The upgrade from PHC shards to Grandmaster shards is nice however, I do believe this particular change should be progression based. That is Cavalier and Thronebreaker players should get Cavalier Shards instead of Grandmaster shards and uncollected remain as is.
3) I ran the featured arena up to the 9 mil mark and I must admit not encountering any death squads is a nice improvement.
4) Like many before me, I also do believe the milestones amount to be a bit too much which neglect to meet the needs of F2P players as well as make running arena even more tasking that it already is for the regular grinders.
5) The present structure and layout for the arena limits the amount of units one can get from each grind which puts the F2P players or anyone who needs to grind casually to get 40 units for a revive to complete a quest at a huge disadvantage. It is also extremely difficult for anyone who does not have a massive roster of max 5 stars and 6 stars r1 to rake in the points quickly for each milestone.
In closing I would like to suggest the following recommendations;
1) Increase the amount points gained for using 5 and 6 star. It does not need to be any large amount but a slight buff would lessen the burden of the grind.
2) An upgrade to the arena boosts would also be helpful. Instead of x1.50 to 3 point boost, why not convert them to x2-5 point boost in addition to making the 5 star boost more common than it already is.
3) 6 star arena boosts should be included in all arena crystals including the common one’s where its only 3-5 stars. The drop rates used for the newly revamped featured cavalier crystals can but used for the drop rates for the 3-6 star boosts.
4) if no changes to the present crystals would be made then make arena crystals (particularly 5 and 6 star boosts) available at ALL milestones and not just a handful. In doing so, players would be able to continue to boost their points as they grind all milestones.
5) Increase the amount of units for each milestone. Based on feedback from a grind who spends most of his time grinding arena than anything else on this game told me on average, he’d get 600 units weekly. Based on the new changes, that has dropped to around 400 because its more points needed for the units and if you do not have an extensive roster, it will be impossible to hit all milestones.
6) Reduce the points needed for each milestone. If this would not be done I suggest to include all milestones levels for the 4 star arena within the present structure. That way players who are uncollected and below would have a slightly easier time grinding the arena with the final reward for their point gap (1.5mil) the 4 star basic champion. For the featured arena, the milestones can also be included however the amount needed for the featured 4 star champ should be reduced to 6mil instead of 9mil.
I remember the day i discovered this game. I had just put my newborn down for a nap. I was exhausted and bored. Maybe even a little depressed. Then.... MCOC came into my life hahaha the thought that I could do a classic style fighting game with my favorite marvel character BLEW MY MIND!! It had all the classics. My first champ was Black Panther, one of my favorites. I owned a graded 9.0 copy of his first appearance and consider the Christopher Priest run one of the greatest comic book series ever written. The game kept growing and evolving. I started making friends in the community which i badly needed, and still do! Now we're at a point where every few months i feel personally insulted by an update. I feel like the spirit of Marvel is being neglected by the generally boring champ additions. I feel my time and my loyalty are less valuable than they used to be. This is a great example of this. I hope you are able to find a solution to this quickly. I hope you continue adding champs like this month of May where they are not only valuable to players functionally but also represent what many people love about this game most: playing with classic marvel characters in a fun, interactive way. Please, no more Jabari Panthers and Storm pyramid X. Please use your talents to bring us more characters from the comics and give them kits that matter.
This new feature and basic arena are cool. Yes there are more milestones but you have to think the game is progressing too and has to change with us. Some of y’all might not like the change but it is needed. Now we get both a 3* and 4* in milestones rewards so that is worth some praise because that eliminated two arenas for the featured champ and one for the basic champ. There is more gold and more battle chips so those of us who complained about not having enough gold can’t complain anymore. Yes it took me over 100 fight to get all the milestones in the featured arena but I was able to do it with minimal effort and was able to keep my streak going till I had all milestones.
The new system is really bad. The amount of badges and credits we earn from the stages is very low compared to the old arenas. In this case, we take 2 times the arena and half of the stage is low. ****. While it was fun to tread the arena, it has now turned into torment. I don't understand where is the fun in this
So below are some thoughts. I have taken into account a couple of things here that I think is clear kabam wants to stick to. So it still won`t be perfect. Those things are: - They want to move away from lower star champions as viable options - They want to keep 3 arena's - They want collected summoners to only have 1/3 arena's - 6 star should be available - They don`t want to go over 540 units
Points below are what people really want (what I have read) - 3* featured version more available for less developed rosters - More usefulness of different star types - most summoners only have 1 time a day to grind, so the number of rounds/3 should be resonable - 6 arena's where 6 stars are 'needed' is too much - Keep GMC
My proposal.
- Give all 3 arena's the same amount of units (180 per unit) this is more fair to people that do not have a deep roster, since now they can only get a very low amount of units. With this, all players with a somewhat decent roster can atleast complete the trials.
Summoner Trials: In the old 4* basic the end milestones were 250.000 apart. So keep the top milestone either at 2.1m or 2.25m. Have 1.5m be the 135 unit spot. And then just 3 more milestones with 15 units each. So just extant the milestones based on the old basic arena. Put in a 3* selector where you can pick between the featured and basic at 1m points. This way these players have slightly less units than before from the 3* featured and 4* basic arena, but will be able to use both their rosters to get all the points and the 3* featured like before.
6* basic: In the old 4* featured arena the top milestones were 500.000 apart. So make it so that at 4m you have 135 units. And than extant that by either 500.000 x3 to get to 5.5m or 6m and have the last to be 750.000 apart to reach 180 units. This is still reasonable and should be doable by a lot of cavalier players. If you really feel you have to lower the rank rewards somewhat. Set the 3 and 4* basic at a reasonable milestone. Make this arena for 4/5* champions only.
6* featured: In the old 5* featured the top milestones were 1,5m apart. So just extant that. In other words, keep it the same as it is now. But now just give 180 units instead of 200. You can keep this arena pretty much the same.
Keep PHC and GMC the same as it is now, or lower the 6* basic slightly if you have to down to 6k instead of 10k.
With this situation I think I have ticked all the boxes. People still need to do around 65+65+90=220 rounds to get alle milestones (like before) The game still moves away from lower star levels to get all resources. - Lower level players will get most of their units and their featured champ back. - Uncollected players now actually have a chance to do some grinding in the 6* basic arena and get to the 4* basic. - Cavalier players can do both the trials and 6* basic fully to get the same amount of units for somewhat the same effort as before (360 now for slightly more effort compared to 335 for less effort) - Thronebreaker players will still be able to get all units, like they did before, but slightly more planning and effort as their rosters increase the effort will go back to the old situation. And maybe grind for the 6* basic since it is done with 5* champs now. - End-game players in top alliances and whales can still get their chance at the new 6* champion.
I don`t see any major losses in this situation besides maybe collected players. But let's face it. With all the champs available and the 5 and 6* champs most of them have. Anyone with 2 thumbs and eyesight can get uncollected at this moment in the game.
Pros - more aggressive AI - No “All or Nothing” AI - No deathmatches
Cons - everything Kabam said they did not want to discuss in this thread. They know exactly what they did with the milestones and anticipated the anger.
The only way for the new milestones to fail, is if this change fails. Meaning, if enough people quit playing arena, they will change.
Many of you have clearly stated what is going on with this change! This is an attempt to push the end gamers and whales futher out in front of everybody else. It is intended to do exactly what many of you described in your posts! This change is to reduce and slow our growth by cutting the number of champs we can collect, reduce the units we collect and the number of crystals be build to open. It is not intended to be an improvement for anyone but kabam and the end gamers.
So after running arena here are my score 16.5mil in new featured arena 3mil in new basic arena and 600k in 4* arena (200+45+63=300units) Usually with these much effort I should be able to complete all milestones of 3*4*5* featured + 4* basic arena + first 2 milestone of 2* arena (65or70+135+135+135+10) 480units atleast try to fix arena asap best you could do is reduce milestones for 6* both featured and basic arena ( if these issue won't be resolved many player who rely on arena will quit including me ) I will be leaving this game within 2 week if these issue won't be resolved thx
I’ve posted my opinion on here twice so I won’t go into all that BUT I will ask this. If the arena stay like this, what good are the 2*’s and 3*’s ? The old way was so much better unless you are a whale. PHC shards helped with ISO, and the milestones to get units and battle chips helped with the game as a whole but you actually had to work hard to get them. Also, someone mentioned the people in the game that are NOT whales but are also NOT ftp…. That would be me….as a moderate spender, I would think that Kabam would realize that those people are 80-90 percent of their base. I’ve talked to so many people that think this is a bad idea and are probably gonna quit the game. I understand that people with a huge 6* and 5* maxed roster wouldn’t mind this change at all but what about the rest of us ? And I still have to wonder, what good the 2 and 3 star champs now? Can anyone answer that ? And what good are the arena boosts for 3*’s ? Because most mid level players / moderate spenders are going to have a pretty deep maxed out 4* roster and will be to the final milestone in the easier arena pretty quick with not a lot of rewards and the harder arena would now take that same player forever to get to 16 million. I would strongly suggest putting it back just the way it was to keep the base of your business and maybe put in an extra one ( in addition to the old ones ) that has better prizes and that the very advanced players with 30-100 6*’s and tons of maxed out 5*’s can participate in. But I would probably do this quickly because I see and talk to a lot of people who are quitting. I for one LOVE this game and I do NOT want to quit, but this new change really REALLY takes away from the enjoyment of the game. I know each time I’ve had a problem with the game, customer service has been GREAT at timely responses and did everything they could to help me. I hope Kabam stays in line with that and understand what the base customers want. I know it’s a business and they aren’t in it just to make people happy, but there is something to be said for a company who keeps their customers happy. I truly believe it will pay off to Kabam much more in the long term than just catering to the whales and loaded players. Thank you for taking all of this into consideration.
The Premium Hero Crystals are significantly harder to acquire as you don’t reach 1000 until you achieve level 15 milestone in arenas. How do you expect new players to build their roster?
I am totally disappointed in this new milestones, 33 millions???? Seriously??? I mean it's nice to have 6* arena, but its for those only 500 players who probably are end game players have big roster, but what about us who just want to ger the milestones and shards?? Everything is nice expect the long milestones, hope these milestones are short from next week
I welcome the fact that the stadiums are revised but they should primarily serve to collect units relatively easily. Before you got 270 units from two stadiums (5* Basic+5* Featured) and now you get only 200 units from one stadium for 16 million. So you have more effort for less units and less crystal fragments/ battle chips. The stadium boosters contain mainly components for 3*/4* champs. These should rather be converted for 5*/6* champs.
Many people don't play stadiums because it is very time consuming and monotonous. Maybe there are possibilities to make everything a bit more attractive? revitalizers/healers within the milestones or developer fragments etc. There should still be an extra stadium like the 4* Basic, where you can quickly collect a few units with very little time without having to grind for 2 hours at a time.
I would also welcome it if there would be an Alpha 2 stadium. This could be limited to cavaliers / thronebreakers.
I was really looking forward to the update, but I don't think the time spent on fewer units is justified anymore.
New arena are for huge roster players not for everyone, had to grind alot of arena just to complete 1 6star basic arena and now i am losing more then 200units just because I don't have a huge roster. Please humble request either decrease the milestone or increase multiplier so at least who have a decent roster can achieve them. Thanks

I bet it was very easy, I mean you have a 2.6 million account rating with a profile full of R3 six stars. Of course it didn’t take you that long. Average players can’t do that.
Guessing you looked, so you will also see how much arena I do.. far more than most who are moaning on here.
Which is why I have big roster as I’ve always pushed arena for shards/not just units. More champs, less rounds, faster grind.. very simple logic
2: we asked for 6* arena to be added for those that have lots of 6* and want to continue growing their 6* collection. The only difference i would come up with is the units stretch in this 6* arena milestones will have a large gap to prevent another source of easy units income for a less effort when the core idea of introducing 6* arena is to compete for the rank reward otherwise no milestones in it to give us the player a choice and a reflection if the player want to compete for the rank reward with no milestones reward or avoid the competition.
2: we asked for more added touch spark like extra spice for example when the opponent or you lost a battle then it's thanos snapped into nothing just to add more wow factor.
3: remove deathmatches, but that means squashing the streak formula bug as it was never intended to be part of the game, but it was left for too long that we now need it to compete. Other option is to ban 5* collection in 4* featured arena while those 5* and 6* collection could be effectively used more in 5* featured arena to compete with others for the desired rank reward.
4: we asked for increased arena win points. If not an option then another option would be to increase the streak multiplier to x4 or x5. otherwise none of it if KABAM think it would be too much or something along the line.
5: a new arena boost crystal that is focused on each rarity instead of mixed RNG. Why would a end game player want to hoard a 3* arena booster when it's not serving a purpose in their account to compete with the bigger ones? would be a smart move to introduce each crystal rarity for each own containing 2* booster crystal, 3* booster crystal. 4* booster crystal and maybe 5* booster crystal. That way everyone is handing a equal progression chance to compete in their arena rarity from newcomer to end-game player. To further explain an example then I meant more that if a player that just started to play the game and only has 2* and 3* collection to rely on completing the lower-tier content then they will be having a chance to acquire either 2* or 3* boost crystal and use it to compete in either 2* or 3* arena to continue their account progress. Same thing for the end-game player but in higher tier arena rarity.
6: i'm sure there is a alot of good ideas that could improve the arena section to a whole another level in the suggestion and requested thread page, but it's pretty evident now that this arena structure is kabam's own idea for relying on data and think it's a smart move when the right move is to listen the community first and see their suggestion and request for how to further improve the game. Sure not everything will be grand ideas, but there are at least a few ideas on thousands of pages that can actually improve the game.
my suggestion: Revert back to old arena structure and add #2, 3 and 4 and listen to #6 then maybe things will actually be on the right road.
Turns out I love the new arenas!!! Because of the effort required and the lack of rewards I didn’t do them yesterday and today and I realized how much of my weekend I was missing out on. If the old ones aren’t back tomorrow I’ll just hang up the game. But really, my wife is soooo happy with me.
I couldn't agree more. I use to look forward to playing them for an hour on Sundays and I am going to skip it today as well. I haven't quested. I sign in collect my monthly rewards and then leave and that's it. I am very surprised I am not missing playing. So the new arenas did improve my QOL by not playing the game. Well done Kabam.

For 16.5 and 2.1m literally took me 3day to grind and complete the milestones
Before generally i grind 1-2day and earn equal of amount of units i earned now in 3days

Which is why I have big roster as I’ve always pushed arena for shards/not just units. More champs, less rounds, faster grind.. very simple logic
1: we didn't ask for an total overhaul.
2: we asked for 6* arena to be added for those that have lots of 6* and want to continue growing their 6* collection. The only difference i would come up with is the units stretch in this 6* arena milestones will have a large gap to prevent another source of easy units income for a less effort when the core idea of introducing 6* arena is to compete for the rank reward otherwise no milestones in it to give us the player a choice and a reflection if the player want to compete for the rank reward with no milestones reward or avoid the competition.
2: we asked for more added touch spark like extra spice for example when the opponent or you lost a battle then it's thanos snapped into nothing just to add more wow factor.
3: remove deathmatches, but that means squashing the streak formula bug as it was never intended to be part of the game, but it was left for too long that we now need it to compete. Other option is to ban 5* collection in 4* featured arena while those 5* and 6* collection could be effectively used more in 5* featured arena to compete with others for the desired rank reward.
4: we asked for increased arena win points. If not an option then another option would be to increase the streak multiplier to x4 or x5. otherwise none of it if KABAM think it would be too much or something along the line.
5: a new arena boost crystal that is focused on each rarity instead of mixed RNG. Why would a end game player want to hoard a 3* arena booster when it's not serving a purpose in their account to compete with the bigger ones? would be a smart move to introduce each crystal rarity for each own containing 2* booster crystal, 3* booster crystal. 4* booster crystal and maybe 5* booster crystal. That way everyone is handing a equal progression chance to compete in their arena rarity from newcomer to end-game player. To further explain an example then I meant more that if a player that just started to play the game and only has 2* and 3* collection to rely on completing the lower-tier content then they will be having a chance to acquire either 2* or 3* boost crystal and use it to compete in either 2* or 3* arena to continue their account progress. Same thing for the end-game player but in higher tier arena rarity.
6: i'm sure there is a alot of good ideas that could improve the arena section to a whole another level in the suggestion and requested thread page, but it's pretty evident now that this arena structure is kabam's own idea for relying on data and think it's a smart move when the right move is to listen the community first and see their suggestion and request for how to further improve the game. Sure not everything will be grand ideas, but there are at least a few ideas on thousands of pages that can actually improve the game.
my suggestion: Revert back to old arena structure and add #2, 3 and 4 and listen to #6 then maybe things will actually be on the right road.
