When I was in high school and the game was relatively new, a lot of my friends played it and we convinced one of our teachers to join our ally. Nowadays I wear my battlerealm brawl shirt from time to time and so far one person has mentioned that they used to play, we talked about it for a little while
I heard the sound of the game in my office and thought I had my phone on the game when I pass by a guy who works a few seats away from me playing. We are now in the same alliance.
I was buying MCOC Funko Pops at Barnes and Noble once back in 2018, and when I was checking out the cashier looked at the box and was like, “oh I didn’t know they made these for this game.” And I was like “you know Contest of Champions??? 😃” and she told me about how she used to play it. I got excited and like oh what’s your top champs, these ones are mine blah blah. Her highest champs had been 5* OG Captain Marvel and Colossus. She ended up needing to gently shoo me away to she could help the other people in line, cause otherwise I would have kept trying to chat about the topic haha
Only once in Sao Paulo, my city, on a bus, I saw a guy playing Mcoc. For what I saw, he was playing for Alliance. Talked to him that I play too, and he gave me some tips at that time, i never forgotten. Corvus is one of the best for your progression. Nowadays, Corvus is one of my top 5 stars.
Was helping out at my friend's farmer market stall and notice the guy at the stall beside ours was playing MCOC .. and he was in AW, during non peak period both of us was comparing our account and discussing about champs and usefulness etc.
My officemate played it, now i the one who left, but i meet several of my ally teammate, we actually live very close to each others, and we will had meeting in restaurant, eating and talk all about mcoc. In Malaysia, there are several restaurant open 24 hours and the staff will not bother you if you want to stay long
A guy siting next to me at a poker table in a casino was playing. We talked a bit between hands. We found each others account added each other as friends. We would occasionally chat in game. Then he dmed me ingame a couple years later saying he quit playing because he lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. Not sure if it was true but never heard from him again.
I work in a retail stationary shop. And i remember one day a customer came to the counter while fidgeting with his phone. He went to get his card out and put his phone down, thats when i saw he was playing mcoc battlegrounds. First time i ever encountered another player outside. Because he was paying the game auto chose his defender and attacker lol. I don’t remember who he got but i hope he won.
I work in Melbourne and saw a guy playing on the train but I was getting off next stop, so didn’t say much. Felt like I was breaking his concentration.
Both my friends’ sons play when we get together but they just randomly tap the screen and not understand the mechanics.
My son’s school kids came and talk about who they had in their accounts before the assembly a couple of times. My wife was not impressed that day…
Yeah, couple of days ago i was playing bg on my break. There is a small cafe next to my restaurant, there were 3 dudes sitting there and talking. I had my phones volume full ( without music, just sfx) they heard the noises characters make when you hit. They asked if i was playing contest, i said hell yeah. They asked if they can have a look at my account. As soon as they saw my characters they said ok mate, you're waay above our league. I was a bit proud ngl.

On my way to work via tram I saw a guy playing MCOC. If I remember correctly he was fighting with Ultron.
