  • You can only open one 7 star loyalty crystal every 90 days anyway. Personally, I'm making more loyalty than I can spend on crystals so saving makes no sense. Its not like you can save 5mil loyalty and open 3 when new pool appears. Might as well spend it now. When Black Cat enters the basic pool, it will be a less than 1%…
  • That's a relief. There are many youtubers for gameplay videos and quest guides but I like having someone to listen to who just has some commentary of things going on. Probably watched a video or two of his every day. Glad he's back and feeling better.
  • Yup, Overall, it is a great change. Removing the RNG factor from the daily crystals and converting it into guaranteed value is a massive win. Every day being "Level Up Event" is also great. I am a little bummed that the Valiant Infographic had a misleading item, but I'm still happy with the bulk package. Shelving my dreams…
  • Being truthful, I was skeptical of there being 3 15% selectors a day. Seemed too good to be true. Would also be lying to say I'm not very disappointed anyway :'(
  • Probably not. The trend is already broken. Rank 1 5 Stars are similar to Rank 3 4 Stars Gamora Attack Rating 694 vs 726 (+5%) A Rank 1 6 Star has stats margoinally higher than a Rank 4 5 star Gamora Attack Rating 1805 vs 1916 (+6%) However a Rank 1 7 star is closer to a R5 6 Star Gamora Attack Rating at Rank 4 6 Star =…
  • Eh, Mixed bag. It is only the end of week 1 and I'm in Diamond 1. Thats pretty fast for me. I'm excited for the solo event milestones having 7 star shards. Also my fist BG season as a Valiant. The trophy tokens are more valuable than ever now. The meta isn't too difficult to understand either. I won 6 matches in a row and…
  • Mine is on cooldown for another 67 days. Most recent opening was a Black Cat. Very happy about that. The previous 4 were Aarkus, Howard, Aarkus and Aarkus Again. R3 7 star sig 40 Vision Aarkus strikes fear into BG opponents. So many players ban him even though I don't really plan to draft him.
  • Vision Aarkus A big ole R3, 7 Star, somehow sig 40 Vision Aarkus.
  • No, but even big fish will get eaten by whales. The more players in the game, the healthier the food chain. The easiest seasons to get to GC are the ones where there is a chase incentive. Whether its bonus event rewards, deathless champ pieces, etc... the jump in player count boosts tier mobility.
  • Thank you for performing your civil service. By contributing deaths you have helped elevate others to greater heights. In doing so you have also help reduce the number of high level accounts in lower tiers, making future fights easier within Platinum. I myself an a happy Paragon who has just reached Vibrainium 3 and…
  • The way I'm thinking about it, there is a weird phenomenon where for some Paragon players, Bronze and Silver are particularly hellish because the smaller accounts are shielded from them. So they end up with a bunch of tough fights against similar or higher accounts. For some players, The low ranks end up being harder than…
  • I really like this idea of AI decks for lower tiers. It combats a few issues. Super big accounts shouldn't be hanging around stomping Uncollected and Cav accounts, but it is also a bit unfair for them to only face other crazy strong opponents in Bronze and Silver. A middle ground is the throw in some generic AI accounts…
  • I think the match making is about as good as it can be. Part of the problem is that really strong players don't always move through VT fast enough. It discourages the thronebreaker players from playing more than their 3 matches every 2 days. So lower paragons become the bottom of the barrel in diamond until the last few…
  • Really not an arena fan. One thought though is that they seem to want to keep 7 stars mostly out of the hands of thronebreaker and below. So any arena mode that includes 7 stars shards or champs would likely have to be progression locked to paragon+ or maybe just valiant. Arena is kind of a dead mode though. Fights are…
  • Hating it. I knew from the meta's node description that it was going to be dull. Skill champ's don't benefit enormously from the node and no particular defenders get worse from it. One thing I didn't expect was the power sting to be so weak. At some point I let myself get stung and realized it wasn't that bad. There were…
  • I'm in a similar boat. Opened 4 loyalty crystals and got Vision 3 times. Now I like him. First time was cool, dupe was nice, third time felt like a troll. Really wanted to pull a Black Cat or Storm.
  • Not quite "unique" since there is another Aarkus above, but I haven't seen another R3 7 star yet.
  • I like the idea of being compensated for encountering cheaters. Not sure how feasible it is though. Complex and personalized compensation seems to require manpower. I don't think there is a bot that can auto-detect a modder, ban them, trace all their opponents and then send a compensation to each of them. I think…
  • A bit daunting. Making good progress, just over 300k points. Close to running out of Elders marks though. If my alliance grind a lot more I'll get some more but if not, I estimate that I'll have to play about 120 more matches with energy to make 450k points. Crazy that I'm considering using units to ease the grind but the…
  • It seems in poor spirit to use AW tactic tags when these tags are only used by players in tier 5 and up. That's only 5% of players (maybe a bit more since some bounce in and out of Challenger tier. Regardless, it would be really confusing to the more than 90% of players who don't play high level wars. I read the…
  • @DNA3000 When ever you're discouraged, ask yourself this question: do you want to *be* right, or do you want people to *think* you're right? If you want people to think you're right, you'll only speak when you know for sure everyone will agree with you. But if you want to *be* right, you'll speak even though people might…
  • @Gomezlink The rewards are not exactly the same. What a Cavalier player can buy with 30k trophy tokens is completely different from what a Paragon player can. So in a sense, the lower progression players are getting less in the absolute sense. It is also a temporary benefit. Once you use the rewards to grow your account,…
  • @DNA3000 Thanks for the insightful response. I wish I has seen your September post earlier but I don't frequent the forums. I'll admit, I like math but after high school I struggled quite a bit to pick up university math. Statistics was a marginal pass despite how interesting I felt it was. I still like collecting numbers…
  • Well, Yes. The 4th "Aspect of a Good Game Mode" that I omitted in editing (because it sounded really cynical) is "Make Money". Without an advantage from larger or stronger rosters, there is less incentive to rank up, open more crystals, etc. The frustration from losing is supposed to push players to invest more time or…
  • I did state that we don't know system. I just offered a best guess based off of data from my matches and anecdotal evidence from players I've talked to. In the 150 matches from last season there is a hint of a bell curve showing up. 70% of matches were within +/- 10% of my prestige rating. It is not the greatest data set…
  • Oh, this all makes sense now! The matchmaking is designed to limit how many people make it to Gladiator Circuit at all! Kabam is trying to starve off the supply of trophy tokens that have been pumping everyone up. The reason these low accounts are in Arcane 2 is because there is no one in Arceane 3 and lower. This means…
  • Yes, we definitely can't know what the system is. It doesn't seem to be based off of deck strength because that would mean sandbagging should work now. Would be weird to look at the top 30 champs you own too but who knows. All I'm doing is tabulating by data to look for trends. Minor update on my "study", Played 12 more…
