  • There’s different kinds of players, not even just spenders and F2P. The whales are going to buy enough offers during J4 to have plenty of units to buy the unit offers in J4. For them that’s a self-contained spending event. And there are heavy arena grinders that have more units than they can spend on just the J4 offers,…
  • The general intent is for the top rank/level achievable to only be the top tier until a certain percentage of players achieve it, where upon the next tier arrives. To actually pace this to a reasonable ratchet requires a lot of moving parts being synchronized. You need the effort required to achieve those ranks be high…
  • I thought about it, but I figured at that point anyone in 10k+ units climbing the Omega ladder was unlikely to stop halfway to the next Omega milestone because at 13800 units you reach the 160 point milestone which is 900 units. You spend 10800 units to reach 140 points in Omega and 174 in Alpha. To reach 185 and max out…
  • Nah, questioning them is fine. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. However, I do know that the 36900 unit number was confirmed by the developers on the CCP server as being the intended top spend max-out for Omega, and independently reached by a couple of other quants. So that number at least seems safe.
  • Another possibility is you could take one of those champs and auto fight them through one of the low difficulty EQ maps, and pick up some units on the side. Heavy arena grinders are, of course, likely to pick up these points almost automatically.
  • I think so. The delta event awards one Cav per ten points, and you get one point per fight, five points if you use one of the special champs (Mole Man, Quicksilver, Longshot, Corvus Glaive, Omega Red, or Omega Sentinel). If you use those champs it will take 68 total fights to get the maximum 34 Cav crystals. 68x5=340…
  • Did you start with 44 Omega points and 78 Alpha points for free? That might be it there. The Cavs you get for free from the Delta mission count points towards alpha, but then the Alpha milestones have Omega paragon crystals that will count points towards Omega milestones. And then Omega milestones contain units, which you…
  • Technically speaking, an F2P player that is a dedicated arena grinder could get that many units in four or five months. I don’t know what you mean by “catch the whales.” If we play the game identically but I spend ten bucks and you don’t, you’re never catching me. I don’t know what sort of person thinks spending offers no…
  • I describe it as out of pocket, which for clarity means I assume the players burns all the units from Omega on crystals, but that is not counted as a unit cost. Or to put it another way, that’s how many units you should be down by, after counting all you spent and all you got back. If you started with exactly 36900 units,…
  • According to my calculations, a F2P player that gets all 32 free Cavs from the Delta mission, then opens all crystals earned in all milestones earned in both Alpha and Omega tracks, and spends all units from Omega milestones on Paragon or Valiant crystals, can reach 70 points in alpha and 32 points in Omega. To max out…
  • Yeah, it’s a shame they decided to abandon wish crystals, and only gave us champion selector crystals instead.
  • First of all, I doubt it. Paragon daily crystal odds are actually posted in-game, and while I don’t have access to those odds anymore (as I’m Valiant) I did record them. Odds of full T5B were 5%, and the odds of getting T3A fragments was only 0.2% (I.e. one in 500 crystals). That roughly matched what I recorded from them…
  • There should be a way to get them in the deathless store eventually, just like DGuilly, but I’m not sure precisely when those selectors will arrive.
  • For me, and players like me who tend to be completists, playing every part of the game to at least some degree, pursuing the Deathless champs is a thing unto itself. The chase is worth it because the chase is the thing. Separate from that, they are pretty good champs so far. They aren’t pure trophies that just sit on the…
  • You might be surprised. Not that the devs think it’s a good idea in general for players to zip to Valiant in a month, but the fact that it *can* be done implies some good things about the game. The game economy designers try to make sure that a player currently at progression X have what they need to eventually reach X+1…
  • The player base is cray-cray.
  • I believe so. Taskmaster’s sig ability (max sig) should reduce the opponent’s base ability accuracy by 65%. For most champions that will reduce their ability accuracy from 100% to 35%. On top of that, TM can also via his reflexes passive reduce their OAA and DAA by up to 50%. That should stack. “Reduce OAA” in technical…
  • To be fair, I’ve only studied Battlegrounds for 16 seasons and the beta. I might not have the same level of experience as the OP.
  • I could say a lot of things here, but instead I'll just say that my deficiencies do not prevent me from studying the ISO economy to a greater depth than anyone else, they do not prevent me from discussing the ISO economy with the economy designers, they do not prevent me from making specific suggestions to improve the ISO…
  • Although technically speaking if you really want to fight another player 1v1, you could always meet up at a Dave and Busters that has the arcade version.
  • I'll toss in here the mega Game is Down thread from 2018. I seem to recall there were two of these, but this is the only one surviving in my bookmarks. https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/77956/game-is-down-resolved/p1 Probably the threads that best capture some of the spirit of the wild west days of…
  • I don't want to derail the thread, so I'm only going to address this once and then move on. The official forums are for players to discuss the game between each other, with some interaction with the Kabam staff. It is not a place to discuss complaints about support. If you wish to air grievances regarding customer support,…
  • Never say never, but never.
  • This is something I see a lot. Certain resources become far more constrained when vets make alts than they normally are, because vets progress much faster, which means they are getting champs faster than normal and rank up level up resources slower than normal. They also tend to not do a lot of the content most new players…
  • They can't do that. As a practical matter, they can't just increase rewards today and then decrease them tomorrow, for the same reason they can't just nerf champs if they get too strong. It is more trouble than it is worth with our playerbase to nerf anything. Instead, they continuously ratchet up the rewards in the game…
  • For some players, yes. For others, the same feeling was expressed about gold. How we choose to "rank" the resources in the game is a personal choice, and if you decide that, say, gold and ISO are just this side resource you shouldn't have to care about much and the cats are the real thing you have to chase, and that…
  • I'm not sure I would characterize that as disagreement, so much as it is just saying something completely different. And you can ask for 30% ISO, and in fact you are guaranteed to get it. Eventually.
  • You say that like this isn't yours. Or rather, this is yours: That's an awful lot of complaining about who's posting what in a single day. How was I spending my Sunday? Not here.
  • It isn't really appropriate, in my opinion, to compare the max out costs between rarities, because that's not the choice most players are presented with. In other words, in general most players aren't choosing between maxing out a 5 or maxing out a 6 or maxing out a 7, at least in progression terms (people do rank things…
  • Words don't play the game, people do. I'm afraid I can't take any of these things you've typed into account, as none of them are people. I'm kidding. I'm actually unable to take any of these words seriously because they appear to be non-sequitur gibberish.
