Those crystals gave good rewards. Whatever they introduce now will be money locked, the amount of crystals to be earned will be less. What about chances at thanos, kang and weapon-x?
I am glad i stopped spending/lowered my playing time with the game. Was looking forward to christmas time as gifting was enjoyable. GGCs are gonna be so pay walled now.

It's the same thing, only instead of gifting, you buy them for yourself. Kabam did the right thing, and that's the first I'm saying that in 3.5 years of playing this game.
I'll keep an open mind until the new system is implemented this year.
They should have communicated such a thing MUCH earlier than 4 months away. I am more disgusted at how they handled the situation - as per usual where most of my disgust comes from.
I can understand that, it just doesn't affect me since I don't have alt accounts and stuff like that, but people that have been farming units on alt accounts through legitimate means are getting shafted along with the scammers and the likes. But yeah, Kabam's communications department leaves a lot to be desired.
Oh well i guess i will push end game content to december with all those juicy consumables... If u really think about it.. 3000+/- is a lot of consumables.. better than farming them yourself... Making an atl is still good..
Removal of the gifting event was the best solution to fix it, overall. Unless it would be reworked, which I highly doubt. However, having the courage to actually go ahead and remove it? That's impressive actually.
But I won't put my hopes too up. As far as I know, the new event that will replace it could end up being the same thing, or even worse to some extend. Let's just hope there is some sort of cap or something to avoid the real problem that the gifting event really had.
Or.... Revenue isn't their main concern but user experience and preventing fraud is..

Yeah, it doesn’t matter much to me either. I have a few real world friends who play and it was fun to swap with them. But the “industry” that built up around Gifting was undoubtedly corrosive.

I don't want to admit publicly how many units I grinded for -- enough to make the casual observer sick. I didn't pay anybody, I didn't hack, I simply I spent hundreds of hours playing with alt accounts. I have many thoughts on the news that Gifting Event isn't coming back.
1) I appreciate Kabam sharing this info in August so that I don't build any more accounts between now and then. 2) I wish Kabam had told the community at the close of the 2021 Gifting Event. The concerns around the event were known then. 3) I feel like the reasons behind decision are with merit. Competitive balance is important. I see where Kabam is coming from, but it still hurts my feelings. 4) My average alt account harvested 4500 units just by beating Act 4 (one pass) and full exploration of Acts 1,2,3. That's too many units for a noob to spend responsibly. Rewarding Stoney Cores for lesser certain milestones, and Carb Cores for greater milestones would just be a logical starting point. 5) The notification just posted by Kabam said they will allow us to use our alts to gift consumables. Cool. I expect this means there will be a 1 month(?) period where we'll have a temporary gifting badge? My inventory cannot hold all the consumables that I can send my main. Even if I use all my loot to crush some Abyss paths, I don't know that I can spend my consumables before they expire in the standard 30 day period. Please consider A) Increasing our inventory capacity for the items that you will allow us to gift - OR - allow us to gift a special item that doesn't normally exist (like a 50% revive & 50% health potions) and give them a ~6 month expiration date so that the players have adequate time to spend them AND they don't stick around in our inventories forever (which is a Kabam desire).
Only reason I have an alt account is to send myself GGC. Have 9000 units saved up since last gifting event. All down the drain. Ridiculous

Profile pics and titles are the most useless items in the game.
If they made profile picks into a modifier (e.g. use Hawkeye profile pic, Hawkeye gets 10% boost) and more niche ones that served like mini-masteries... then they would be heavily sought after. As it is... 99.99% of them are a waste of code, and an insult to what could have been.
Get one in an incursions crystal... sorry, you could have had shards or gold, but accept this shiny repeated title instead.
I guess we will just have to wait for them to be reinvented as gear instead.

They will probably have an alliance event similar with the points being gained towards how many of those crystals a member opens and not gift... This will probably cut off all the bots that sell discounted GGC per value... Its all good and gravy... But who on their right mind would ever open cav crystals now? 🤣

There is no optimal timing, only what benefited you specifically. If they told us after last gifting event ended people would still find something to complain about.
Just had a random thought, what if we earned shards for the new "gift" crystals like we do current monthly eq/sq shards? That way ftp players can still get more than just what the holiday calendar usually gives.

There are whales who spent on gifting and whales who will buy these crystals. Everyone else just farmed for units. The people who grinded units and spent those on gifting never really contributed financially to the game. They still won’t be able to. Whether they buy these crystals or not doesn’t really change profit margins for kabam!!

This is where i completely disagree...as the official post said.. 850k crystals were acquired fraudulently.... Probably bot farms at a discounted rate.. lets just imagine.. 10 ggc for 60 bucks.. well those 60 bucks will go to kabam directly now..

I demand refund for my purchase of Daily Collector Card since early this year. I pick those deals you offer to us to stack up my units, I do comply with your login everyday bs. All that for gifting event. I dont care about consumable. Refund then all be good.
But on the other-hand there’s just so many despicable people out there, and the global chat is just cancer but with extra steps. And even showing generosity was weird because of the culture the game created. I would send people free items and then they would reply “Oh man now I’ve gotta grind arena to pay you back this sucks” Which to means is just baffling. It’s like the concept of “Gift” doesn’t really exist in this game.
