Eh, you have enough units to get Phoenix. You’ll be fine
@Cloudddey_bro he won't have enough for j4 and cyber tho. J4 costs 36k units . Not sure if its better he spends them all here vs saving for those events

Yeah but he wasn’t complaining about the price. He knows he won’t have enough units for those, he’s choosing to spend them on this event.
At the end of the day, the game isn’t ready for 7 Star Hulkling, Hercules, or Cosmic Ghost Rider - and we didn’t feel like any other yet to be released Cosmic was in the right spot for this Event. There was a period of time we discussed adding Carnage to the Crystal so there would be one Champion per class.
Would that have made this event better?
Ultimately, I felt very strongly against putting an objectively less than desirable Champion in this Crystal, and creating the possibility of a lesser experience for Players opening 1-2 Crystals, simply to have one Champion per Class - so I pushed pretty hard against that.
The way I see it, is that this keeps the Crystal loaded with Champions at the top of their Class for players engaging lightly in the event, while guaranteeing one of the 6 for those going all the way to the end - on top of the Selector that gives a copy of one of the other 5 - creating a much better chance to walk away with all 6 Champions.

This makes me feel even better about not having a cosmic champion in the crystal. If our option was carnage, then thank God it’s just one less chance to get a dud. The crystal is significantly better with one less champion

Thanks rex i will take my 20% chance at a champ i want over a less desirable cosmic and lower it down to 16.67%

What I wouldn't give for Carnage with like Scream's kit. But as is, yes, thank you, this is much better than having him dilute the crystal with his outdated abilities.

I agree with you and I appreciate the comment. I think maybe communicating that with the community would have eased the whiplash and knee-jerk reaction.
Edit: i want to be clear that I'm not against how the event is structured or the decisions made for it. I think it makes sense and am excited for it and dark phoenix. You guys have been doing a great job recently which is part of why it felt so out of left field and rug pullish
Last year was such a good year for "champion-chase" events. All of the deathless and their dupes were available by doing high-end content. This year it feels like it was flipped upside down completely. Dark Phoenix is put behind a serious paywall. Lumatrix is barely available as FTP, not to mention his dupe. Already worried for the other Eidols. Magik apparently getting put behind radiance for god knows how much.

Radiance is free though so magik doesnt count of how easy to get free to play as everyone can get her with radiance only downsides was lumatrix since only a handful are able to get him free

The way they implemented stark spidey, masacre, and spidey 2099 was perfect. Extremely hard to get but can be actually be earned through playing the game. And if you’re a whale you could still just blast through the content with units to get them. Now, I want red guardian more than any other champion, and have no way to ever get him through just playing the game.

Except that Kabam literally just gave everyone a free 6* Red Guardian. So what you mean isn't that you can't have your favorite champion. What you mean is: you can't have your favorite champion for free at the highest rarity as quickly as other people who give Kabam money to run the game.

This is the big thing. People are acting like getting the 7 star version of a newly added champion within the month of their release completely free is a given right lmao. 6 star lumatrix is still a lot of fun and completely attainable free to play, and unless you're playing bgs real hard you don't really need much beyond a 6r5a since time is only an issue there

The major issue (that i was hoping your comment wouldve touched on is that you guys will be running this similar to how the Omega event ran which required 36k units) and those 36k units doesnt even guarantee you distinct champs. Sure theres a selector but you could get a bunch of apoc/ibom dupes and completely miss tigra or FAM after using your selector on Nick.
Banquets one redeeming pro was the box and key concept of the gacha because then at least you wouldnt completely be shafted by bad RNG.
If were spending 36k units, at the very minimum it should have better odds than a random 1 in 5 shot.
Banquet for instance gave you 3 out of 6 distinct options for only 15k units. But now were doing 36k for significantly worse odds.
I think this is the major issue , that there was all this suspense hype and buildup for these new release Champs with the rug was just swept right under with how they were going to be marketed
I'd love to hear your thoughts about this or @Kabam Crashed

Why isn't the game ready ? Because they are attackers ? Yet your happy with a 'balanced' serpant ? Herc I 100% agree with as he's a cheat for story content, but the other 2 we are 100% ready for. Tigra is probably faster than the pair of them in the right hands. I'm not even complaining I dont mind who's in the pool, I would just love to know why you think the game isn't ready.

Not to speak for Kabam - but getting a meta relevant, exclusive champ awakened offsets normal bad RNG at 36k units. Also, you are going to have people dupe Nick Fury or Tigra without have to get to 36k. That’s a pretty big win that would be prevented from a gacha box.

Tigra allowed but Hulkling not definitely comes across as bizarre since she's the fastest nuke we'll have and 1 of the most versatile. Hulkling is not only a lot slower but he works in a lot less matchups and gets shut down by more meta nodes. He can't do Zola but Tigra nukes him for instance.
Agreed I've no idea why they had to go and ruin it like this, and on top of this pat themselves on the back live on stream saying "oh yeah we did a good job cause nobody guessed it which was surprising"... Wdym surprising? Is it surprising people didn't think you'd make a bad decision? Lol you'd have to be pretty dense to hype an event up this much then go ahead and release a completely different champ than what people were expecting based on how the event was presented to us, and on top of that make her a meta defender and lock her behind a huge pay wall. I would've taken a buffed Groot a million times over this, hope they'll learn from this (not the first time so here goes nothing).

Couldn't you guys just have buffed Groot or another cosmic and added them to the crystal? I am not even kidding, I got excited when I saw Groot and I thought to myself "surprise buff" but then you hit us with the "no it's Dark Phoenix" which left me completely unfazed tbh I couldn't care less about spending money to get her.

I understand your point however, the fact we get awakening gems so much easier now nullifies it. Theyre selling them in the radiance store, which means theyll have them in a lot more content going forward. Also, the event itself has an awakening gem.
To put the RNG difference in perspective
1) Banque with Box/Key: 3 unique pulls from 6 for 15k units Say you're interested in all but 2 of the champs (for e.g. sentry and purgatory). The probability of getting at least 2 of the champs you want out of the 3 box/key attempts is a whopping 80%.
So not only better RNG but much cheaper unit cost wise.
2) Random Crystal Omega Sales had 2 random crystals and 1 selector, with 36k unit cost (not counting free units)
Say you dont want Apoc or iBom (the 2 worst options). The odds of not opening them both within 2 draws is only 36%.
This also has more than double the cost of banquet

Nah carnage would’ve been so bad, I’m glad y’all did not go through with that. I’d rather there be no cosmic in the crystal than a freakin carnage

But I gotta ask, why isn’t the game ready for a 7 star Hulkling, you could argue the game wasn’t ready for a 7 future ant man, or even Tigra, but you decided to release those two.

You're just salty all your predictions failed
/s
But for real, you can't expect them to add the champs people expect AFTER they've already decided on who the champion will be.
Not to mention it's not Kabam's fault people made up their own expectations about the event based on a tease that didn't support any of the things players decided the event was.
The reality is that not every event is for every player. Some events are targeted largely at F2P (the 10 in 10), some are mixed like the Poolshields one on right now and some that are intended for those with big pockets.
I'm not going to be sinking much cash into the Heart of Fire (in all likelihood) because it's clearly intended for those with the aforementioned big pockets, but so what? For those looking forward to it, fill your boots. For everyone else (like me) there'll be something more of interest later on.
We know that, however in omega days you could get lucky with crystals and get the champ you wanted early on Now if you want dark phoenix that possibility doesn’t exist anymore and you are required to spend 36k or more units

Definitely this outcome is way better. But if adding carnage to a crystal like this was even a discussion, then it’s a good thing we don’t hear about half the things that get scrapped in the background 😂 😂. Cause this is scary stuff
Yep! Was really looking forward to see who that 6th champ would be in the HOF crystal. Big time jaw drop when Kabam announced that champ and how we would be getting that champ. Not just surprised on hearing about the champion themselves, but the way they pay-walled this champion making it really difficult for most of the summoners to get her. All I can say is, this was an absolute a-hole move on Kabam's part!!!
Well...they did same for lumatrix. When they did, people with excess money showed them why they should repeat it and now they have. You ask me, they deserve a round of applause.
Until a lotta these spenders start thinking and maybe people stop throwing monies at their YouTube channels because obviously, it's because y'all keep throwing monies at them when they stream that they get to spend unnecessarily on some of these events so yhh. Until we all stop doing the ****, then the company will begin to act logically and sensibly.

I think this is the major issue , that there was all this suspense hype and buildup for these new release Champs with the rug was just swept right under with how they were going to be marketed
I'd love to hear your thoughts about this or @Kabam Crashed
Herc I 100% agree with as he's a cheat for story content, but the other 2 we are 100% ready for.
Tigra is probably faster than the pair of them in the right hands.
I'm not even complaining I dont mind who's in the pool, I would just love to know why you think the game isn't ready.
i went in more depth here

And the top BGs player even echoed it here
I would've taken a buffed Groot a million times over this, hope they'll learn from this (not the first time so here goes nothing).
To put the RNG difference in perspective
1) Banque with Box/Key:
3 unique pulls from 6 for 15k units
Say you're interested in all but 2 of the champs (for e.g. sentry and purgatory). The probability of getting at least 2 of the champs you want out of the 3 box/key attempts is a whopping 80%.
So not only better RNG but much cheaper unit cost wise.
2) Random Crystal
Omega Sales had 2 random crystals and 1 selector, with 36k unit cost (not counting free units)
Say you dont want Apoc or iBom (the 2 worst options). The odds of not opening them both within 2 draws is only 36%.
This also has more than double the cost of banquet
/s
But for real, you can't expect them to add the champs people expect AFTER they've already decided on who the champion will be.
Not to mention it's not Kabam's fault people made up their own expectations about the event based on a tease that didn't support any of the things players decided the event was.
Now if you want dark phoenix that possibility doesn’t exist anymore and you are required to spend 36k or more units
Until then kudos Kabam.
