And yes the boosts are laughable. They hardly make a difference other than regen a little bit of block damage it’s still if you get hit with a full combo at these nodes you die. And most of the nodes are structured so that you must play absolutely perfectly with the highest ranked champs to stand a chance. That is if you stand a chance at all due to the rng combination of champs being able to ruin your chances right from the start.
Just wanted to leave some feedback that I've just (23rd Jan) gone through a 50k Mordo on cornered and power gain node. The epic difficulty is still beyond reasonable even with maxed out 5 stars.
My team was wrecked by Epic Wasp with all boosts activated and a 20% attack. One crit hit did 76k damage. I was about 10 seconds into the fight. Thanks Kasham for the package you gave out today but it is still broken!!!
They won't answer. Just chock this event up to being a money grab for the whales and move on.
Kabam catering to Endgame (whales) and beginner players and leaving those of us in the middle completely out to dry. Everything is either way too hard without throwing money at it, or so easy and with mediocre rewards. There is no in-between.
After attempting day 7 of Trails of the Alchemist Epic difficulty, that took place yesterday, I thought Kabam, you must be taking the piss. 52k wasp was a tough challenge with the nodes she had, but I persevered even though her damage was utterly insane!! I managed to get through 3 fights, to then be wiped out. I came across a 47k Iceman, with the buffs he had on him, he was literally an impossible champ!! The coldsnap alone wiped all my guys out in a matter of seconds. Even with all the boosts available to me that I collected throughout the week made no difference whatsoever.. there’s tough challenges , then there are piss taking challenges! Unless you are going to throw stupid money at items it’s a waste of time. I quit the event, no fun at all!! Just a cash grab event for the filthy rich whales
Can’t wait till this is over ... hope they do they Chinese new Year gifting event and not role over it using the FF as a excuse or distraction thinks it’s 5th of feb so we shall see what February brings 🙃
Well, I have give my opinion on EPIC trials. Too random, and some parts of it too hard, especially for the rewards. In some parts or with particular random rolls of gamblers fate, or disarry, and the like, along with some particular opponents for that day, the difficulty is straight up BS. I can also tell on this that the AI has been tuned up to be faster and more tricky, than any other content. Blocked damage is very significant as well.
If Act 6 is mostly like this. I'll retire. It will amount to all frustration and no fun. I've never complained about difficulty so far after 2+ years, but this is breaking me. Random opponents with already hard combination of nodes, along with random effects within the fight, set you up for certain failure on particular days, making the rewards a joke in comparison to the difficulty. Some days are too likely to give you conditions that can't be worked around, and out of any of your control, except for revive your way to the end.
Along with the previous, you can't change your team, and no multiple tries. You can't see what you'll face until it's too late, and are locked in. If you get a bad combination, you can revive and try, try, try, or back out with no way of being able to try for those rewards again. ***** I can go with some BS content now and then, when I can back out, regroup, and go back in, but not this. ***** It's, eat the $%!^ sandwich, or don't eat at all. Mmm

Just to show how ridiculous these trials are, this pic show the outcome of my five star, rank four, duped Magik fight at the Expert (so not the highest!) difficulty level. WITH those Trials boost on. That's right: over 180. Sorry, but that's getting insane. Also, there are so many weird interactions and so many symbols up, I often have zero idea what is going on
At this rate, even players that don't mind spending quite a bit - that includes me - are gonna bail out of hard content, without using a single item, let alone buying any.
As a game developer, you HAVE to sustain the 'illusion' that players are in control. Or could be in control. Losing a fight due to screwing up is fine. Even if that fight is hard, and missing a single intercept causes death.
But once your ability as a player to win any given fight doesn't hinge so much on skills anymore, but on a (cough) random combination of buff/node/champ interactions that is completely out of the player's control, you might as well rebrand the game. In that case, it 'evolves' from a fighting game into a slot machine. A 'generate outcome' button would work just as well, and save everyone valuable time.
Just tried the (what i assume is last day) epic trials -- and i hardly complain on difficulty but this wasn't "difficult" this was a pay wall.
I have no issue spending money on the game. But this was too blatant.

Just like many others here: my opinion of the trials of the elementals is bad. Always knew these non-movie tie up events are as bad as the money pits they were created from.
Now that I have completed my last Epic run in this event I can say that without question this was the most tedious event ever. Not fun at all. Some of the champ/node combos ruined it. You guys have done better side events in the past. I hope that you can look at the data and make some adjustments on the champ/node combos for these kinds of events in the future. Brawl + Oscillate + just about any champ as an example. It just makes for a long, frustrating fight.
Also nodes that punish the player for using boosts that are supposed to help the player. Having to not use a boost for this reason is bad design imo. Regen boost + Spite for example.
