Lmao. I am a head manager of litigation I can assure you I know how business works a lot more than you I have degrees to prove it. Don’t sit here and tell me what u do and don’t know without valid evidence to back it up. I have remained silent and patent for 10 years but I am done being silent for it has done no good for the state of the game.

Alot of good those "degrees" did you then when you can't even tell the difference between a bug fix and a bait and switch. Perhaps leave the game management to the people who actually make games. Unless you think you can do better?

My degree is of no concern to you. Matter of fact it is of no concern to anyone except my employer. I'm here to play a simple mobile game. But I do know the difference between bait and switch and a bug fix or nerf.
Lmao spend your money then lmaaao on a dying game. You guys are so small minded you’re letting a greedy company win you over it’s crazy lmao
Its crazy a head litigation lawyer is threatening a gaming company on a saturday night too. Also, you gotta take it up to your boss or partners if you decide to sue and they will probably look at you with a very funny face.
I didn’t threaten anyone lmao I stated the true the obvious the law. As courtesy to the community but all you Kabam lovers here is offense but reality Kabam is offending you you’re just too ignorant to realize I guess? You’ve being scammed. I care I’m trying to help the community not threatened them lol all I’m saying is all I now is law. And this is distasteful idk why so many are offended that I’m standing up for you? For us? For the community? Are you all blind? Or are you just that gullible?

We've all been silent and "patent". The fact remains that they are the experts at this particular game.
If they are the experts why has it taken them so long to address these issues? Why did they wait until a boycott began when they’ve known about all of it for a long time? That’s where I’m struggling to understand their reasoning. Why can’t they just take the game down and fix everything? I’d rather the game be down for a few days than it be unplayable???

What part of skeleton crew don't you get? They don't have the manpower to do everything all the time every month. You must be new to mobile gaming because if they took down the game for anything longer than 24hrs, they'd never get those players back. The game would absolutely 100% die at that point. Live service games aren't ran like old school mmos.

Why is a head litigation lawyer trying to tell a game developer how to do their jobs? Lol I'm gonna ask my vegan friend for a BBQ chicken dish recipe now brb.

Actually know Ive played this game since 2014 probably longer than you. Which is why im finally speaking up now. Continue to excuse their faults, it’ll solve nothing. Eventually you goo, will be let down. But you continue to defend a company that thinks nothing of you. Which is fine by me. You do what you feel is right. I sinly don’t agree or believe kabam anymore. You’re welcome to though I understand others opinions and respect them I just personally feel differently about it all.
Lmao all the kabam train has come along to dispute my desperate plea for the entire community I am not after Kabam nor do I wish to file anything against them I was stating facts and you all got upset and defensive by it as if you work for Kabam which I don’t undetectable lmao I’m literally advocating for the player base and community using logic reasoning and degrees as insight and it’s being completely rake the wrong way but again this has always been why the game is at odds lol. No one cane seem to agree we all seem to take offense to transparent discussions. What a lost cause, why fight for a community that doesn’t care lol.
Which is perfectly fine. You're entitled to your own feelings and thoughts on it. The part that needs to be understood is they're doing the best they can with what they have. Do they fall short? No question. However, it isn't because of a lack of effort or will.

I don't get it; are your degrees in law or in business? Or are you saying you did the joint MBA/JD program? Also, what is "head manager of litigation"? I've never heard that phrase used by lawyers....
I made a post earlier and after thinking on it more I would like to also add this:
What I dislike most is, imo, a major red herring.
Specifically, the discussion about how fast players are progressing due to all the reward avenues as if y’all don’t literally have a “sale” every other day that makes progressing way too quickly (and I’m a spender. Well not anymore for the time being). It waters down the game and while it will make y’all more money in the short term, it has now created or at least very strongly contributed to the frustrations players now feel. Because now players feel empty playing the game and feel like it’s not rewarding enough even though they progressing faster than ever. I would much rather progress through accomplishing things in game than shelling out money every other day. And again I am (was) a spender and I have no problem with that.
But now I’m asking: what am I spending for? Am I spending to complete something that gets me worse rewards than what I paid for in order to progress enough to complete that quest/war/bg match/incursions run, etc. A majority of the time the answer to that is yes. Ok, so then why complete those things in-game? Ok, so if I don’t have the motivation to complete/compete because it’s much easier to just spend money to get those rewards (and those rewards are typically much better anyways) then why play the game? And if I’m not playing the game, then why spend money?
Short term y’all made money. But we’re past short term and now y’all are at the point where those players are starting to ask themselves the above questions. It’s not a sustainable model.
And instead of addressing that reality in the slightest, instead reward avenues are blamed as the problem/reason that players are essentially progressing too quickly. Blaming reward avenues is the red herring and while it might work short term (for a Q or two) it will fail long term. Because those player won’t spend on a game that doesn’t feel rewarding. Yes, y’all might make a little less money in the short term as you figure out a better strategy for sales but it’s better than making bank for another 6 months then watching a steady, unstoppable decline as the most loyal of your customers walk away (they are the lynchpin for so much of the game). The second and third order effects of putting profits this highly over player experience for the most loyal of players isn’t a decision that has typically panned out for companies in the long term.
i agree with some of this.
i'm not against capitalism and money is what keeps everything afloat, and i'm not going to pretend that i know business or game development, but mcoc used to be a much different game. over the last 8 years there's been a big shift from doing content to doing transactions at a store.
brian even touched on some of this a few years ago.
again, nothing against business, kabam SHOULD make profit, but i miss when content mattered more.
when the finale of act 5 came out in december 2017, everyone got their first 5r5s at the same time. months before it there was a few catalyst sales i think but it wasn't enough to push them over.
even though nowadays most nonspenders get a chance at a new rank shortly after the whales get one, everyone's still spending more and the number of big sales events have almost quadrupled.
back then we only had july 4, cyber monday, and gifting.
and cyber offers had a purchase limit of just 1x and clearing out the whole store cost just ~$200USD total (crazy when you think about it). clearing out cyber monday now costs $1200USD if you buy the relic odins.
....and we also have:
valentines spring cleaning omega days 2-3 sagas 2-3 champs sales (bastion, jack, nefaria) july 4 cyber monday banquet christmas day deals
again, nothing wrong with spending or making money, i've spent a lot myself and wish kabam the best but the game's losing some of it's meaning.
you can retire for years, come back, quickly do some important content to catch up, then clear out 2 stores and you're immediately back to the top. you won't have the highest prestige but it's comparable if you play your cards right and you'll be drowning in champs with the second best rank.
this model is very inviting for returning and new players, as it should be, otherwise new players would immediately quit if they couldn't catch up, which i get, but this makes the work of committed players a little pointless.
what's the point of ranking high in any competitive mode if a few months later someone who didn't even touch the mode then spend $100 and nullify all that effort?
i guess i'm rambling but you get the picture. that said i have no animosity to kabam, it's a very tough business, they've generally done a great job with the game, and the community is really hard to deal with so i wish them the best.
I read the whole thing. Some of it makes sense, like stopping people from being able to accumulate rewards by quitting matches for non-participation participation points. But I'm having trouble understanding why it's necessary to force people to play BGs "regularly." The idea of punishing people for spending too many days away from BGs just sounds draconian. And it sounds in conflict with something you also state in this post, that you don't want to force people to make unreasonable time commitments to this game that turn it into a chore. This would be the first time anything in a playable, solo game mode directly penalizes people for not playing every day, or whatever the timing is going to be. We know not playing can make you "miss out" on earning rewards from temporary events. But there has never been an ongoing event that punishes you for not playing it steadily and regularly thoughout its running time. Pretty much any event I can think of lets you wait until closer to its end to do a "cram session" to finish it, if that's the way you choose to play. Letting people be flexible with their playing time reduces the sense that the game is a daily chore. Some people have more time to play on weekends than during the week, or vice versa. Some people will have a particularly busy week that reduces their playing time as well, after which they want the ability to catch up.
I think putting in a penalty for not playing regularly will be an unpopular move. It seems like it would be hard for a player to even keep track of that. How are they going to see that they're about to have their ranking "decay?" Is there going to be a constant clock saying their rating is going to decay if they don't play a match today? Is there going to be a chart saying you have to get to this rank by such and such a date or your potential rewards start disappearing? Are they going to get sad emojis informing them that their rating just decayed if they open bgs after a few days?
Even worse for incentives, I can imagine people being totally demoralized by their rating "decaying." Once that starts happening, they'll be far more likely to just give up on that whole bg season, if not the bg game mode altogether. If they're being told their same amount of work will now result in a lower ranking than it did yesterday, they're going to question whether it's worth it to forge ahead and do the same amount of work they did last month but now for less rewards.
This whole concept is NEGATIVE reinforcement, which is not a pleasant thing by its very namesake. You currently have the solo objectives which work as positive reinforcement to get people to play every two days. It might make more sense to move the solo event rewards to these solo objectives to increase the POSITIVE reinforcement for playing regularly, rather than seeking out a new way to punish people.
As for my experience with bgs, I am a Valiant who's been able to get to gladiator circuit for the past ten months or so. I absolutely could not do it before that. The retooling to matchmaking that was done about a year ago has helped me a lot, as well as starting us out at a higher rank at the start of the season. However, I NEED to progress slowly throughout the bg season to get to the circuit. If I start progressing too fast, then I start facing impossible opponents, and end up wasting elder's marks on matches that I cannot win. I can NOT get to the circuit until the last few days of the season. There is a huge difference in the deck power of the opponents early in the season vs. later in the season. So, if the game tries to punish me for not getting to gladiator's circuit early in the season, I'm not going to be happy about that, and will probably consider abandoning bgs as a game mode, depending on how severe the punishment is. Because I simply cannot get there early in the season. I already know I can't compete in gladiator's circuit. I lose almost every match I try. But it's been satisfying to be able to get there every month for a while, and earn that rare emote as a gift.

Look you can plea all you want, no one can question your current feelings toward the game. Probably we all feel the same way, there is a reason why this threads exist. Do it as a player, as a 10 year old spending veteran or whatever you are. The moment you say "I am a lawyer" people will probably say "Rofl another lawyer wah wah legalities, its illegal"...

I started playing in 2014 as well. I've been playing video games since I was 7 years old. I never said I wasn't frustrated, however, I know 100% full well what it takes to run a video game whether it's on console as a AAA game or a mobile live service game. Either the game recovers to a better state or it won't. Simple. There's no reason to go ballistic over things you cannot control. Do you think they enjoy having thier life's work coming off as poor performing? Sometimes things happen you can't control and the game being in the state it's in is a direct reflection of last years changes in management and team size. But yall don't wanna hear that. All yall wanna do is say give me more and do better without having any kind of empathy or sympathy. They're struggling too. It's not just about you.
Again respectfully members of mcoc I didn’t legally threaten anyone lol I was using my background to help aid you in my reasoning not to cause some crazy legal debate. I don’t want marvel to fail or end I don’t want Kabam to fail or end why would I be speaking if I didn’t care? I don’t wanna cause them issues?? I want the game to be operational. That’s literally it. I want our time dedication and money spent to not be in vain. Why is that such an issue to the community?? Maybe it was my approach maybe it was taken incorrectly and if so I’m sorry for offending anyone truly I just spoke my feelings my thoughts and you don’t have to agree to them but I also don’t with to offend you by them or cause some meaningless argument either.

See I respect that you gave me your reasoning and I do understand it. I’m not trying to offend anyone I’m really not. Idk why so many get offended when we are trying to advocate for the entire player base but I hear what you’re saying and maybe I should take that into more consideration and I appreciate your honest input.
Thoughts about battlegrounds as a 7 million valiant active battlegrounds player camping at Uru 3 (bcos the rewards don't matter further up) and alliance leader promoting battlegrounds to my alliance members despite the rewards depreciating over time
I have a hard time getting alliance members to play battlegrounds with the same rewards season after season so any improvement to rewards is welcome, I'm not asking for anything crazy, just some improvements on a regular basis
Remove 15 energy cost for battlegrounds might get more players to play battlegrounds, players don't get anything when losing in battlegrounds using energy except a little bit of points in solo and alliance battlegrounds events, the vast majority of the players have better use of their energy on other mode with guaranteed rewards like monthly event quests
Battlegrounds is really end game mode, I have a 100 million rating alliance and that's why I promote battlegrounds to them bcos it's suitable content for them with reasonable rewards though depreciating over time
The voices complaining really represent the minority of the playerbase, basically the top tier players, I'm at 7 million, top 14,000 in the game in terms of account size and I always end up near my account size ranking in battlegrounds which is Uru 3 (top 8501 and beyond). As what was written, expanding GC is welcome
GC point ls scoring is too narrow, winning and losing is almost the same points so even top players end up at where they were even after playing for 2 hours, as what was written, any change is welcome to the GC points scoring
I know it's been as what was said by some, 20 months without any change, still I feel that the players just have to be patient and give more time for the changes to be implemented, as what was written battlegrounds is a niche mode and the focus is on the majority of the playerbase who doesn't play battlegrounds actively
I know that battlegrounds is not the most important mode for the vast majority of the playerbase, valiants still form the minority of the playerbase. Still battlegrounds is important for the valiants who have nothing else to play after completing everything else and also for youtubers who have something interesting to livestream on a regular basis
I think we can criticize whatever we want but tbh Crashed is one of the most transparent and nice CM we ever have. If Miike or even Jax still here, they gonna just make a post from whatever Kabam wants them to say, not include their personal opinion like Crashed here. Hey Crashed I hope that you can transfer all of these frustration and hate to the management team. They need to stop being so greedy. The majority of players base don’t spend more than 3 hours per day this game. We don’t need those end-game content come out crazy like now so you guys can stop spending time on working these, and focus on improving the game quality by fixing bugs, rewards
