Bringing my 4* NF or Wasp would be worth only playing with effectively 4 champs for what they bring to the table for CMM/Ghost respectively. Equally, an R3 equivalent can still take a fight in a 6.4 champ if you’re good and that’s enough for me.
While I can, and do, play both in Act 6 with no synergies I don’t think there’s any real debate that them having their synergy partner is worth a dead slot in your team.

That's not how games like this with intended progression levels and gates work. There will always be Progression Gates, and there will always be the time/effort needed to build the right Roster.
Progression gates come in many forms, whether that's Level locks, Uncollected/Cavalier only content, or Rarity gates. Skilled players will have an easier time getting the requirements for those gates, but the gates will always exist.

I'm going to have to disagree with that. There are large scale and acute problems that come from that.
This is my ask. please tone the attack ratings down. It is simply just not fun get killed by a 5 hit combo with a r5 maxed out champion. Other than the attack values I have no real complaints because my roster is diverse. More skilled based fights would help as well. Having Quake and Ghost still being the main two counters for everything is annoying when we have so many good champions.

Do you mean that Rarity gates will always exist? Because if Book 2 is also going to be limited to five and six stars, I am going to be sorely disappointed. I have an expansive five star roster and a decent six star roster, but I am still missing one or two key synergy members (like Wasp as a five or six star for Ghost) and allowing four stars would make the game much more enjoyable.

You could be as good as MSD and pull a Groot or you can be a total scrub and pull a Domino. The only way to try to get the champs you need is to open as many crystals as possible and that comes from spending units not progressing.

We just need 4 stars for synergy purposes. All the levels and holding back things that you're speaking of doesn't apply. No one will realistically taking down 90% of act 6 content with a 4 star when you're taking 500-1000's plus parry damage depending on the node. Causing people to use items on nodes that should be easy with having Electro and Heimdoll for example is just not fun.
I still haven't' fully unlocked the full power of my Ghost because I just so happen to not pull a 5 or 6 star Wasp. I have well over 100 5 star champions and 20+ 6 stars. Nothing fun about having to parry before I hit my Sp2 because Ghost isn't unblockable.
The thing is, to get to this we have to have finished act 6, which means we must have a solid 5 star roster, so why block out 4 stars? We’ve already proven we have progressed past the point of reliance on them, so just let us bring them in for synergy purposes or maybe that 1 fight we don’t have the right 5* for like if there’s another acid wash mysterio type fight

I’m excited either way I’m really likede 6.4 a few part just hard without prower champions at all but that’s do’s not meant it is bad that just means I’m Hav to expanding my roster.
At the beginning of this year I completed and fully explored Act 4 as I only had the quest with Maestro left. I've barely started Act 5, but hearing Act 7 (Book 2 Act 1) has certainly motivated me to work toward finishing my completion of Act 5 for this year. I look forward to any video content YouTubers post when Book 2 Act 1 debuts!

Y’all can defend the gates all you want but the fact that I’m essentially road blocked from defeating 6.2 Sinister (and have been for months despite opening countless 5 and 6 star crystals) because I don’t have a Heimdall, Medusa or Hyperion is absurd. 90 5* champs and not one of them can counter that fight.
