I did not imagine this was possible just a couple of weeks ago. I now start the ascent to the Throne, hoping to gatecrash the Grandmaster's party.
Can I do it before July 4? With 12k units?
Turns out, there is really no hurry. I am far from forming a Tier 5 Class Catalyst and reaching the next progression title. So, the match-up against Grandmaster can wait.

After seeing this, I pop a class gem and injected 100 sigs into Red Mags.

With the boss of this second round having a metal tag, it feels like the previous round's investment is giving good returns; except that I fell prey to Aspect of Death
Took on Domino and brought along Mysterio, with excellent result.
Round 2
So, two down and with the boss of Round 3 also a "metal"
I recall spending lots of time thinking about the counters I can use against Clapback in Act 6.3.1 and I thought why not, even though an easy path suggestion was True Strike, Aggression: Cruelty. Perhaps it was not being comfortable fighting the mini-boss Annihilus who was rebalanced, though I have BWCV. I'll need that little bit more of confidence.
Round 3
This path was another I weighed on. I have an unawakened 6-Star R1 Diablo and a R1 to R2 gem. In the hands of a another Summoner, this could be an easy path.
Darkhawk
I forgot I was running Clapback near the end and that cost Doom at the hands of Proxima.
I am yet another step nearer to my goal of meeting Adaptoid.
This continuous unresolved power struggle in the Battlerealm just encountered a small plot twist.
With this class catalyst selector floating around, there seems to be an urgency to deal with the Grandmaster sooner than later.
Can 10k units fix the impasse?
I tried to find champs able to inflict the required debuffs on the Defender and preventing a "Biohazard" type damage. It is listed above the path buffs images below. Here's hoping it is accurate.
Except for BWCV, I don't have any of the needed champs or if found in my roster, they are un-ranked. I went the Ghost path and clearly Venom was MVP here, dispatching Spider-man and Spider-Gwen with ease while Red Magneto continues to decimate Robots and Metal tag defenders. I forgot to bring a champ to deal with Ebony Maw but manage to get by.

Champs inflict armor break and coldsnap immune; Annihilus, Corvus, Sabretooth, Silver Surfer, Warlock
Champs inflict bleed and incinerate immune; Apocalypse, BWCV, GR
Champ inflict poison and shock immune; need new champs or are there new champs introduced having these abilities?

Finally, I meet the Adaptoid and I am bringing CAIW along.

Wow, I had really completed Act 6.4.5. Do I dare to dream of stepping into the next round and obtaining a prize I did not think was possible for my level of gameplay? While deep in thoughts, at the corner of my eye, a less than familiar figure appears.
