Are Relics still coming into the game? Or has that idea been shelved with all the problems going on currently?

Relics are still in active development!

Timelines are always uncertain, but we should have more information to share in the near future.

Yeah, people seem to forget that Relics were originally pitched as an alternative to 7* champions. We’re either getting them, 7*s, or some other form of champion advancement in the near future.

Now that most high-end spenders who want to max out their prestige have done so, Kabam needs to come up with a new carrot to fuel that race. 6*s released shortly after 5* r4 became the meta, pretty much right as the first 5* r5 became available in game.

I have no idea what the next stage will be. I don’t even know what I hope it will be. I’m not opposed to Relics or 7* or whatever in concept. But implementation is what will matter.

It seems that whenever 7*s or Relics are floated as ideas as the next stage of progression people hate them both with equal fervour. I never understood that, you kinda have to decide which one you’d rather see as the next part of the game.

I dread the arrival of relics. Just another monetized ptw addition I foresee. Make mcoc like all the other games like it with "equipment" that you have to keep up with

Strikes maybe? Like you can add an extra champ as a striker without using the added champ itself in the quest

I personally think that 7* will be more exciting than 6*. Sure you have to start again with that rarity but there’s a lot more good than dross in the pool now.

I’m not a whale and I’m sitting on ~120 6*, and have the majority of the ‘god tiers’ in that bunch so I’m not actually looking forward to most of my 6* openings unless it’s a featured crystal. The introduction of 7* resets that, whereas relics are going to be cool I’ve pulled a gold upgrade for Colossus or however they end up being implemented.

For the next progression, the focus will be prestige. They will make 6r5 Groot, Iron Fist, ogIron man, cap and moon knight the highest prestige champs.

If we are guaranteed to get relics. I better not see a 7* champ on my screen in this game.

I can answer this by saying, now we have 6* selectors, new 5* are given in pre-release bundle, look at most top tier players YouTube videos opening their 6* nexus or selectors rarely any of them is getting a new 6* and they're not missing any of the good ones. I think this is all indicators we're getting 7* champs soon, also there's a video posted by rob von shoe long time ago regarding 7* they they'll be added soon. As much as I hate it but we're seeing them sooner than we think

I want relics over 7*
Why would I want to play with the same champs in the way except with slightly more damage and health? Look at how much 6* scaling was nerfed in relation to 5* and you see what 7* will look like. Relics at least will offer something new.

Btw, relics will come next month in a side quest or special event.

Here's where I disagree. Removing the next step up and introducing "gear" will wear out very quickly. Not that Relics aren't a welcome addition. If it's the alternative to a new Rarity, I don't think it will add the longevity that 7*s will.
I've been playing Mirrorverse and it's fun, really fun, but there are limitations to that model.
