Is Human Torch too strong to be a 7*?

I've been watching CCP videos of Torch and he seems to be melting everything, literally (especially with prefight) even if there are no masteries in the CCP map. What do you think? Even if he is only available to P2W players and whales, do you still think he is too powerful?

In those CCP maps, all things looks better than they are, I'm not saying he is bad but I Wan to see him in current BG's meta.

I mean…it doesn’t matter. He is coming to the game no matter whether we think he is too strong or not. He’s going to be super strong, but is not going to achieve his peak back in his hay day.

He's not a trophy champ because the other versions (6* to 3*) are in the basic crystals

I recall there being concern that "Tigra is too strong to be a 7-star", and now here we are a month later, and nothing has changed.

The "too strong" designation is really only a problem for Kabam's design team (in terms of what characters to release and how to design content), and really is not a question players need to be asking.

I'm leaning a bit more towards no and here's my reasoning: yes if they draft Torch and you draft a mystic you're cooked, you can't place any mystics on defense if Torch has been drafted not even Enchantress unless they get the worst AI ever and take a lot of block damage. However, unlike the time when he used to be op and was able to cook not just mystics but every other class, you can beat his scores against meta defenders from other classes with the actual counters to those defenders. Can he do Zola, DThanos, Photon, Serpent etc? Yes he can, but he will take a decent amount of block damage and his score is 100% beatable with champs that actually counter those defenders. If someone's using a Torch vs your Zola and you're using Karolina you can 100% finish that round with more hp than Torch and since time doesn't matter as much anymore you will probably win, if they're using Torch vs Photon and you're using Mantis you can also easily win with more hp left.
I'm not denying Torch will be very strong because he will be, but I don't think he will be absolutely dominating like he used to because against most defenders nowadays, while still being able to nuke, he won't be able to leave with full health because of chip damage unless they play extremely safe like Nick did with that Photon but then that 30 sec fight turned into 50, Mantis still beats that score easily.
Not to mention, there's others he straight up won't be able to do like Red Skull, DPhoenix, Yelena, Bullseye etc. He will definitely be meta just not dominating everything like he did before, I don't think he's op at all, very strong but not op so what really bothers me here is the paywall.

He's not stronger than the average "great" attacker you already have in your deck. And since that champion is not too strong for the game neither will he be.

Besides mystic, he has a very limited number of meta matches he can do with competitive results.

Y'all always overhype every new 6star that was once at the top when its time to come as a 7star. And they always FIT RIGHT IN.
HT was never game breaking he just excelled at fighting an entire class of champions.

HT was never game breaking he just excelled at fighting an entire class of champions.

To be fair he was busted back then not just because he deleted the mystic class but because he could do 80% of all defenders from every other class, we're talking back when Korg was still a top 3 defenders and Red Skull was a noodle. The meta in terms of defenders has shifted so much and that's why he has lost some value, he was definitely borderline game breaking before Photon tho that's why he was one of the most common bans in BGs.

I can’t see how. We have Titania, Silk, Ham, Spider Woman, etc. All amazing champs that can take a lot more than mystic defenders super fast (and mystic isn’t even close to one of the best defensive classes anymore). He’ll melt mystics and stuff but again I think there are way better champs

I watched all the videos and the levels of overhype are genuinely insane. Broken this and that and stuff

Feel like it’s gonna be the same case with Doom when he drops. These champs aren’t even close to the top anymore imo

I won't say who but I know alot of your 6star "God's" who will not be as great as yall give them credit now when they become 7stars but let me keep my mouth shut for now.

Every old GOD 6star always gets overhyped and ends up just being "Alright" when they come out. Look at Galan. Hurts but its the truth. Its despicable how he's made absolutely NO NOISE since titan reset. If I had said, he was not going to be as dominant with the current 7stars when he was initially announced, all hell would've broken loose on here lol.

If torch is too strong to be a 7*, then we will have to delete onslaught, serpent, and many other 7*s who are also too strong.

If you asked 2 years ago, yes he would be remarkably stronger than pretty much all the 7*s that existed then, now however, he isnt anywhere near the strongest.

7* Doom is gonna be a menace on defense, his stats, except for health are among the strongest in the mystic class and as a 7* with additional Challenger rating he's gonna be even stronger.

Do you know how many champs with block damage mitigation we have in the game? Same thing with nullify or buff immune? He's not going to be a menace for anything unless there's a block penetration meta like the current GC one, and even then his specials are easy to dex.
